- Ocean cruises take you to a country but river cruises take you through a country! This statement is so true! We are starting our river cruise adventure on the Danube in Budapest… where the river is called Duna in Hungarian. And aboard a unique river cruise ship! AmaWaterways is the only company to have a one-of-a-kind ship like this… The AmaMagna is twice as wide as any other cruise ship on the river! And with all that extra space, has only 25% more passenger capacity. So this makes for more public spaces and larger cabins. AmaMagna has a large lounge, four restaurants, a theater and the only pickleball court on the river! And this will be our home for the next 7 days!
An Authentic Hungarian Dinner with Gypsy Music: Instead of eating onboard the first night, we venture out… Our food tour guide recommended a restaurant on the Buda side of the city called Kehil. This is an authentic Hungarian restaurant that was established in 1899. This place has an amazing atmosphere (candlelight, dim rooms and local memorabilia on the walls), but also local Gypsy musicians! You sit and eat delicious food and are serenaded with a unique style of music. Speaking of food… amazing! I had cabbage rolls stuffed with minced pork and roasted pork and flavored with spices that I have no idea what all they were but it was the best meal of the day, and I have had some great food on this day! Dessert was wonderful as well with a trip of spongecakes that just melted in my mouth!

Hi hi hi I keep watching this video I don’t know why I’m drawn to it but I am I love Alaska. I’ve done five Alaska cruises on the Norwegian Bliss and did Panama Canal on the Norwegian Bliss and my sister and brother-in-law were with me my sister and I just did want together, but we were talkingabout possibly doing a river Cruise and I told my sister about you guys and it just happened to be that you had just posted this River Cruise, so I’m quite sure that we are going to be contacting you very very soon. Never had a bad experience on a river cruise regardless of the line. Many suite cabin include free laundry, make sure you check it out before booking.

One day soon....river cruise is happening! Was it expensive?
A river cruise does have a higher price tag but all of the excursions and more are included, so it is a good value. You can save by traveling in the off season as we did here in March.
Awesome video but personally I just started cruising in 2019 I love Alaska I went on the Norwegian Bliss in June 2019. I don’t think I would like the river cruising. I don’t know why I just love Alaska.
Alaska is magical! But I have fallen in love with Europe as well and done both ocean and river cruises here. River just gets you so much closer to everything.
Thank you very much for the info. I have a friend that him and his wife do River cruising he’s never done an ocean cruise. I would love to go to other countries but I don’t do any type of vaccines and right now the way the world is, I think personally for me I would rather just stay right here in the good old USA.

Actually 196 is capacity on the AmaMagna. 160 is capacity on a normal river cruise ship. So approximately 21% more passengers for twice the size of river ship. That’s very appealing, because the smaller ship’s cabin can seem a little tight (170-200 sq ft).
