The new S-Class can be experienced with all the senses - seeing, feeling, hearing and smelling - while offering numerous innovations in the areas of driver assistance, protection and interaction. Mercedes-Benz is shaping the next generation of individual mobility for our times with innovations that place the focus on people. The new S-Class uses digitisation for a car that responds empathetically to the needs and wishes of its driver and passengers.
Modern luxury attains the next level in the interior of the S-Class. The designers have created a feel-good ambience with lounge character marked by elegance, high quality and lightness. The dashboard with its new architecture, modern surface design and ergonomic display arrangement is a particular highlight. But the feel-good aspect goes even deeper: with high ride quality and low noise levels as well as an extensive range of ENERGIZING COMFORT programmes, the S-Class looks after the well-being of its passengers. They also stay fit thanks to the effective air filtering system, which signals its newly gained capability with the new name ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL.
The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class has become more intelligent in many areas, and the driving experience is at the next level. Digital innovations such as in MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) are joined by innovations that increase driving enjoyment while making driving even safer: among them are rear-axle steering with a large steering angle and safety innovations such as the rear airbag. As a new function of PRE-SAFE® Impulse Side, the active E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL suspension can raise the vehicle body (on both sides) just before an impending side impact. Following systematic further development, the driving assistance systems are a further step towards autonomous driving. Thanks to improved environmental sensors, for example, the parking systems give the driver even better support when manoeuvring at low speed. The integration into MBUX means that the level of visualisation has now entered a whole new dimension.

Nowhere. It's just an computer generated image made up from the 360° cameras and the distance sensors built into the car. These images are mapped into an "room" with an animation of the car in the middle so it looks like you can see it from the outside.

Gomie it’s not about powerful PC’s. My 10 years old iPhone 3GS with single 400 mhz core CPU did better job with animations than this $100K car does on selecting music screen. They position this vehicle as super-duper hi-tech thing, so at least smooth UI animations is the must.

I don’t get it all they did was an interior design, the body doesn’t convince me. Previous model was exuberant opulent exhilarating, but this looks more like an E class. Disappointed. Guess the bmw7 with the huge massive grill will have to for now or the suv cuz this exterior dimmed the extravagant powerful attraction of an S class

A hint for the marketing department: the soundtrack is too noisy/modern/loud party and not really congruent with the image of the car.

Exactly. Its like they are trying to sell a car to a party animal. This should have more atmospheric and away-from-the-fuss kind of experience, just a nice piece of road and classical music with enough time to let you imagine yourself being there and feeling it. Mercedes should be able to afford an advertisement which says absulutelly nothing in words but lets everyone dive in there for a minute.

The S-Class is usually driven by a 50 if not 60 + man. If it is a woman, it is the wife of said man. By the way, I doubt that this person is happy with the touch display. I am 44, work in the software sector...and I am too old for that sh##!
I have no doubts that this will be an amazing vehicle, both in terms of comfort and technology, althouh I think the design of the previous S-Class was much classier and in lines with the heritage of the luxury car, so well represented through out the years by Mercedes-Benz... I am not a big fan of the center console being just a huge screen, in my opinion makes it look like a Tesla with more leather, and not what the S-Class used to be...
No way. The Tesla interior design is chunky, except for the model 3 where the screen isn't even vertical. This thing has a vertical center console flowing into the rear seats, no panel gaps etc. Are you saying that every car with a huge screen is basically a Tesla because they were the first to do it? Hah. Then all cars should be Mercs, because Karl Benz made the Benz Patent motorwagen, the first car, as widely regarded by most historians.

Probably because the Koreans copied Benz a long time ago including Audi and BMW, without them the Genesis wouldn't exit besides the Genesis looks old and tardy now and definitely looks like pretender next to the real thing the Benz S Class.

Not yet...but trust me it will be. The front of this car is really elegant - even better than the previous one. The rear is debatable but overall what a car, honestly! I would like to get one...perhaps in a couple of years' time when the price will be more reasonable on second hand car...
