What i like about you two is that your reactions are honest with no intention to satisfy any romanian's national pride
The thing with romanian music is that it truly stands in it’s lyrics, being the romance language to preserve old latin the most. No other language can weave emotions like romanian does, with it’s musicality and profoundness. The Motans are a great exemple of this, you really can’t fathom the poetry like feel of their music unless you learn the language. It’s a shame to know foreign people can’t experience our music like we do.

The reason why "Tic Tac" isn't a typical rap song is because it talks abt how fast life is going and you can't pause it. The lyrics are beautiful, one of the best songs ever imo

You dissing Bosquito made me laugh out loud, it used to be at every party in my high-school days, the drunkard's anthem, as it were, bcs the chorus is alcohol-themed and everybody yelled it out at the top of their lungs. The folklore music you have been referred to is actually a pop adaptation of the original genre. The romanian folklore music is more like country music but they use different instruments. A nice exercise for you guys to help you out understand Romania through music/sound is to listen to Rapsodia Romana by George Enescu.
Vescan is one of my favorite artists. The lyrics of his songs are so meaningful. You should look more into his songs..
Every time I listen TIC-TAC i cry. Is the BEST Romanian song. Is a song about childhood. In the evening you are a child and in the morning you are already an adult, and he misses his childhood

Valeria Stoica - Get Back (beautiful, beautiful voice and chords)
Robin and the Backstabbers - . /în /îm /pre //ună . (a lot of their songs feel like the musical equivalent of a combination between concept and abstract art)
Mihail - Guess it's on you (he's better known for the song "Mă ucide ea" but i felt like this one was more representative to his work)
The Mono Jacks - 100 de DA (a song about overbearing parents and breaking free from their expectations)
Dirty Shirt & Ansamblul Transilvania - Maramu (this is a mix of romanian folk and metal)
COMA - Cântă-mi Povestea (a song that anyone into romanian rock knows by heart, i hope)
Cargo - honestly anything by them, but if you wanna go with something really well known, "Dacă ploaia s-ar opri" is THE SONG
