Don't let this distract you from the fact that Globo Gym blew a 4-1 man advantage over young Justin to let Average Joes come back to win the ADAA International Dodgeball Tournament to create one of the greatest shocks in sporting history.
2:05 his reaction and how he disappears his seriously the funniest part of the movie. Like he's a phantom or something but just slow enough to be noticed entirely haha
Goodman was arrogant and could've caught that throw justin threw but just knocked away. As the commentary said they're just toying with him.......that cost them big
Ben Stiller is at his best when he's playing villains just look at Happy Gilmore, heavyweights, and of course this movie! I love how Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn reversed the protagonist and antagonist roles because in Starsky and Hutch Vince Vaughn played the bad guy and Ben Stiller play the good guy.
Back in Jr. High School back in the early 70's in Cocoa Beach on rain days in P.E. class the gym teachers would let us play "Battle Ball" on the basketball court...it was a brutal no rules dodge ball game...(well the only rule was you couldn't throw behind a person or from their side...so technically as long as they were one step in front of you the cross court side throws were legal)...we'd pick teams which would have like 20 plus on each team, everyone would get on the basketball back lines and the coaches would dump a couple bags of volleyballs in the middle of the court and blow the whistle and it was game on...it was brutal as hell and the weak kids got the hell knocked out of them...even in those pre PC days I sometimes shuddered when a weak nerdy kid with glasses got slammed cross court in the face by one of the big arms...but we all loved it.
my 8th grade year in middle school back in 08' in PE it was always 3 PE teachers and they'd all have their own little class but we'd all do the main activities together. And we would play dogdeball it would be the 1's vs the 2's. Like 25 kids on one side of the basketball court and 25 on the other side. That was soooo crazy and fun. I miss those days.
JahiSun I was in Jr. High School (7th - 9th grade back in the day) in '69 - '71 and on rainy days we'd play a BRUTAL version dodgeball called Battle Ball...two of the most athletic kids would be captains and they'd just keep picking kids for each team until all the kids were accounted for...I would estimate about 25 on each side also...then the coaches would roll out volley balls and it was on...the only rules were you couldn't run out of the basketball court out of bounds and that you weren't allowed to throw at someone's back...anyone was free to run into the other side and attack as they saw fit...it never failed that one of the weak nerdy kids would get his face slammed for not having his head on a swivel...it was brutal as hell, but we always asked the coaches to let us play when it rained...nothing like that would be allowed in today's PC world.
When I was in High School, sophomore year (12 years ago), we played dodge ball in the gym. I remember my team was alright, but then I was the last person on my team still in. I had to avoid so many throws and making sure I didn't get out. I had to do this for like 30-45 seconds. After the time was up, and nobody got me out, my whole team was able to come back in. I was the hero of my team. I couldn't believe I did it. Even for the team.
Wow. 15 years and I just now realized that Ben Stiller basically played the exact same character in the movie Heavyweights in 1995. 90s kids know what's up.
Today is a very special day peeps. On this day, Peter La Fleur beats White Goodman in Sudden Death to give Average Joe's Gym the Championship over Globo gym. Touché
I just realised the sports announcer is the actor who played Mike Brady in the Brady Bunch remake. The blonde chick, Stiller wife was also in the movie played Marcia.
Watched this again last night, and I JUST realized the guy who played Me'Shell is the same guy who plays Zeke in Brooklyn 99. "Tiny Terry loves his pickles!"
Eu brincava disso quando era criança, nos rincões do Brasil, só que aqui se chamava "queimado". Estou surpreso em saber que se trata de um "esporte" de verdade.
If White Goodman would have been the last Purple Cobra standing against 3 Joes, I bet White would have said, “I am not going down without a fight!” before Mechelle jumping in front of White to prevent losing
I really love when Ben Stiller plays villains in movies ,he can pull it off so well and still be funny lol
Exactly. The movie Heavyweights is seriously underrated, Ben Stiller is fantastic in that movie.
probably a douche irl
It must be the hair, and also the mustache
U should see him in happy Gilmore as a orderly
COMO ESTÁN BEETCHES!
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Globo Gym blew a 4-1 man advantage over young Justin to let Average Joes come back to win the ADAA International Dodgeball Tournament to create one of the greatest shocks in sporting history.
Almost as bad as the Helsinki episode of 1919, and I think we all remember how THAT turned out!
khayle05 I came from the meme
dont let that distract you from the fact that the warriors blew a 3-1 lead to the cavs in the greatest comeback and shock in sports history
Chicago Cubs: Hold our beer first.
khayle05 Thank You. Justin was Robbed of that MVP.

They did such a good job making this look like such a competitive and professional sport. Well done.
Dodgeball is a competitive sport?
@@amadandearbhte4318in some places, it is.
I can see this being a legit sport if it was implemented to this level.
Gault05 it technically IS a sport
Catching the ball would be 2 easy with people training in this for hours per day. You would basically be watching people throw each other the ball.
Have you seen professional dodgeball? they're not exactly catching a ball non stop.
Dodgeball is great fun to play to be fair
Gault05 Vince McMahon should have invested in this, instead of the XFL
Globogym blew a 4-1 man lead in the dodgeball championship
They're worse than the Warriors!
And the Atlanta Falcons.

Ben Stiller is easily the best part about this whole movie. He's hilarious in this movie, imo.
I honestly always loved the dynamic between him and Vince Vaughn. First film I ever saw of either of them.

If you can dodge a ball, you can dodge a wrench.
It looks like Bateman is trying not to bust out laughing after Stiller says, "Joanie Loves Chachi!"
I like to think it's actually Pepper really enjoying White's roasts
I don't think the actor playing the ref gets enough credit for doing such a great job acting out his part.
Patches was the greatest dodgeball coach ever! Without him, average joes wouldn’t have made it this far in the movie. RIP MR. Torn
Patches coached average joes, not Globo Gym. :p
Neon Eviscerate sorry it’s been a while since I’ve seen this movie. I must’ve got the teams mixed up.
Patches was the best part of this film.

Possibly my favourite of all Ben Stiller roles.

Ben Stiller's overacting went way over the top in this movie.
And it was glorious
I think that was the point of his character. He was an over the top person lol 😂
All his characters are. He’s brilliant at it
Dodgeball doesn't build character, it reveals it!

Heavyweights is a prequel to Dodgeball
Imagine if average joe’s lost. Peter would be homeless for life.

0:41 we’ve all literally said that exact in the exact same way with the exact same point at some time in our lives when playing dodgeball in school.
Ben Stiller is the man in that movie so funny
Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn are great together. They made a great arch nemesis duo.
This movie was so great
