Wow that’s a large unstuffing. Enjoyed this very much. That buffer came in handy good thing you had one in each binder. Very impressed with your spending. I always seem to go over.

Aww man - I hear you, baby stuff is so expensive. I love how you work through your unstuffings - yup a little chaotic, but made perfect sense. I think the timbre of your voice is really soft and your pitch is quite low - I enjoy it and it is certainly no criticism. Its worth noting that some people start to lose hearing at lower frequencies - it rarer than high pitched hearing loss, but it tends to look like finding it harder to speak over the phone than face to face and difficulty with low pitched voices. Just speaking from experience, I had this due to impacted ear wax - gross, but totally fixable!

Why don’t you add up all category expense and take out the money then? Seems like this way you leave room for error.

Planet fitness is $10.00 per month with a $39.00 annual fee. Seems like you put up a lot of money towards your gym membership.

I go to an all-women's gym for $50/month that gives me unlimited access to classes. And then I pay $40 a month for weekly small group classes (basically personal training but with a few other people there too to keep it cost-effective). The gym is my FAVORITE hobby, so I'm comfortable spending $90 a month on it!

Honey, just a reminder and I know I dont have to tell you that budgeting isnt pulling hundreds from another account because you over spend in the intended account or because you hadnt saved enough yet but bought it anyway. That is still robbing Peter to pay Paul, is a move that people that live pay check to pay check do and Im certain its not something that you want to "teach" your subscribers is the correct way to budget. Remember, that if you want something, you need to save for the entire thing BEFORE ordering it or just arbitrarily additional things (like camera equipment that you hadnt even planned on and the $75 sign) until you save for it in full. I know it wasnt a problem for you to just pull it from other categories, but its not the responsible thing to do and is a slippery slope. It can give one a sense of false hope and false security when and if the other categories need something and you have already depleted the other savings envelopes from unplanned overspending.
I feel like it would be a great teaching video and the responsible thing for you to do a video: that shit DOES happen and sometimes we do have to move things around to make them work or to cover a few bucks here and there However, its a VERY slippy slope, shouldnt be done for hundreds+ of dollars at a time or month and it shouldnt be a regular thing we do, ever. It just shows that you under budgeted for something or were impatient to get what you wanted. And its why a misc or Oh Shit (thats what I call mine) envelope is so important, it should have more than $5 in it. And, people really should only do it for very small amounts where you under estimated the cost of something. Or the risk is blowing your entire budget system and going thru all of the work to do cash budgeting for no good reason. I mean, if you are going to just pull money from other needed categories to cover your unintentional and un budgeted over spending, you arent being intentional nor are you budgeting, right? ;0)
EDIT TO ADD: If people are doing this often (like so many below have mentioned) its time to start using cash only and up front rather than a credit or debit card, which is the whole point of envelope stuffing in the first place. A person should do this until they feel they can be responsible and intentional about only spending the amount of money they have in any such category/envelope,

Lol I read the first 2 sentences and just immediately stopped. My subscribers will let you know their thoughts I’m sure, but I do not think I am “teaching” anything irresponsible. I have plenty of well-funded categories and I AM intentional in my budget. Your response was quite condescending and I do not appreciate it. I am not here to teach anyone anything. I’m here to share my journey. So please do not lecture me on intentionality and what it does or does not look like for me.

Yeah, it's not like she's taking money out of her rent envelope to pay for something. She's moving money around from other sinking funds to pay for something. Having watched her videos for over a year and a half, she's pretty sound in her budgeting journey, paying off a substantial amount of debt and still being able to travel and do other things. All these budgeting videos are fun to watch to get ideas and personally I think it's fun to see how others spend their money, but I have a hard time imagining that there are people dumb enough to look these videos as teaching them how to budget. Budgeting is completely individualized because of the variables that just can't be universal...amount they make, what their expenses are, what their priorities are etc. The original comment here was so condescending and just ignorant. Why do trolls feel the need to do this? Like why even follow someone or watch their videos if you do it just to criticize? Move along lol
