Crucial info for new artists who have to wear so many hats now. Easy to forget that performance is and always has been king. Conditioning for that also means self care first. Spot on 💯
YES!! you can do a small squats (more of a plié) + lift the (light) weights above your head to get your ribcage moving - will change and improve your breathing. walk / run in the rhythm of your song
0:01 to 0:15 When will venues realize that they can RECEIVE Livestreams from popular music groups that are TRANSMITTING from their rehearsal space?? These venues can receive and screen this livestream production to a crowd at their venue in real-time, all for the price of a movie ticket. This gives fans a place to gather to enjoy the performance together instead of encouraging viewers to isolate and watch on their smartphones separately.
Just listened to the Podcast but came here to comment. Thanks for having Wendy Parr on the show again. I actually took a lot of notes when you first interviewed her. What I like, which she only touched on here, is how she's creating a world and identity for her artists and that influences the marketing. In your first interview you had with her she said her job was to develop the voice as it's a tool for the artists message and the life that they want to live
What a great video! I felt my heart immediately resonate with Wendy and just subscribed to " Wendys World" . Maybe it was the hat cuz im a hat fanatic 😁 She seems like a fascinating sort who has embraced her passion in life 😊
i get her point about the bedroom performers, but on the otherhand, as a pure hearted musician who just wants to create and express, i wonder why we need to be performative? back in the day, people would sit down and watch a piano player sit down and play and that was enough. why should it be any different for any other musician?
I'm def not saying be performative! Be REAL, be AUTHENTIC. I'm saying if all you do is sing to a camera sitting down you're not prepping yourself for the career you want - live singing, on stage with endurance + the ability to move a live audience. Singing and performing is athletic.
Social media platforms are just websites and/or computer applications. They’ve been around since 1997. The platforms are NOT the core issue, back then we had to wait until we got home to use the internet. *The core issue is now the computer is in your pocket. This gives you 24/7 access to entertainment and productivity all in one device. Grabbing your phone is the habit.* The phone also pings and talks now. So it might as well say “Made you look!” LOL!

I jog on a treadmill and hold weights while I sing. It's good to be reminded how effective it is to apply these techniques to improve live singing
Ur very smart, I jog and sing. I also do chi gong while rehearsing. It give me unexplained stamina to sing and move my body or dance for hrs
@@WorrelMiller thanks! So are you, I gotta give that approach a try. If you never have, sing while doing jumping jacks, planks, and jumping roping too
@@Halucidnate oh wow. 🙏🏾 that’s upper echelon level type a ting. I’m definitely doing that the next time I go to rehearsal. Thanks for sharing

Such an amazing episode, one of my new faves... As a singer it's ESPECIALLY insightful!

A difference between recording artist and true singer... just my opinion..
Thumbnail is misleading. Tommy is a opera singer at one of the best music schools in the country
Can’t say that for most artists
Get rid of social media app

This advice only goes for pop girls
Point, but there are lots of people lip syncing to their for socials and never singing thru songs or prepping for a full set
