First of all, I want to thank you for the amazing feedback on Part 1 of this video series. It’s incredible to see that it’s now reached over 3,000 views, and I’ve gained over 220 new subscribers-welcome to the channel! In today’s video, we’ll dive deeper into optimizing your connection using the Windows Resource. I’ll also explain what Geofencing is and how you can use it to (hopefully) improve your server connection. As always, feel free to leave your thoughts, questions, or suggestions in the comments below, and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe if you enjoy the content. Your support means everything :)
Loved your first video on this topic. I had watched tacticalbrit as you said and had some sneaking suspicions that I was being connected to random servers all across the US and such despite being based in us east. My dad being a network engineer and teaching me how routers and firewalls and ports and such work, it just took about an hour after watching your first video on the subject to track down the IPs i was being connected to that pertained to packet loss and bad gameplay. Thanks so much for bringing this topic to the public. You're doing a huge service to everyone on COD
That’s such a kind and thoughtful comment-thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience! It’s awesome to hear that my video could help spark some deeper insights, especially with your background knowledge from your dad. The fact that you took the initiative to track down the root of the issues is super impressive! I'm glad this information is making a difference, and comments like yours motivate me to keep digging into these topics. Thank you for your support-it means a lot!

Thanks for the explanation! I know nothing about networking and the two things that will likely prevent me from doing this is the time commitment and potential shadow banning. Your tutorial also makes me wonder if an app can be created to run in the background, analyze network traffic automatically, then after enough data is collected, the app suggests certain IPs to block. Just a thought.

Did it myself, blocked a few ranges and no packet burst. But I didn't play so many matches with this weird firewall geofencing so idk No idea about SBMM cause I'm on HC which is not something you'll find a bunch of noobs on imo
The SBMM is still there, at least for me. But connection can be better and it sometimes could lead to you looking for games way longer than usual, and then you COULD circumvent the SBMM .. in theory. But I did not test that.
Is it plausible that Activision is misleading players with the in-game latency value? I don't think it matters whether it's intentional or not, but it sure would be a convenient bug (or feature) to obfuscate the negative gameplay consequences of match-making based on anything other than connection and to reduce overall complaints about poor connection. Different topic: I think it's best to geofence within your router's settings and not your PC. It's plausible that Ricochet, given its kernel-level access, can detect when Windows Firewall is blocking connection to certain IPs. If you geofence via your router, there's no way for programs running on your PC (or console) to determine you're screwing with your connection to their servers intentionally and possibly maliciously (e.g. to get 'bot lobbies' to beat up on). The interface in your router's settings is probably a lot easier to setup traffic rules on as opposed to clicking through numerous menus and sub-menus in Windows as well. Bonus: Geofencing via your router also makes this method possible to use on consoles as well. Some premium routers like the Netduma even come with geofencing features for connection-focused gamers built-in.
I mean there is a reason why they don’t show ping on the leaderboard anymore. From how the game plays, even with me having 12ms and 1000Mbps and no other device connected to my network, it is for sure the servers. And I cannot agree or disagree on the kernel level access and the firewall, but the game never closed itself when I made changes in the firewall. The only time I got kicked multiple times, over and over again was when I changed my up- and download speed, as well as having mentioned programs running in the background. I know my way around certain stuff, but not everything. And by tempering with the speeds, I did end up in such „bot lobbies“ - because, I assume, my matchmaking took way longer (because of poor connection), so it won’t favor SBMM and will look for a lobby to put me in, without my connection getting too bad. And once I joined these lobbies, I got kicked instantly or after couple minutes. But these lobbies were really casual, total opposite of what was going on in normal lobbies. After that I went to see how other countries servers perform and what infos I could get there. And shortly after that, the lobbies I got here in Europe, were a complete disaster. Which again is probably due to the enforcement on my activision account that I saw after doing some research. And if you tamper with certain stuff, you get on the naughty list. hey bro really good viedo, do you have a list for the frankfurt servers? we have so many problemens when we are on other server then frankfurt. maybe do you have the list with the blocked server? vielen dank falls du deutsch sprechen solltest 😉
Hey, is there any way you could share the list of ip's you have personally blocked? Could also be through discord or some other channel if you don't want to publicly post them. I think I read somewhere in the comments that you were located in Germany. I live in a neighbour country so that list would make a good baseline for blocking the servers that are veryy high ping.
My new video is out here: th-cam.com/video/VJJ6yPpFosI/w-d-xo.html Here’s what’s worked (and hasn’t) for me so far, based in Germany: IP ranges that have worked the best for me: 13.107.3.0/24 20.44.86.0/24 13.86.37.0/24 20.242.71.0/24 52.96.52.0/24 52.13.58.0/24 Not sure about these ones-they seem to break things (test them for yourself): 52.137.108.0/24 23.50.131.0/24 This one blocks levels, calling cards, and emblems for me: 20.96.52.198 (Everyone appears as level 1 with the same calling cards and emblems.) This one seems to be essential for booting the game (likely Demonware’s server in Ireland): 185.34.106.90 (I blocked it during testing and couldn’t log in afterward.)
I also reinstalled BO6 again to see if I am really shadow banned, but I am not. Had 4x games on Nuketown, and it felt so smooth. Geofencing can be a game changer. Of course there will be instances where it’s still a server issue, but you can minimize it on your end as well.
Nice video i find it very informing. I am going to try this today i am hoping it helps tbh. I get major packet burst with a open NAT type and a GB fiber connection anything at this point would help.
Oh that is what you mean, my bad. It means the first segment only should have two. As you said will work! xx.xx or xx.xxx does not matter, only the first segment.
@@xreve_ is there a reason we dont add the triple segment ones to the block list? i notice i have a triple segment address that is usually the one with the highest latency
Besides high ping game servers what could be the cause/fix for the packet loss/packet bursting? I normally get put on sub 50ms servers and I am happy with that, but the constant packet bursting and packet loss is so annoying!
When I had many of these IPs blocked, I had really good games without packet bursts. And I get ONLY at the beginning of the round. Maybe once appeared while playing a match. People suggested that it has to do with graphic settings. So I might have to look into that and why that is. Already read about it weeks ago. Arguing that the content that is streamed while playing, causes these issues and you have to temper with VRAM size etc. Totally don’t know at the moment. I will look into that.
It's the mandatory texture streaming and the fact a lot of the maps take place on a low poly future warzone map. Just playing this game or sitting in menus hogs so much bandwidth. It's basically like trying to play COD while someone in your house is streaming Netflix in 4K. The only way around it is QoS (Quality of Service) on your router. I use cake which is a packet queue management system. If you have a lot of varied network traffic this might not be the best solution as it's primarily about bandwidth fairness, so your gaming won't be prioritised but it's the only way I've managed to stop the packet bursting and receive them properly.
@@AdamH7 Would enabling QoS on my router cause other MP games to be slow? I def am interested if it lessens packet bursts in CoD. I'm pretty sure my router supports that feature too.
Hey, danke fürs Video, wirklich interessant! Ich wohne auch in der Nähe von Frankfurt - könntest du vielleicht die Liste an geblockten IPs teilen? Ich denke damit würdest du vielen Spielern aus Deutschland helfen.
Bro people kept telling me that. But I have a 4070ti and run this game on minimum graphic settings and still get massive packet bursts. And I’m connected by Ethernet. This shit sucks
I will have to look into that. I might release a new video today talking about the settings I have on PC. But to be fair, it all comes down to their servers.
That’s based on the stuff I have read. In theory, IPs with 2 digits in front, have a bigger range of servers. Which means it’s better to block the range of 2 digit IPs. While 3 digit IPs are specific and probably not worth blocking. And you can try this yourself, trial and error. But I have a 3 digit IP adress, that is connected to Ireland. And without this IP, my game won’t launch. Sometimes it looses connection when blocking 3 digit IPs. So they are essential for the game.
@@illumidaddy7724 My hit registration feels better and it's as if the game is faster, my shots hit harder, and I can play more aggressively. It definitely feels better to play.
you got shadow banned for doing this? I was waiting for this tutorial and now I dont want to try it, cause i dont want to get shadow banned. i experience packet burst in every single black ops 6 match i play no matter what ping i have. it unfortunate because i really enjoy the gameplay in bo6.
I would say I am not sure if I got shadow banned. But the game closed after I used certain tools mentioned in the video. They kicked me everytime when connecting servers around the world. Geofencing won’t get you banned. You adjust things in the firewall or your router without any issues. There are specific gaming routers that can do this out of the box.
@@xreve_ I'm also on the east coast and a lot of my friends i play with are west coast if i do the geofencing mentioned in the video will i still be able to play with them?
@@HIdden.Sound.Village yeah but i recommend trying blocking all ip addresses through your router firewall rather than your pc……also try caping your download and upload bandwidth (both) to 1-2 Mbps. This improves connection sync
Hahaha, I don’t have to do this. But I do whatever I can to improve my gaming experience. Even if I got to admit that the game is just really bad. But the core of it has so much potential. I wish, but I know it won’t happen, they would upgrade their servers.
Warzone, black ops 6 and call of duty in general SUCKS because they obviously have no clue what they are doing!! They release broken games and then take weeks or months to get it fixed! Multi billion dollar company and they don’t have to ability to broadly test, test and test some more before releasing a dog shit broken game with perks that don’t work guns that don’t register correctly and the most HORRENDOUS audio I’ve ever heard in my life before releasing it to the public and giving the players the worst experience in COD history?! The only thing they care about is making money! They release broken games, broken updates, dog shit audio and everything else because they know people will play it anyway for whatever reason. Maybe one day someone will make a BR game that actually works the way it’s suppose to and bankrupt call of duty!!
I feel you 100%! I grew up with COD4, and MW2 especially shaped my childhood. They know they’ve got a cash cow with the franchise, especially after the success of Warzone during Covid. The microtransactions made them an insane amount of money, and I think that’s when they realized they can just serve us unfinished games-because people will buy them anyway for BR or Zombies. Like why does MWIII have Zombies? It’s a modern warfare. They just mix so much stuff together to cater to the majority. Personally, I play COD for MP and Zombies, and I can’t stand Warzone (not BR itself, just how they handle it). What they’re doing now is a total scam. Their priorities are crystal clear: greed over community respect.
@ couldn’t agree more!! I’ve never been a fan of zombies nor have I ever even considered grinding camos but with bo6 I grinded every day the nebula camo and I got it in like 4-5 days! And I LOVE warzone but I have yet to play bo6 warzone because I feel a BR is all about the audio, gun functionality and variety. Yes it seems like we have a good variety FOR NOW! But the bo6 weapons (in my opinion) just have way to much horizontal recoil and those mid to long range shots are hard to stay on target. It shouldn’t be that difficult to control any weapon! All I’ve played so far is zombies and plunder just waiting for the audio to get fixed. Maybe after the 20th time the drop and take out rebirth island cause it’s shit to and add a few more AR’s to the store that shoot gumballs then MAYBE they’ll give some attention to the most played version of the game and give big map BR some bug fixes. But there’s no reason there should be this many problems with a video game!! And as far as this “hit list” even. It took 8 BILLION points to unlock the buffer stock and you can ONLY put it on the M4!! Now watch they’ll nerf it into the ground next week and make the M4 completely unusable like the did the Ram 7 in season 3 of MW3!!
Yes it can. Usually I find game with 24ms, but after doing that it sometimes goes up to 50ms. But it’s totally fine. Finding games within 15-20 seconds.
@@xreve_ tons of people shitting on the performance and they all have in common that they play the game on steam or gamepass..theres even pay2win launchers these days xd
Even on Ps5 its Like this Omnilags and Packet Squirts all over the place. I am playing on Gamepass but my Friends on console have the Same experience, especially in high Skill lobbies. We are Just getting rekt every year over and over again thats why i stopped buying the Games
No no, not by Geofencing. But by connecting to servers around the world with certain tools. But doing stuff with the resource monitor and the firewall, no. You can make adjustments in the firewall while in game, if you lose connection, you blocked a wrong IP maybe. You know that the AntiCheat closes the game when you do other stuff … then the game closes on you almost every single time. Repeatedly doing so will eventually put you on the naughty list.
You cannot fix their servers thats true, but you can make sure you get connected to the best latency servers, to ensure better gameplay. And people already commented and says it works very well.

You have a nice voice, very calming
Thank you so much!
@@xreve_ where are you from? you sound like youre from europe
Great work! Are we only blocking ips with latency over 100?
Yes, above 50 actually. Gotta test what works for you!
Yes, I will share them with my next video!
@@xreve_ Thx for all the effort :)
My new video is out here: th-cam.com/video/VJJ6yPpFosI/w-d-xo.html
Here’s what’s worked (and hasn’t) for me so far, based in Germany:
IP ranges that have worked the best for me:
13.107.3.0/24
20.44.86.0/24
13.86.37.0/24
20.242.71.0/24
52.96.52.0/24
52.13.58.0/24
Not sure about these ones-they seem to break things (test them for yourself):
52.137.108.0/24
23.50.131.0/24
This one blocks levels, calling cards, and emblems for me:
20.96.52.198 (Everyone appears as level 1 with the same calling cards and emblems.)
This one seems to be essential for booting the game (likely Demonware’s server in Ireland):
185.34.106.90 (I blocked it during testing and couldn’t log in afterward.)
I did this and my hit reg is better, I'm killing with 3 bullets. My gaming play it's a lot better
I also reinstalled BO6 again to see if I am really shadow banned, but I am not. Had 4x games on Nuketown, and it felt so smooth. Geofencing can be a game changer. Of course there will be instances where it’s still a server issue, but you can minimize it on your end as well.
Same, I also felt ttk was lower and I could play a lot more aggressively.
And microsoft owns Activision now, they dont have an excuse for sh!tty server's.
Nice video i find it very informing. I am going to try this today i am hoping it helps tbh. I get major packet burst with a open NAT type and a GB fiber connection anything at this point would help.
Thank you very much!
And please share your experience once you have the chance!
@@xreve_ 100% will do
"Remote addresses with 2 numerical segments" what does this mean exactly?
For example 12.34.567.89 has 2 numbers in front. You will look for these.
Not the ones that start with 3 like 192.815.469.
Like the example shows.
@@xreve_So something in the form xx.xx only, or could something like xx.xxx work as well?
Oh that is what you mean, my bad. It means the first segment only should have two. As you said will work!
xx.xx or xx.xxx does not matter, only the first segment.
@@xreve_ Got it. The reason I ask is because I keep connecting to a xxx ip everytime.
@@xreve_ Would definitely appreciate a video on the packet burst issue, and if there is any graphic settings that can be adjusted to alleviate them!
@ already working on it.
But I will go to sleep now. Maybe tomorrow I will upload already, I don’t know yet.
@@AdamH7 Would enabling QoS on my router cause other MP games to be slow? I def am interested if it lessens packet bursts in CoD. I'm pretty sure my router supports that feature too.
We're you shawdow banned from the correct implementation? Or was it from trial and error testing?
I was banned for using the other mentioned tools in the video. Geonfencing and blocking IPs won’t result in a ban.
@@xreve_ Super, danke dir!
I’m one of the new guys. Good stuff keep it up
Thank you so much! ♥
I am kinda overwhelmed to be honest ..
Should wwe turn of texture streaming?
Great video! Maybe you could leak your list of banned IPs 👀 would save us europeans a lot of time 😬
I will in the upcoming video!
th-cam.com/video/VJJ6yPpFosI/w-d-xo.html
if you get a lot of packet bursts then it might be because your vram usage is too high
I only have a 4070 and a 7800X3D and I get packet bursts rarely. Usually when we spawned on the map. And that’s it, but I will look into it!
In warzone if my ping is above 17ms I just back out.
Why focus on the IPs with 2 digits out front ?
Curious about this too. My guess it the 2 digit ones with high latency are the unnecessary ones. I opted to not block the 3 digit ones just in case.
@@MasterRyan97did you notice a difference?
@@MasterRyan97multi or warzone? I’ve only had a couple ips that were 2 digits 100ms+
you got shadow banned for doing this?
This improves connection sync
it is crazy u have to do this shit my german friend
Hahaha, I don’t have to do this. But I do whatever I can to improve my gaming experience. Even if I got to admit that the game is just really bad. But the core of it has so much potential. I wish, but I know it won’t happen, they would upgrade their servers.

Im not coming accross network adresses that begin with 2 2digit numbers at all
That is weird, usually there should be some in there.

Does think not impact the match search time?
Yes it can. Usually I find game with 24ms, but after doing that it sometimes goes up to 50ms. But it’s totally fine. Finding games within 15-20 seconds.
Amazing video thank u
Youre welcome!
Let me know your results!
How many IP addresses have you block? I’m gonna feel dumb doing this because Activision can fix their servers.
I had 9 so guess. Also people asked for a list, I could see if Europeans can use the same IPs regardless.
@@xreve_ The list's gonna be helpful. I play in NA despite of being from Colombia...
there's 10year old mobile games running higher server ticks 😅

I am not, having the Game Pass. Would never buy this game ..
So basically u can get banned for that? 😅
@@xreve_ naughty naughty boy

You cannot fix their servers thats true, but you can make sure you get connected to the best latency servers, to ensure better gameplay.
And people already commented and says it works very well.
Trash game get big big big dislike
First.
Whats the reason you say you are shadow banned?
Probably because I used stuff that is not allowed. Not for geofencing.
