This was so helpful. I like how you explain the backup of using QuickTime to record. Thank you!!!

This video is SUPER helpful! Thanks! Are you going to do another video where you explain how to use the Windows voice recorder instead of QuickTime? Are there any additional steps or you just manually launch it before every interview and hit record?

I would love to but I don’t have a PC so I’ll have to get my hands on one first!

How do you usually synchronize the two audio files? In order words, how do you combine your personal mic audio from QuickTime with their interviewee's Zoom audio into one track? (Audacity, Ableton, Garage Band, etc). The biggest problem I find is placing the tracks together. Hope this makes sense. Thank you for the help!

If you record yourself on both Zoom AND QuickTime, you can use that zoom file to sync your 2 files up. Once synced, mute the zoom file

What about if im using an xlr mic plugged into a USB interface? Can I feed the audio straight into adobe? Regards

    • @thepodcastmasters
      @thepodcastmasters  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, you’d just use the interface as an audio device instead of the USB mic

@@thepodcastmasters I tried this with an interface and I could hear myself and record my audio but the other person couldn't hear me. What could be going wrong?

I recently recorded an interview following your plan. Once I exported the tracks from the zoom folder to GarageBand, once I uploaded the tracks for editing its sounds fast forwarded and choppy through GB. But if I play it from the folder it sounds normal. Any input on this situation? have you experienced this before and if so how did you handle the problem? Best Regards

Sounds like an import error in GarageBand. Double check your bit rate / sample rate settings before importing anything
Also, make sure to convert the zoom recording first, so that it gives you the individual audio files

@@thepodcastmasters i also have this problem. The sample rate is 33hz for each audio file. when i upload to garage band it is fast forward/choppy. Is there a way to get around this?

I was recently interviewed for a podcast using zoom and it went well. This week i interviews someone for my own podcast and I wasn’t able to get my mic to work. I have the AT 2020 that is connected to my audio interface (Scarlet) and that is connected to my computer through USB. Every time i selected scarlet for speaker zoom told me it didn’t detect a microphone. I also had my earphones connected into my audio interface so that I can hear myself talk and hopefully hear the person I was interviewing and I could hear them but not myself. Do you have any advice? Thanks!

If you’re using an interface you may have to double check that your drivers are up to date. Also, some interfaces require a separate app to be running in order to enable recording

    Hey,
I have Sennheiser ew 100 ENG G4-A and shotgun microphone plugged to Zoom H4N. In Skype I try to get audio data from two audio sources both overlapping each other. However it seems Zoom or Skype priorizes the no 1 XLR portal. Any idea how to fix that?

Just curious: Most people do remote interviews via audio only?

Podcast Masters Thank you for the quick response. Is this to save bandwith or for other reasons?

Having problems with the quality of the internet on both sides. Intermittent quality as well as lots of dropouts and robot voices. What's the best way to avoid this?

Restart your computer, use Ethernet, close all your apps except for Zoom, restart your router...

Podcast Masters. Thanks. Did most of that but I see an Ethernet to USB C adapter in my near future :-)

For the record, I’ve never had issues on Zoom using WiFi. The occasional hiccup maybe, but they are short and barely noticeable. But Ethernet can help solve connectivity issues
