I cannot think of a better actor for this role, mr atkinson is a de facto petrol head and connaiseur of vintage motorcars. I'm excedingly greatful for your uploading this smashing dramatization. *HUZZAH!*
@@anthonywbelcher too true it’s just wrong. Kids today watch idiots breaking expensive things and upsetting innocent people on tik tok and it’s making us brain dead. I remember going to my pops and he had model war planes and military equipment as he fought in WW2 he lied about his age he was fighting at just 16. An Australian 🇦🇺 I was always so proud of him and I loved his stories though I realised as I grew older that he made the stories a bit funny and left out the darkness and horror of your best mate getting disintegrated right beside him. He talked of certain men that could just live through amazing things like a full machine gun assault where they ran over 50 metres and took the trench. I can’t see teens today doing anything like the teens from the 20th century as they are just babies. I’m hitting my 40’s and I’m a musician so I’m out at clubs and pubs every weekend and I can beat the shit out of any kid under 22 easily as they just shit themselves as I’ve been fighting since I was 7 with my brother and I played rugby league from the age of 7 till 28 when I fractured my spinal column.
With that cast and that story, it was always going to be good. Deeply poignant though. What a time to have been alive! Amazing hedonism and brilliant men in sheds making the future.
What a great story and we'll played by Rowan Atkinson. Tellible ending for the poor chap. Blood poisoning from an exhaust burn. Who would have thought such a thing was possible.
Poignant story - Mr Atkinson played a blinder in this old film. He was perfect casting for this story. The height of respect to both him and Mr Birkin .
the blower bentleys were a legend in their day. my great grandfather had one. unfortunately he didn't have the skills to race and bet on himself. pop went the family fortunes and then the war came and finished off the family.
Some critics could watch this and say it is corny. I think it is superb story telling in its simplicity. It is not a 2 h drama with millions spent recreating the race cars (because it is not about the cars!). It captures the essence of the man, through dialogue and simple visual cues. I was wishing he wouldn't die, and end the story.
It's interesting if you look up Micky Burn on Wikipedia. He appears to have had a very interesting life. Also if you can get hold of a copy of full Throttle it is an interesting read.
I can't get Captain Edmund Blackadder out of my mind - he fought in the First World War! Perhaps there was a cunning plan how to earn money by horsepower!
What an odd ending to his life, I checked wikipedia before finishing the video expecting him to have died in a crash, not a burn from an exhaust pipe. The image I got from there was that he was bending under the car searching for the lighter, not sitting next to the damn thing.
Hello There,I'm dipu from Bangladesh working with dubbing project.I don't know will you allow me or not to ask a question.I want to dub this movie Full throttle. Is it possible?? This is superb... mr atkinson invested in motorsport as he is was brilliant for this role..
Nothing can get in the way of a damn good actor who's sincerely invested in his character. Bravo! (And R.I.P Captain Tim Birkin)

Although this is a rare drama role for Rowan Atkinson, his comic moments still come out in this.
Again, very impressive piece. Before I saw this, Tim Birkin was just a name on the cover of a book. This really brought his story to life :)
Yes it's great it's one of my favourite documentaries and I never get tired of watching it. Just sorry the video quality isn't the best
Videos quality seems fine.@@anthonywbelcher
Wonderful and brilliant acting by Rowan Atkinson.

@@elenangel9492 right..
Watched both and I cried at the end. Why aren’t we taught this at school I never knew about this hero.
There must be a lot of heros we never hear about.

Cheers for the upload. I watched this on TV when it came out. Never thought I'd get a chance to see it again. Many thanks.
Thank you for uploading this film. It moved me.
No problem as I said it's one of my favourite films too
Thanks for uploading! Starting to really get into the history of auto racing and came across this. "Cheers" from America!
Glad you enjoyed a taste of English Motor History
rest in peace old chap I will never forget you.
Who?
With that cast and that story, it was always going to be good. Deeply poignant though. What a time to have been alive! Amazing hedonism and brilliant men in sheds making the future.
Great adaptation, thankyou very much for posting it. My only regret is that they couldn’t find some who looked more like WO!
Thanks from old New Orleans 😎 you have brought history to life .
Yep it's one of my favourite films I never tire of watching it
You never TYRE of watching racing cars - that's where the rubber hits the road!
What a great story and we'll played by Rowan Atkinson. Tellible ending for the poor chap. Blood poisoning from an exhaust burn. Who would have thought such a thing was possible.
Fantastic film. They were real heroes - guts and glory!
Poignant story - Mr Atkinson played a blinder in this old film. He was perfect casting for this story. The height of respect to both him and Mr Birkin .
Respect.
I only saw before when it was first shown, superb, superb now.
Julian Majzub driving the white Mercedes Benz!
Wonderful ... thanks for uploading this!
the blower bentleys were a legend in their day.
my great grandfather had one.
unfortunately he didn't have the skills to race and bet on himself.
pop went the family fortunes and then the war came and finished off the family.
Love the imaginary fairy tale got any more as I love a good😅 bedtime story.
ESPACLY one filled with bovine Dung !
Thanks for these. Forgot about this gem. It's Dagmar from AWP series 1.
A more elegant age .... damn it it was a far more elegant age than now when this was made in 1994!
Thanks Sir Bean Atkinson for bloody good acting.
You just don’t get productions like this anymore as it doesn’t fit modern society, fascinating chap and Rowan, as ever, played the part perfectly.
I agree the world's gone mad
Smoking in the pits, times have changed.
Too true..
Only 36 year old! I can't believe it!
Unfortunately lots of heros come to a sticky end
Excellent little video...
I'm so pleased you liked it as you say it's a great film
"The Bentley Boys"!
✌️🤠💥🌟🌀👍
Amazing!
Thoroughly enjoyable 👍
Glad you liked it. It's one of my favourite programs
Tyre squell in the wet??? 😄😂😁 The sound department were a bit overzealous

It's lovely, simply the best.

Wasn't Micky Burn a Colditz POW alongside Pat Reid and Airey Neave?
What a guy!
Absolutely a wonderful chap
I still can't get Mr. Bean out of my mind.
I can't get Captain Edmund Blackadder out of my mind - he fought in the First World War! Perhaps there was a cunning plan how to earn money by horsepower!
Two of Britons quality names, Rowan Atkinson & Bentley
What an odd ending to his life, I checked wikipedia before finishing the video expecting him to have died in a crash, not a burn from an exhaust pipe. The image I got from there was that he was bending under the car searching for the lighter, not sitting next to the damn thing.
Is the Mickley burn of SAS fame ?
The only problem with this is Rowen is playing this like Terry Thomas in Montie Carlo or bust
Amusing to think that a century ago the top speed was 90mph!
Shame he had to go out like that, hardly a fitting end for such a racing hero

Sorry I really do not know I'm afraid I cannot help you
mr bean hates the smell of perfume in a department store i dont think mr bean would like the ciggrette that rowan smoking now lol
Also Dorothy Paget was very much not interested in men - the romance angle here doesn’t quite ring true.
Poetic license, but overall a glimpse into to the life of a Bentley Boy
A heap of inaccurate tosh from the outset. Always a pleasure to see Rowan Atkinson, though every role he plays is a version of 'Blackadder'.
It may well be, I don't know or don't care. It's just a pleasure to watch.
