Andria II & Alex II - First Egg at KNF - 01-30-25

Egg #1 arrived earlier this morning! We cannot be more pleased.
Kisatchie National Forest (KNF), Louisiana
There are three nests located within the forest on Kincaid Lake known as: E-1 (E1-F3 and E1-M2), E-2 (nest has fallen apart), and E-3 (Alex II and Andria II). Our Bald Eagle nests are located a little more than 100 feet above the ground, in the tops of Loblolly Pine trees near the shore of Kincaid Lake (Kincaid Lake is approximately 1768 acres) Evangeline Unit, Calcasieu Ranger District, Kisatchie National Forest, Rapides Parish, central Louisiana. In forested areas, eagles usually select one of the tallest living trees for their nest, and they prefer a site that is close to water.
