[SFM] White Lie Shorts #6: The "Church" Guy

- Another short video for the time being while working on Episode 3 Part 2. This one is another scene deleted to make Episode 2 Part 4 from being too long and happens after the previous "deleted scene" short video. This means this took place after Zoey and Ellie were separated from the rest and before the finale.
In this short, Bill and Coach's groups were reunited and safe from the Tank attack thanks to Wade. While making their way to Ellis's garage, Coach and Bill had a brief argument over whether or not they should go to New Orleans, with Bill sticking to his new idea of finding a sailboat and surviving on their own away from the army. Francis and Rochelle support Coach, Nick supports Bill. Later, they ran into a character well known in the main L4D universe as "The Church Guy", though he isn't in a church this time.
However, as shown by Episode 2 part 4's finale, the group settled with going to New Orleans, including Nick, who eventually convinced Bill to give the military another chance.
Unlike my older videos, this one has a lot of focus on animation put into it as there is little to no action scenes and all the talking might get boring. I also used this opportunity to practice my rusty animation skills, especially now that I am no longer a soldier.

I always wondered what the L4D2 characters would say if they met the L4D Church Guy. Glad to see at least Nick's responses. and they fit quite well :3
This whole animation in itself was wonderfully done. :-)
I'd said this before but I'm still amazed how you make believable interactions with only the survivors provided lines in the games. Awesome storytelling and very cool sfm animation

You know it's kinda weird to know that the "church guy" was portrayed by Scout's voice actor from TF2. Every time that I hear him in Death Toll, the first thing that comes from my mind is a non-cartoonish Scout from the L4D universe. Aswell a Tank who is like an infected, non-russian Heavy.
I'm wondering if The Church Guy is actually The Screamer.

And I thought that "church" guy is going to ring some sort of alarm in order to alert the horde and get our heroes in trouble again. But wow, one armor-piercing sniper round already killed him through that saferoom door! :o
actually Wade shot the man through that tiny hole on the door at point blank
Oh, whoops, I must forgotten about that hole. That shot is a lot better than my armor-piercing round, which can even kill a Tank

I believe that there was a way, that scout became the damn church guy. The church guy sounds just like him, and whenever we break in. He just kinda changes randomly into a smoker/jockey/hunter. So maybe there is a way.
After finishing this series, its weird seeing all the other characters

Thanks for posting the links to the character models. They look really nice, I just really wish that they did some textures for the zombies that made them look like normal people.

Difference and similarities between the 2 priests who work at churches in 2 different valve games.
Differences
Father grigori (half life 2): he is brave, fights headcrab zombies, and guides Gordon Freeman through ravenholm.
Unnamed Priest (Left 4 Dead): he works at the riverside church and helps his partners hold events and ceremonies. He hides in the safe room until he was bitten by one of the infected and goes crazy saying better safe than sorry.
Similarities
Father grigori (half life 2): he defends himself by using booby traps to kill the headcrabs taking over their hosts which were launched by the combine he managed to survive the infection of ravenholm.
Unnamed priest (left 4 dead): as he was holding events and ceremonies at the riverside church he hides in the saferoom created by the ceda and defends his saferoom from the infected. He was later bitten and goes crazy and makes sure that anyone comes to his safehouse has to make sure they are immune.
What's the same between both father grigori and the unnamed scared priest.
They defend themselves from zombies.
