I'm an Aussie,-that loves old Aeroplanes,-I went through there,-on the way to Genesio-Museum-!!-in 2015--the sound of those old Radials,-is Magic !!--4-on a B17-is even better !!-your doing a Great-Job !!
Old rhinebeck deserves the best you can give it! It is the place that is the mother of all our collective obsession with early aviation! The planes that are there have been there through the years is amazing! Coles' creation is a passion project from the beginning. Im glad i got to work there with Cole (&Rita) the whole King family yes Karl ,Brian, Kenny- so many really amazing people, machines and exprience. I could go on- suffice to say the aerorome is the historical represention of the history presentation of the Dream of early aviating; its creation sprung from the heart, i hope that can be conveyed in your videos as you edit them.
I used to work with Carl Erickson who used to work at old Rhinbeck. Sounds like the most authentic and true to history museum in the country. Can’t learn from the past if you don’t accurately recall it. Thanks for doing what you do
I visited Old Rhinebeck years ago, maybe 2010, and arrived after the airshow. Management invited me to stay to watch it the next day but my family wanted to go home, so I had to be satisfied with walking the flight line and then glancing into some of the hangars packed with ancient, WW I-era airplanes, cars, and other equipment. Even more than the airplanes I was impressed by an Austin 7. I recognized it from pictures but it was a scary, fragile little thing that I wouldn't have dared drive at 10 mph -- even if I could have squeezed myself into it. It really showed technological change in a way you couldn't really judge from pictures.
@@HistAvFilmUnit My father knew the original owner who made the whole thing. He always had caster oil all over him from the engines like a old time ww1 pilot ! 😄
Thank you for this wonderful compilation of beautiful birds! ❤ Can't wait to see more! Did the Curtiss trainer go up? Loved the blip switch on landings, what a learning curve that would have been! I wish I could like this more than once!😂 Pure joy!!!!
I would make one suggestion. Each time a new aircraft makes it's appearance, put a title at the bottom of the screen as to what aircraft it is. I recognize most but I'm sure that there are many viewers who have no idea what plane they are seeing.
I had no idea that place even existed! 😳 Are the airplanes authentic, or are they reproductions? I live in central Virginia. There used to be an “aerodrome” in northern Virginia that had a few examples of WWI vintage airplanes that were still flyable. They would put on shows on the weekends and I was lucky enough to be able to see a show once when I was a kid. The aerodrome is still there, I believe, but they don’t have the WWI vintage planes anymore. I’d love to visit this place in New York, but I don’t know if I’ll ever get the chance. 🙁
Some are originals some are reproductions. It's we'll worth a trip to Old Rhinebeck to see the aircraft in person, and tis video doesn't even show what they have in the museum!

I've been there a few times. I had a great time. Watching the old planes fly and you can even pay for a flight in the old plane. That was fun

Go, go, go. Have a road trip. Leave the family at home. Spend all weekend at Old Rhinebeck. You won't regret it.
Hoping for a detailed video of the Bristol Fighter, a personal favorite.
Certainly got some good footage of it, so yes, there will be detailed video coming 😁
I haven't been to the Rienbeck, N.Y., U.S.A. Aerodrome since 1985. Lots has changed since then.
Wonderful place ! 😎
It really is!
