- One New Jersey man has found himself in the middle of a firestorm amid accusations that he's the hunter who killed Pedals, the beloved bear who walked upright. Pedals was legally killed Sunday with a bow and arrow during the first day of hunting season in New Jersey. Tom McCreary, a bar owner, was targeted after he posted what was perceived as a threat to kill Pedals on the bear's Facebook page prior to the animal's death. McCreary claims it wasn't him. #InsideEdition

Whoever killed a disabled bear by luring him with apples is a real fine specimen of a man. Maybe this POS can be reincarnated as a lion or tiger in Africa, get caught by some poachers and put in a small cage, and then get decimated by one of his cowardly brethren in a manner similar to what he did with this bear. Regardless of whether or not he’s the one who did it, he posted - under his actual, easily traceable identity - that he wanted to kill the bear because he’s a hunter. That’s like being an established bank-robber, saying you’d like to rob your local (insert bank chain here), and then shortly thereafter said bank is robbed. Who knows if Pedals was in pain because of his injuries, its not that natural for a black bear to be walking around all the time on his back legs. Don't get me wrong, I'm sad about Pedal's death, but an injured animal (especially a black bear) is extremely dangerous to be around/have around, and have roaming around in people's backyards and neighborhoods where young, clueless children, could be playing. This could sound stupid but it could be logical: If a young child knows and loves yogi bear, they could try to walk up to Pedals thinking that the bear is all friendly. A injured bear or any other animal WILL protect itself if it feels threatened.
