Leyland freighters and constructors where everywhere in England then bang all gone good to see them still rolling and working hard in the sun
Was a common sight worked on them as school kid learning the trade! Was a dependable work horse they were! They are a scarce sight on roads here now see od one on shows but ERF and Foden seem more popular on preserved scenes!

Leyland trucks have virtually disappeared from British roads now, there are still a couple of Leyland's running local to me here in Eastern England as horse transporters, a Leyland roadrunner (G reg) and a Leyland Freighter (H reg). Same company also owns a Ford Cargo rigid (J reg).

We use to run Leyland bus's back in the 1980's --- 09's and they were king of the roads in those day but we use to have relieble issue with the 401 engine with crack shaft center main cap mounting in the cylinder block cracking and six speed gearbox braking in two. I wish the internet was around in those days. Please do more audible narration and give more technical information as I could hardly hear what the driver was saying.

The Leyland Freighter was built between 1982 and 1991 and between 1992 to 1994 as Leyland Daf 60. This vehicle was probably from the mid to late 1980s so probably about 35 years old when this video was made in 2021.
I am going to save up for a leyland if you see a light red leyland one day that is me driving that leyland

Save on camshafts hate all these super trucks jake brake between every gear change thinking they are super truckers!
what is the pattern of an underdrive 13 speed?
With the regular 9 speed tower it would be: Push the grey button forward in low range n shift 1 to 5 go in high range come back in 1 gear position for 6 n shift up to 10 n then go bk in low range n pull bk the grey button n go in about 3rd or 4th gear then shift until u reach 5 u go in high range n push the grey button forward then go in 2nd gear for 6 n to go in 7 u pull back the grey button n for 8 u push the grey button forward then pull the stick in 3rd gear position then for 9 u pull back the grey button and u continuosly do that until u reach 13
