Great game, feel really bad because this release around Super Mario World & Sonic 1 & this got lil notice because of it. Love the music too
I finally managed to beat this game the other day. While this is my favorite game in the series, towards the end of this game, the difficulty gets ridiculous with all the crap the game starts throwing at you. You start to notice the issues with the hit detection.
oh I noticed that you skipped an entire section of the game with that warp in the beginning. Would have been nice to have that included as there are some neat enemies and bosses in world 2.
The one, ONE thing that makes it hard for me to rate this over Bonk's Adventure is the clashing sound channels where the music gets blotted out by the sound effects. Bonk's Adventure didn't have this problem so it boggles my mind how that aspect got worse in the sequel when everything else was improved.

At 0:55 he doesn't bonk either of the flowers, instead jumping on them normally. He could have gotten an extra life and a yellow flower that allows him to jump up to the bonus level. That bothers me, but otherwise I think he did a good job.
They always make it look so easy.

@@SpeccyHorace It is an upgrade, 8 bit console that was pretty impressive, to a 16 bit console that was pretty impressive. Crazy thing is, there are Bonk games on both.
I know I'm not the only person bothered by how many secrets this player is missing. For one thing, you can turn the turbo switch on and hold it down while spinning. And you can head butt flowers to make them change colors to cooler powerups, he misses both of these at 0:53. Maybe he's using an emulator and maybe he's just playing the game for the first time, who knows.
My cousin gave me his TurboGrafx when I was a kid. I already had SNES but this one of the games it came with. I gotta say, this was so much better than Super Mario in terms of detail and fun. I loved collecting all those little things floating around for extra points and the bonus point levels were amazing. It felt so in depth compared to other similar games.

djkcel I know, right? When I play this game, I want the full experience, so I make sure to collect no more than 49 Smileys in a level (pausing the game shows how many you have.)

I trade this game and my turbo grafix 16 for my friend's SNES and super Mario world. He wanted his stuff back the next day. But it was already mines. Lol. I miss this game though!

So much potential on this one, sadly it suffers a lot from problems with the level and game design overall, the first one is more enjoyable than this

PC Engine is an 8 bit system, much younger than the NES and SMS, so those years later it came out, technology had greatly improved, and Hudson and NEC took great advantage of it.

Yeah. In terms of the processor only. Also keep in mind this game was released after the add-ons/enhancements were added to the original hardware including CD-ROM. A bit more advanced than the NES.
