Well. I think we can't avoid the topic any longer. This is song is likely about an ex-friend of Mel's who falsely accused her of r*pe. This is probably one of the first instances of canceling on the internet. Melanie was absolutely crucified for this. People were burning her merch, digging up old videos of her being awkward on stage in an attempt to make it seem like she hated her fans, accusing her of sexualizing children, etc. It was insane. This song is likely the result of these experiences. Your analysis was 100% spot on tho considering you probably didn't know about the allegations.
It basically came about an inch from ending her career. I guess it was later that people started believing Melanie's version instead. Chris Hardwick is the only other person I know who pulled this off.

I don’t think humans are naturally narcissistic. Kids are narcissistic, and the internet rewards people for acting like kids with validation and attention, so we do it because we’re all suffering and validation and attention feel good. And the internet gives it for free for acting like a kid, so it’s so easy for people to do.
So this song was meant to be a scene in k-12 but was cut due to cost of the movie so it became a credit song and was kept off the album for the upcoming after school ep

Religion by itself is not inherently bad and teaches people to judge and hate who do not believe in it , but what makes it " bad" is how imperfect humans handle it. Many would twist what they learn to fit their narrative and make others follow it. Biggest example how the religion of islam is being twisted because its associated with arab culture. As an arab i can say A Lot of arabs are judgmental and can be hateful and ignorant and so the religion that they mostly follow is islam so islam is now said to be hateful etc..... sorry to bring religion into this comment section thats supposed to be fun..
