OK correction and major one . when you install lower and upper arm DO NOT torque the any bolts yet, just connect the tortion bar set tortion bar to a spec they each are under different specs! . Then attach the wheels and lower the car so it sits on the wheels!, only then torque bolts, if you do not do this way you will be replacing bushing again. That is the trickiest part of this job. the best way is to mark it first before you disaamble it. but good job!!!!!!!

Hey thank you for the video!
Your note on Not to loosen the index spline when removing the TB. As long as you do NOT disassemble that end of the TB and only seperate it from the LCA, it would be fine right? I have not removes the TBs before so wanted to verify first. Thank you!

The note was to not loose the index of the spline. Ideally you would just leave that collar on the Torsion bar (the metal piece on the end that holds the bolts) so the teeth stay connected. But in order to get the lower control arm bolts all the way out you have to slide that collar off of the spline/ teeth of the torsion bar. Just mark it with a paint pen or something before you take it off so you can put it back on the same way.

Thanks for showing both the gore and the glory, I just bought a replacement rubber kit for the CV joint when mine had a split. I should have taken more time and painted the upper and lowers like you did, it really turned out nicely and you got a nice driving result.

I read stories about getting the lca budding that’s in the frame looks like you were able to do it without getting all fancy with tools

Many (ihu8mud)guys after doing the uper arm bushing job like you, they reconmmended to change the whole UCA instead, how about your opinnion? for whole 8 contral arms and 4 ball joints replacment, how much time does it cost you?

This job took me a long time! Like 6 hours per side. The only reason I think it was worth it to do myself is because I replaced almost every bushing under my car. It would have been very expensive to buy new parts. Plus, I spread the cost of the tools over all of those jobs. If you only have problems with your UCA, the best route may be to buy new ones!

Great videos! One question is the upper arm stock? Since you lifted with old man emu suspension did you have to change the upper arm? Or is it the same? Thanks!

Yeah mine is stock and I refurbish it in this video. You do not need new upper control arms when you do a 2 inch OME lift. However, with the stock UCAs you can’t get the alignment perfect (ideal camber numbers become unobtainable). In my experience, it’s not a big deal. The shop I go to was able to get very close to perfect alignment and It drives great. If you want to get it perfect (and maybe even get another .5 inch out of the lift, SPC UCAs are adjustable and commonly used to mail the alignment. OME also just came out with new UCAs for the 100 series… I would imagine they are designed to fix the small alignment issues caused by the lift.

Man, these videos are fantastic. I think I will tackle this soon and probably plan to replace the cv axles and front struts at same time.
