    As a black woman that has never interracially dated but wants to, Joey’s response is what I would want to hear from a potential partner. His self-awareness and awareness of the world has shaped him into the person he is. And his courage to take on the ignorance of the world with Charity by his side is amazing. I really hope she chooses him!

    I wish they didn't have to have this convo and could concentrate on growing their love, but the reality is (as Charity mentioned) this topic is still relevant in this day and age. It's a convo that needs to be had. Congrats to both for handling it with such grace❤❤❤ and class.

      It would be nice to live in lala land with lemon drops n rainbows but the reality is that's not the case. Once folks take of their blinders and come back to Earth then they will see the importance of having this discussion. To be frank this should be discussed on the first or second date.

      I don't agree at all. I've been black all my life and I don't think these conversations are necessary at all. It's 2023, there are so many interracial relationships now. Honestly, most people don't care.

I feel like she’s socialized to choose Xavier and Dalton, but they give out platonic brother sister vibes. Charity and Joey have deep sexual and romantic chemistry.

      I mean this conversation is important to have when you’re dating a person that isn’t the same skin color as you. It’s a reality that both of you will have to face together and it’s important to talk about so you can be together while still giving each other what you need as you navigate. As sad as it is, there are some people who will always give interracial couples a lot of shit just for being together. That’s not something you can just gloss over.

      This conversation touches me deeply knowing what my friend is going through. She is a black woman engaged to a white man and his family is uncomfortable with it. She has to endure racism from them as well. I honestly don't even know why she is going the distance when everytime she encounters them she is left in tears. When will we ever be comfortable with each other without treating one race as inferior?
