The one that's not normally seen in such a setting. Though that's my same answer if you replaced symphonic orchestra with any other genre. I love hearing weird instruments, and don't have a particular preference anyways.
Some fun facts about Genshin musics : - Currently the game has about 600 tracks, if you listen to everything that's 18h of music. - The game launched 2 years ago and is supposed to run for 6-7 years more, so it will have A LOT of music. - Genshin is divided in fantasy countries based on real regions in the world so all of them have their own musical style (first one is Germanic countries, second one is China, third one is Japan and fourth is middle east. Later we will also get France, South America and Russia). - Based on this, most of the music is recorded with well known orchestras (London Philharmonic orchestra, Shanghai Symphony orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic orchestra). - Genshin main composer (Yu Peng Chen) is well known in the community and the music team (HoYo-Mix) is also really apreciated, and they deserve it. Finally I have a recommandation. One of the battle theme is called "Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie" and it's a real mix of classical music with some modern instruments, I think that as a musician it's my favorite in Genshin.
@@DrumRollTonyReacts Many of those tracks are different variants of songs (certain cities will have like 3 songs that are similar to each other and then on top of that have morning/day/night versions) but there's still a lot of unique ones
The most impressive thing about the song is actually the lyrics. It's an ancient form of Chinese poetry called Chu Ci (Yes, they're literally singing a poem). The lyrics are about Azhdaha's feelings after being imprisoned due to his erosion (Basically falling into madness due to being alive for too long). It has very conflicting emotions, more so taking in the context the quest where you learn all of this.
Two other suggestions I have are Signora's theme and Elogia Cinerosa. Signora is a harbinger like scaramouche and they are part of the main villain group in the game, hence why they have incredible villainous theme songs and boss fights. Elogia Cinerosa was first heard during a surprise reveal trailer hoyoverse dropped which showcased every single harbinger that had not yet been released. The soundtrack for that trailer is phenomenal as is the trailer itself. I recommend that if you do decide to listen to Elogia Cinerosa then you might want to consider watching the trailer in its entirety beforehand. The trailer is masterful
For more context, yes this is a boss battle ost and we are fighting a semi-divine giant ass earth dragon who has been sealed for far too long to not be angry The language is ancient chinese, for the region where the battle takes place is based on china. :D
I don't follow the lore too closely, but I think Azdaha is angry not because he has been sealed so long, but his long life has "eroded" his mind and it's the problem all long lived souls on Teyvat deal with. Zhongli is feeling it and Ei created the puppet in order to escape becoming like that.
The whole soundtrack from Genshin Impact is just a blast to listen to. They very frequently combine traditional instruments for specific game regions (i.e Inazuma will have Japanese traditional instruments, Liyue=Chinese, Sumeru=Indian/Middle-Eastern) with modern instruments and orchestras.
Everyone is recommending boss themes, so i'll recommend "Die Mitsommernacht Fantasie" (The Midsummer Night Fantasy), from Genshin of course. Think of this track as Vivaldi's Four Seasons - Summer, but modern. One of my favourite battle themes in Genshin
Track list of some pretty cool songs from the OST: Symphony of Boreal Wind Never-Ending Performance Wrath of Monoceros Caeli Saltatio Favillae Thundering of the Merciless/The Almighty Violet Thunder (Same songs just different instruments)
Man, Genshin music just hits different. Although I must say, I still don't understand why almost no one talks about "Destined Parting", it was played at one of the most emotional parts of the entire story and still I've only seen the official video and orchestra recording...
Genshin’s basic OSTs are also so good, when they released Sumeru recently I just stopped in a harbor and had to listen to the music playing in the background. If there’s any good thing to say about the game, it’s that the music is always phenomenal. Love these breakdowns, keep them up!
I generally end off my genshin session sitting in Vanarana in the middle of the pond where i can hear the Aranara singing along to the music, wonderful experience.
Dud sometime when im organizing artefact, I surprise myself just listening and forget what I was doing lmfao. Like that time I was in the sumeru pub with the jazz.(WTF they made a soundtrack for a random location).
Yes this is a boss fight music and defo one of my favorite osts from early ish game, now theres so many good osts its hard to choose but this is definitely high up there
I love this breakdown. As others have suggested, Signora's battle theme is another great one. The Raiden Shogun's battle theme is yet another. There's also Tartaglia's battle theme, and Andrius battle theme.
I hope one day you will react to an OST called "Sumeru".. This is something incredible, I was very impressed when I first heard it. Also, I advise the ost "Hustle and Bustle of Ormos"
If you ever want more genshin recommendations, aside from the great boss themes and die mit sommernatch, I also highly recommend the underrated and oft slept on chasm battle theme Inevitable Conflict. It gives off major Rachmaninoff vibes
So exited to discover your channel. I fell in love with Genshin Impact music, and Azdaha’s theme is one of my favorites. I thinks combines perfecto modern music with classical music, and music from different cultures.
Oh my God, I can't believe that you are reacting to Genshin's soundtrack! I came straight from Scaramouche's theme reaction, and I can't wait for your next one! One of my favorite pieces is Zhongli's theme, he's kind of a God from Liyue, a nation that's inspired by China, so his theme is kind of a mixture between chinese music with modern music, and it's so good! By the way, sometimes Genshin also releases some live performances videos from these themes, so if you ever are curious about how these pieces sound live, you can check that out. 😄
Someone in the discord PLEASE recommend the sad string track that only plays near the base of Narukami mountain. I dont know its name, but the sound is so distinct that if you know, you know. It's the only track that has made me tear up from its melancholy beauty.
I recommend you to watch the live concert of genshin, the new arrangement they do to the original tracks are amazing too, specially the last one, it´s marvelous, I always get amazed of how wonderful music the hoyo mix team create and the story they tell with the tunes, so accurate to the game, also its super cool hoy musicians, composer and music producers gets the story line only lisent the tracks and then become genshin players only for the music lol
I really recommend checking out "duel in the mist inazuma battle ost theme mv" on the official genshin impact channel. Each instrument is doing its own thing, requiring perfect timing, yet it all works. Would be very interesting to hear your opinion about it
If you are loving the Genshin OST, I would also recommend character themes. Some of my favorites are Zhongli, Raiden Shogun, Kamisato Ayato/Ayaka, and Xiao
