One of my friends linked me to your video series ( she has traveled several times abroad and because this is my first she sent me your way to help) I just began packing my bag with the space saver bags and OMG it is amazing. All of my undergarments and socks in one of the carry one sized bags and 10 days worth of shirts and sweaters in 2 bags has saved me so much space and makes it super organized (and since I tend to live in disorganization it would have been bad trust me). I never would have thought to use these so thank you so much for the tip! :)
Thank you Sonia! This is a good reminder. I've been doing this for years with giant zip lock storage bags. Most of my international travel is in the winter months. I'm not a "light" packer but I manage to get it all into a carry-on and a honking huge tote bag! I'm a long sweater and leggings girl so there's a lot of sweater bulk. Those plastic bags are a lifesaver!
I love how you always look so stylish on your travels! Would you do a video on packing for a theme park holiday? Having to contend with the heat whilst staying comfortable is never easy.
Sonia, I totally agree with using those bags for winter travel!! Picked up ours at BBB (w/20% off coupon). We did New Year's in Boston, 6 days, family of 4 (toddler and 11 year old) with 2 carryons and 3 backpacks. We wore the bulky stuff on the plane(except all the snow pants went into one space bag), and still had space for souvenirs! And since there was a blizzard and we are from FL, we all wore 5 layers of clothes, so it's not like I went light on packing the base layers and thick socks. I hope more people learn about this great tip!

What are some tips for packing a carry-on with a 15 lb weight limit? I'm going on a two week trip and dont want to check in my luggage (big fear of it getting lost on the way).
Loved the vid - but my problem is never that I can't FIT it in, but that my bag is overweight. A pair of heavy boots, heavy winter sweaters...tons of room to spare in my luggage just not allowed to bring it!
What if you're leaving during the summer time but staying till the winter time or a little after? It would be too hot and awkward to wear a winter jacket on the plane when leaving in the summer time… So what would be the best ways to winter jackets?
I actually wouldn't wear a bulky winter jacket on the plane at all. When you're on a plane, it's better to layer up, so if you're hot, you just take off the layers, and if you're cold, just add more layers. So I would wear the jacket Sonia packed for cool weather on the plane, since it's not too bulky.
Dear Sonya, it might help reduce the number of items you carry by choosing a collection of clothes that all work with each other. It reduces the number of items you have to carry. And compression bags are nice, but the weight is the same. When I travel I am very conscious of the weight I might find myself forced to lug from one place to another. Pack light. Be mobile.
Good job, but I always say the same thing, if you want an excelent job and more friends subscribed, your videos need subtitles. For me and a lot of people is easier understand reading at the same time. If further the subtitles are in Spanish would be great news. Thanks!
