    Makes me want to start saving for a trip to Bangkok! I can't wait to see what's next. I thought I was the only one who can not tolerate the sound of wind chimes.

    I love mango sticky rice and papaya salad! Everywhere we went in Thailand I ate both to compare them to the last time I had them, so good! We will be in Bangkok on the 13th of Sept. if you two are around, maybe we will run into you!

    What a great video! Food is one of the main reasons I want to visit Thailand, especially the exotic fruit! Markets are amazing but personally I feel intimidated by them . I’m glad you guys braved it out and had an amazing experience. Thanks for taking us along 🥰

    That market is insane, way too many stalls to visit! We have Thai food almost every week and Greg's noodles are in one of my favorite dishes. I'm surprised that the water chestnuts were unfamiliar to you, many Chinese dishes have them (I'm talking take-out here in the states). Looking forward to more videos from Thailand!

    Hello Gregg and Hilary glad you are getting a dose of the highlights in Thailand. Gregg I notice you just got some of the juice and not the peppers for that noodle dish. This is getting me excited for my Thailand visit in November👍

    @FrantasticFood ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I’m sorry to be that person but… I lived in Southeast and South Asia for years as well as Central and South America for 11 years and thought it might be helpful to let you know that tank tops are not appropriate in Thailand unless you are in a beach town or put a pashmina or some kind of covering over your bare arms whether male or female. The same was true when I lived in India and the Philippines. Also, if you didn’t see in your research prior to going to Thailand, patting someone (especially children) on the head is a big no-no. If you do this and quickly apologize all will be well as they are used to us not knowing and appreciate tourists, but an apology will go a little long way. Also a bow with hands clasped together is always appreciated.
    If you’re still there I thought it would be helpful to know these tidbits of cultural info. So many cultures have things that we (people from North America) would not even consider taboo or unwelcome but the internet will let you know how to avoid cultural faux pas for any country you choose to visit whether in the developed or developing world as you’ve come to know from all your years living in Mexico.
    Also, although it may seem extravagant, going to a shop where they make clothing for you is not expensive. You can bring in a picture of something you want made and they will help you choose the fabric (Thai fabrics are beautiful) and measure you and usually have the finished product that night or the next day. It’s such a fun thing to have e something made specifically for you. A 6’7” friend had a tuxedo made for him and it fit perfectly and was so reasonably priced. That’s just to say while you probably don’t need a tux, you can just have a shirt made and it will fit perfectly and not be break the bank and be a useful thing to bring home.
    One last thing, if you get to another market - I can’t recommend the Rice Cakes with Walnut syrup enough. They are NOTHING like the dry, cardboard-like rice cakes we are used to. They are an amazing treat.
    Keep enjoying!

    • @wojapi7538
      @wojapi7538 ปีที่แล้ว
