Looks like it was a fun session! Also looks like you weren´t too powered but still had enough to get some decent unhooked raileys in. I read that the older versions of the CBL were a bit heavy and had a ton of rocker which made it hard to get going when you weren´t decently powered at least. I´m looking for a dedicated wakestyle board to ride with boots but would love to also be able to work on my unhooked riding while being a bit underpowered and not only when I´m super lit. I was thinking about the 142cm for my 82 kg to get the most surface underneath me but I´m a bit afraid of the weight. What is your experience concerning the low end on the 2020 and do you know if there´s a difference with the 2019 model in regard to that? I have a good deal on a new 2019 in 142 cm but can´t find any data on weight and rocker online. Cheers in advance!
Love the videos mate! I’m between the CBL and the Xcal Carbon, I want something for freestyle/maybe cable but I’m worried that the CBL with have too much rocker for an all around board (I’m currently on an old Refraction) what are your thoughts about the two boards?
Hey dude! Sorry, missed your comment earlier. XCal Carbon would be my choice if I'd be switching between boots and straps for sure. It's easier to hold and edge and stay upwind on the XC when in straps bud. But if you only ride boots then the CBL is the way to go. Super smooth in chop - you're literally flying over everything, loads of sweet pop and very chilled landings, even when you're coming in hot due to the rocker line but also the channels. Not to mention that CBL has a grind base so if you're as lazy as I am, riding up the beach doesn't really bother the board too much. XC is EPIC for cross-over stuff, it's got more pop than CBL but it's way more fragile. Goes up wind better but it has less rocker so you have to watch out more on hot landings not to catch the nose and slap yer face on the water. Pro's and con's to both! Give me a shout if you want one, I can source one at a very decent price!
Hot stuff Buddy !
