Fun fact about the Token name thing. They retconned his name being Tolkien in 2022, but they played it in a way that it seemed like it was always Tolkien and they broke the 4th wall in the episode with characters saying "Anyone who thought a black kid was named Token, and not Tolkien is a racist piece of shit." while staring dead into the camera. Fans are dedicated to the bit as well, if you go to the subreddit, anytime someone says Token, they get called racist/piece of shit. Even changed subtitles for older episodes.
All the old episodes after that one aired got their subtitles changed on Paramount Plus where everyone _except Stan_ says Tolkien

so fun fact about the episode with the little person in it. the reason why the guy's voice randomly would change pitch all the time, which you both noticed and pointed out, is because Trey Parker who did the voice was constantly inhaling helium for the voice. therefore the pitches being different were from him inhaling either more or less helium depending on where in the scene he had to do the voice.

I grew up when South Park started, so I'm pre PC and this shit has always been about taking the piss out of absolutely everything which is why it's so successful. I miss the days when comedy was about humour and I fall into a fair about of categories, but I don't get offended because sometimes you need humour to get through trauma. I'm very conservative and I made that openly clear in high school, yet South Park was the only show I was able to watch with the rest of my friends back then. Woke, blue haired, LGBT, etc. I disagreed with them, but they were good people. So yeah South Park was a fun show to bond over collectively.

south park haters don't understand how dark the south park actually has been to this day. the problem is, these compilations are too old and edited randomly. these are not even the darkest or most offensive jokes in the show. most of the jokes require context. because 90% of jokes in an episode are connected to the plot. what other TV show has ever shown a real life video clip of a *transgender surgery* , *birth of a child* and cartoon version of christopher reeve sucking life juice out of fetuses.
the funny thing is you complain about the compilations being too old yet everything you mention at the end happened 15+ years ago and this compilation is far newer as exampled by the inclusion of PC principle.
I saw the surgery and fetus stem cell scene, but when did they show an actual birth in the show?

Oh, man… I so want to see a follow up to this that covers some of the more recent episodes! The ones where Garison morphs into Trump are just incredible. The later seasons actually had surprisingly good season story arcs and took solid jabs at current events-not just the _random_ offensiveness of the early seasons.

For context, I am quite the South Park reactor. I've already watched Seasons 2 through 14 and am still going strong because people really like my reactions. And I remember SO many of these scenes.
I’m Gen Z and I love South Park, it almost never criticizes any racial, ethnic or national group in bad taste. Most of the time it’s from the perspective of how ridiculously dumb or intolerant the citizens of south park are, especially cartman. When I was like 12 I thought it was just being edgy for the sake of it because I didn’t understand the intentions of the writers.
Also, your guys shock at the swearing is so innocent and cute lol. Swearing in tv/film is so normal here in the UK
The minecraft skin was called "athletic steve" meant to represent Steve if he was a runner who won a gold metal and was tan due to being in the sun training. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was racist.
