I agree with your take on Tyranids, they need to incorporate more animals features into their units. Since they are constantly obtaining new genetic material and splicing it into their collection, they should take all sorts of shapes from animals all over the milky way, both real ones that were imported from earth all over the galaxy or something (idk if that ever happened in 40k but it gives us familiar animals) but also some of the fictional monstrous fauna in 40k. You said you'd get flayed alive for your Custodes take, but honestly a lot of us 100% agree with you that the Sisters need more. There are a lot of really cool units that could be done, such as their Knight-Commander (overall leader of the Sisters), or the Pursuers who track psykers down using cyber-mastiffs, and even some fun jetbike stuff.
I absolutely *love* land rovers, I wish the imperial guard could bring a 40k version of a land rover defender. It fits perfectly, utilitarian, pretty easily produced and a regular army thing.
For the Grey Knights, I'd rather have another walker unit, since they are already good on Infantry, and Tanks wouldn't really fit the aesthetics of the Grey Knights
Just curious if anyone else remembers, but in the Kingsblade book for Knights, they had these battlefield crawlers that served as a pure support unit. I think Sacristan Crawlers or something? They supported small microfactories for ammunition and repair, as well as serving as a sort of sensor booster and vox relay. I think it would be interesting to give the faction that's famous for big robots and big guns.... A robot with NO guns 😮
exploding stealers sound fun, but what most gsc players want, and is constantly talked about in the subreddit, is either a)GSC flier, maybe some dudes ready to do a drone strike or something, b) People in mining exo suits with big drill arms, and c) some sort of big center piece monster. In the current codex there's a mention of a snake like creature that lives in sewers and completely screws over technology around it. Most people want either a new unit, or a big centerpiece. Just not another character, please ^^'
As a Guard player, what I’ve wanted for a while (besides Krieg resin kits in plastic) is like a Little Bird for Scions. A sentinel sized flyer with a transport capacity of 5 and firing deck of 5. Think the first bit of the Gulag Prisoner 627 mission from the original COD Modern Warfare 2. Also, if the new Aquilon Scions don’t actually have fly when they come to the codex, then Jumppack a unit. Specifically a shooty jumppack, not a melee jumppack.
As AdMech I'd mainly want some more characters to fill out some conceptual niches that I like to think about when building lists. Mainly more types of generic leader units especially for units that aren't just electro-priests, kataphrons, or baseline skitarii. Like a real stabby skitarii marshal that can lead regular skitarii or sicarians, a mounted skitarii marshal that can lead regular skitarii or serberys unit, or something like a magos biologis to take an apothecary type role as a bio-tech medic for a tiny bit more resilience. They could also thematically really benefit from another named character or two that aren't top 5 most important in the setting right now, like a skitarii marshal that's recognized above his contemporaries (I just really like skitarii ok?), or an archmagos of some smaller forge world. For more squad type units I think bringing in the tech-thralls from 30k would be a great addition for a slightly more tanky battleline unit and also be more almost-servitor rep in the army. On the subject of 30k I also really like the idea of an entire unit of combat tech-priests and I'm honestly a little surprised it's not already a thing here because it'd make for a great elite infantry. Moving on to vehicles I really love the archaeopter model and vibe but I struggle to find any place for it, so I'd like to see a somewhat scaled down version that takes the design and uses it as more of an attack helicopter than a hybrid hover-plane. I think it would also be cool to have a smaller, faster type of vehicle that would fit somewhere between the serberys and a dunecrawler, maybe a heavy hover bike or six-legged walker with a role similar to the Halo warthog that you could run in units of 1-3 like the ironstriders. If you want to go really funky for something like a fortification, it would be cool to have a planted mini-factory that pumps out servitors, attaching them to nearby infantry units or characters on your command phase up to a cap. It's a faction that still has a lot of empty corners that need to be filled in, and an aesthetic to make very very interesting things to fill them, and that potential is part of why I love them so much.
For orks i want the goff rokker to make a comeback and function essentially as a chaplain and be there to eitber buff shooting or melee for orks, wither making them hri harder or throw more hits
As a world eaters player my wants are a flamer based fiend, red butchers, cavalry berzerkers, and flamer pistols for the berzerkers. You can’t Kill, maim, burn if you don’t burn anything
So the vast majority of my hobby participation for 40K is homebrewing and a bunch of the stuff you've proposed I want to homebrew or already have. The irony is GREAT. I even have all the datasheets on a google doc.
16:00 Kataphron servitors have a similar vibe to what you were mentioning. They have tracks instead of legs and you can give them plasma, arc, grav, and torsion weapons. They also have some of the better melee in the game.
It’s very simple what I want as a world eater player. GIVE ME MY TERMINATORS! Also a butcher surgeon would be cool, but GIVE ME MY GOT DAMN TERMINATORS!
Tau could have a group of 3 suits. With the old shields, a shoulder mounted ranged weapon and then some plasma blade nonsense or something. The Shas'vre could have an Onager Gauntlet maybe. An earth caste engineer. Maybe wiith a few drones and lone op. A group of mixed auxiliaries even. I think the drukhari have something similar. But just a group of like 4 different auxiliary races as one unit. Maybe like a command bodyguard group or something.
39:42 I believe this exists in Horus Heresy as the Osirion Contemptor Dreadnought. It looks alright, but GW has it posed goofy-like on the website. Would kill for something more similar to the standard KSons Contemptor.
My Tau thing, make something the size of a ghost keel, hell give it stealth like one, in fact make it a modified ghost keel, but! Give it the fusion blades (a fusion blaster, used as a melee weapon, like how Bravestorm did when The Eight were still playable, and put them on that medium sized suit, no (or at least like minimal shoulder guns) guns, just fly, stealth, and melee. Heck, say its a farsighted enclaves bastardizathion of a ghostkeel
Daemons player here, the Nurgle range needs a chariot style piece. I'd make it a indirect fire gun platform. Also, the daemon princes need a drastic change for daemons, take the character keyword from them and take them in squads of 1 to 3. Make them shock elite troops. . Also fortifications, but make them not suck.
I frankly think Bolters and Banter is better than Poorhammer, largely because Poorhammer seems to border on hating 40k. Every good thing they say is ultimately backhanded.
I always wanted an exoskeleton suit like the humans have in Avatar / matrix / alien 1 with a big F off gun. For either guard / GSC / or votan. (The GSC could basically be a copy of the loader mech from alien.) I think it could be a smaller invictor warsuit (that looks good).
In regards to the space marines with shields, the SM2 game REintroduces the Bulwark marine, which is PERFECT for that. Furthermore, Bladeguard? They're a VETERAN squad, and veterans have to start somewhere~ As for Custodians, I want a Sisters of Silence TANK, with an anti-psyker/living person cannon. I'll do you one better for GSC: derrivative strains that emphasize that genestealers can breed variant strains (thus purestrains) and hybrids.
Not sure if this relates to the audio issues mentioned in the beginning… Would recommend using earbuds to hear eachother during the call, because I can hear slightly delayed speaker feedback leaking in from the background - the echo is always Nick.
Bringing back breacher marines to 40k would be great. I was so sad when they lost their forge world “Siege Assault Vanguard” army list in 8th which had rules for putting shields on tactical marines.
I would love to see a mech expansion for the sisters. They have small gundam suits, but how about a big gundam suit? The "human mech faction" would be a nice expansion of their identity.
I was actually thinking necron dreadnought earlier today. The walkers from Universe At War but with a bunch of necron warrior sarcophagi hung off of it.
Other Tau idea, how about since the past 2 editions we've lost a chunk of our leader units to legends, we just make each member of the Eight into their own model, I'd love that
I feel like for Chaos Daemons the main thing I want is more undivided daemons, I want to play less of one specific god and more the combined forces of the warp. Right now the only undivided unit is belakor
Id love death guard get plague marines riding plague toads. Give them some sort of lance for anti armour or man reapers for anti infantry. Either that or pestigores like we have in total war
No thoughts on votann? Like, the newest faction, and the one that literally needs the range because in 2 years they still feel like they are missing half an army? 🫤
For Imperial guard I Just want them to release upgrade kits sort of like they do for space marine chapters but for guard, where each One Is based around a regiment, you get 10-11 heads, torsos, maybe some specific stuff like muscles arms for catachans, sabres for tallarn and custom lasguns for vostroyans, the idea being you get a cadian box and then you get this upgrade kit for 15-20 bucks and get to turn the cadians into different regiments For marines i want a team of dark angels with those cool winged helmets and swords and all that, i dont want just 1 character to have that helmet i want a 10 unit box army with the leader of the box having that helmet while the others have smaller wings For sisters i also want the Frateris Militia aka the gathering mob of normal people for witch hunts or whatever, they should come in boxes of 20 like skaven and should mainly be very weak but good bullet sponges For admech i want the heresy models in 40k but since GW wont do that i want skitarii units that use more... heretical weapons, its not a secret that many mechanicus love looking into xeno and chaos technology while they shouldnt, and so i would love to see some skitarii using necron weapons or tau technology for grey knights give them some malice daemons they have tamed and unleash upon other daemons, according to lore malice is a chaos god of cannibalism, self-destruction and sacrifice, in general anything that would harm yourself and so malice targets far more chaos than the other gods wanting to destroy chaos over anything else, considering this it wouldnt be surprising if the grey knights took advantage of these chaos-hating daemons to use as shocktroops when fighting other daemons custodians need the eyes of the emperor aka the custodians who failed to keep up in the blood games and so ended their duty, leaving their armour and becoming secret spies looking out for troubles outside of the throne to inform the custodes in case of any troubles, they would work actually really well as snipers with hoods lower health due to lacking the custodes armour but being good scout units they could be released first as a kill team since they fit well for agents of imperium i just want more merchenary options for hire to aid your rouge trader or inquisitor, like a special kroot merchenary team, special ork bloodaxes merchenary team, ecc for imperial knights give me cool man-sized mechanicus spiders that crawl around the knight and do repairs while the knight is fighting death guard i want Necrosius, the plague orgyns or if it HAS to be a new things than give me Skaven as a result of a new plague of Nurgle, and say the horned rat is a greater daemon of nurgle that wants to become his own god so then you have a new detachment being the Skavengers world eatters idk, i dont really care for em but if i had to pick something maybe bring in the slaves they carry around, maybe you can sacrifice them to the blood god for special buffs or something idk thousand sons thrall wizards from silver towers, which are regular human magicians that are known to be in the silver towers with thousand sons they would have the health and saves of a normal human but they would cast spells from back that would buff the daemons and marines chaos daemons i want corruptive spirits like ghost-like units that can move in and have a chance at corrupting the enemy units into becoming your new units, idk if it would be determined by morale or a dice roll but point is units that can corrupt weaker enemy infantry like guardsmen into becoming chaos worshippers for chaos marines i just want more cultist stuff since it feels like it has room to expand like give me dark mechanicum units as special cultists that buff daemon engines or since in the archs of omen we saw sisters go full khorne give us traitor sister cultists for tyrranids i want breacher nids that would have big reinforced heads sort of like the door head ants they would be what tyrranids send in the front lines durring a breach invasion of an enemy fleet or enemy bunker to soak all the firepower allowing cover for termagants for genestealer cultists considering that by the 5th generation the DNA can be altered heavily i would want more hybrids but not as messy as the first few gens rather very calculated into creating powerful tyrranid-human mutants, like i want a human with the wings and jaw of a gargoyle that can use guardsmen weapons for necrons i was a flayer lord simple enough, i want a lord that can buff and make flayed ones more effective for tau I WANT NICASSARS I WANT NICASSARS GIVE ME THE PSYCHIC SPACE OWL BEAR TAU DONT HAVE GOOD MELEE SO THERE ARE KROOTS TAU DONT HAVE PSYCHERS SO GIVE ME THE NICASSARS for harlequinns and i will count them cause eldar are at least not ultramarines, give me a 10 model set that depicts the fall of monk'aigh where each harlequinn in question is a mockery depiction of an important character of the imperium like you have malcador, the emperor, horus, Sanguinius and this is a comedy act for the eldar, and all of them are very exagerated like horus has a big frown, Sanguinius is all posh and looks like handsome squidward and the emperor is fat and sitting on a golden chair for craftworld i want wraith guards that are build for stealth, they should be smaller more human sized and equipped with knives and the ability to go invisible, considering craftworlds would rather not start or prolong an open warfare such units using trickery and speed would fit very well drukhari i want new models for Sslyth, the four armed snake aliens working under drukhari, i want an entire team of elite merchenary snake people with guns and swords for orks i want snotlings, they should either be used as an ez heal by bigger boys or taken into weapons and fired adding a bonus damage to the weapon in question, there should be 4-5 snotlings on a base sort of like ripper swarms allowing for them to be used as healing and damage boost 4-5 times before the unit is removed

Also, if the new Aquilon Scions don’t actually have fly when they come to the codex, then Jumppack a unit. Specifically a shooty jumppack, not a melee jumppack.
@@wyatttyson7737 Maybe also a built in armament of two crew operated heavy bolters and two front facing missile launchers or multilasers.
I want Battle Serfs for Space Marines the ones that didn't quite meet the cut, but were still trained to support the Marines
I personally like the idea of a rokker band that operates like a command squad
As a world eaters player my wants are a flamer based fiend, red butchers, cavalry berzerkers, and flamer pistols for the berzerkers. You can’t Kill, maim, burn if you don’t burn anything
So the vast majority of my hobby participation for 40K is homebrewing and a bunch of the stuff you've proposed I want to homebrew or already have.
The irony is GREAT.
I even have all the datasheets on a google doc.

Kataphron servitors have a similar vibe to what you were mentioning.
For Marines, the only thing I feel they need are the last 3 Special/Heavy weapon Types. Grav, Las, and Heavy Bolter.
Admech needs anything that isn't another Skitarri.
You forgot leagues of votan. Just like GW
Thousand sons fortification should be a stationary ritual in progress
I mean you can’t go wrong with copying poorhammer
As long as you're not copying the way they impulsively hate on everything firstborn, I suppose.
I frankly think Bolters and Banter is better than Poorhammer, largely because Poorhammer seems to border on hating 40k. Every good thing they say is ultimately backhanded.
No bikes for sisters, but hell yea to an air assault vehicle.
I always wanted an exoskeleton suit like the humans have in Avatar / matrix / alien 1 with a big F off gun. For either guard / GSC / or votan. (The GSC could basically be a copy of the loader mech from alien.)
I think it could be a smaller invictor warsuit (that looks good).
In regards to the space marines with shields, the SM2 game REintroduces the Bulwark marine, which is PERFECT for that. Furthermore, Bladeguard? They're a VETERAN squad, and veterans have to start somewhere~
As for Custodians, I want a Sisters of Silence TANK, with an anti-psyker/living person cannon.
I'll do you one better for GSC: derrivative strains that emphasize that genestealers can breed variant strains (thus purestrains) and hybrids.
Not sure if this relates to the audio issues mentioned in the beginning…
Would recommend using earbuds to hear eachother during the call, because I can hear slightly delayed speaker feedback leaking in from the background - the echo is always Nick.
Yeah I think it’s my headset, I need to turn down my audio.
Other Tau idea, how about since the past 2 editions we've lost a chunk of our leader units to legends, we just make each member of the Eight into their own model, I'd love that
For Space Marines, I'd want my Kratos to come out of Legends :D
The tiny stormsurge is a broadside
I feel like for Chaos Daemons the main thing I want is more undivided daemons, I want to play less of one specific god and more the combined forces of the warp. Right now the only undivided unit is belakor
Id love death guard get plague marines riding plague toads. Give them some sort of lance for anti armour or man reapers for anti infantry. Either that or pestigores like we have in total war
No thoughts on votann? Like, the newest faction, and the one that literally needs the range because in 2 years they still feel like they are missing half an army? 🫤
Adeptus Mechanicus needs new cybernetica models
For Imperial guard I Just want them to release upgrade kits sort of like they do for space marine chapters but for guard, where each One Is based around a regiment, you get 10-11 heads, torsos, maybe some specific stuff like muscles arms for catachans, sabres for tallarn and custom lasguns for vostroyans, the idea being you get a cadian box and then you get this upgrade kit for 15-20 bucks and get to turn the cadians into different regiments
For marines i want a team of dark angels with those cool winged helmets and swords and all that, i dont want just 1 character to have that helmet i want a 10 unit box army with the leader of the box having that helmet while the others have smaller wings
For sisters i also want the Frateris Militia aka the gathering mob of normal people for witch hunts or whatever, they should come in boxes of 20 like skaven and should mainly be very weak but good bullet sponges
For admech i want the heresy models in 40k but since GW wont do that i want skitarii units that use more... heretical weapons, its not a secret that many mechanicus love looking into xeno and chaos technology while they shouldnt, and so i would love to see some skitarii using necron weapons or tau technology
for grey knights give them some malice daemons they have tamed and unleash upon other daemons, according to lore malice is a chaos god of cannibalism, self-destruction and sacrifice, in general anything that would harm yourself and so malice targets far more chaos than the other gods wanting to destroy chaos over anything else, considering this it wouldnt be surprising if the grey knights took advantage of these chaos-hating daemons to use as shocktroops when fighting other daemons
custodians need the eyes of the emperor aka the custodians who failed to keep up in the blood games and so ended their duty, leaving their armour and becoming secret spies looking out for troubles outside of the throne to inform the custodes in case of any troubles, they would work actually really well as snipers with hoods lower health due to lacking the custodes armour but being good scout units they could be released first as a kill team since they fit well
for agents of imperium i just want more merchenary options for hire to aid your rouge trader or inquisitor, like a special kroot merchenary team, special ork bloodaxes merchenary team, ecc
for imperial knights give me cool man-sized mechanicus spiders that crawl around the knight and do repairs while the knight is fighting
death guard i want Necrosius, the plague orgyns or if it HAS to be a new things than give me Skaven as a result of a new plague of Nurgle, and say the horned rat is a greater daemon of nurgle that wants to become his own god so then you have a new detachment being the Skavengers
world eatters idk, i dont really care for em but if i had to pick something maybe bring in the slaves they carry around, maybe you can sacrifice them to the blood god for special buffs or something idk
thousand sons thrall wizards from silver towers, which are regular human magicians that are known to be in the silver towers with thousand sons they would have the health and saves of a normal human but they would cast spells from back that would buff the daemons and marines
chaos daemons i want corruptive spirits like ghost-like units that can move in and have a chance at corrupting the enemy units into becoming your new units, idk if it would be determined by morale or a dice roll but point is units that can corrupt weaker enemy infantry like guardsmen into becoming chaos worshippers
for chaos marines i just want more cultist stuff since it feels like it has room to expand like give me dark mechanicum units as special cultists that buff daemon engines or since in the archs of omen we saw sisters go full khorne give us traitor sister cultists
for tyrranids i want breacher nids that would have big reinforced heads sort of like the door head ants they would be what tyrranids send in the front lines durring a breach invasion of an enemy fleet or enemy bunker to soak all the firepower allowing cover for termagants
for genestealer cultists considering that by the 5th generation the DNA can be altered heavily i would want more hybrids but not as messy as the first few gens rather very calculated into creating powerful tyrranid-human mutants, like i want a human with the wings and jaw of a gargoyle that can use guardsmen weapons
for necrons i was a flayer lord simple enough, i want a lord that can buff and make flayed ones more effective
for tau I WANT NICASSARS I WANT NICASSARS GIVE ME THE PSYCHIC SPACE OWL BEAR TAU DONT HAVE GOOD MELEE SO THERE ARE KROOTS TAU DONT HAVE PSYCHERS SO GIVE ME THE NICASSARS
for harlequinns and i will count them cause eldar are at least not ultramarines, give me a 10 model set that depicts the fall of monk'aigh where each harlequinn in question is a mockery depiction of an important character of the imperium like you have malcador, the emperor, horus, Sanguinius and this is a comedy act for the eldar, and all of them are very exagerated like horus has a big frown, Sanguinius is all posh and looks like handsome squidward and the emperor is fat and sitting on a golden chair
for craftworld i want wraith guards that are build for stealth, they should be smaller more human sized and equipped with knives and the ability to go invisible, considering craftworlds would rather not start or prolong an open warfare such units using trickery and speed would fit very well
drukhari i want new models for Sslyth, the four armed snake aliens working under drukhari, i want an entire team of elite merchenary snake people with guns and swords
for orks i want snotlings, they should either be used as an ez heal by bigger boys or taken into weapons and fired adding a bonus damage to the weapon in question, there should be 4-5 snotlings on a base sort of like ripper swarms allowing for them to be used as healing and damage boost 4-5 times before the unit is removed
They already updated the deathwatch kill team, the weapon options scare me because there's a lot of them.
We need a Krieg Marshal and a new Salamander
World eaters need a unit like raptors with a bunch of melee options
necron....canoptec preying mantis!
Gravis Librarian
They need to bring back plague toads. For deathguard, daemon engine made with a plague toads. Or have them mounted by plague bearers
for tzeench......BIRD CAVALRY
Give me tyranid warriors with wings
Hello again!
Space Elves are the best, actually. No idea how you could spend 5 minutes talking about the boring Custodes though.
Guard used to have hoverboards
Is there no timestamp for Votann
Turns out Votann was forgotten. Oh well, they basically needed everything anyways
for tau....give em ZOIDS
Did they just not talk about votann?
Omg we totally forgot them.
@@Bolters_And_Banter don’t worry so did Games Workshop
More canoptek units are necessary given how much nust got axed
Gimme red butcher terminators goddamn gw
MORE CADIANS! MORE CADIANS! MORE CADIANS!
I LOVE CADIANS
I LOVE HAVING TO PAINT THE SAME GENERIC AND FLAVORLESS ARMY MEN AGAIN AND AGAIN
I LOVE CADIANS
You always keep comparing yourselves to poorhammer and saying how theyre better, but I prefer you guys more. Listening to your podcast feels like hanging out with two very dear friends and discussing stuff with them. I think it has a lot to do with your more relaxed style.
That means a lot to us and that’s kind of the vibe we go for. If you wanna actually hangout with us and chat 40K you can always join the discord in the description!
Man, no Votann
You guys are sick and a regular doctor can't help you anymore.
