I love your videos! Just skimming channels and found you. Just ran across this one too and subscribed. I'd get this brand of gear if I hadn't already filled my emergency kit to the brim...lol. 75 is hard on us ladies and it's not like some 40 yo guy packing a bug out bag for the truck. We need a different carrier, extra supplies, and a mule to carry it. The guys I know these days wouldn't know didly how to use an axe or carry anything over 5 pounds. I was raised on a farm slinging 50 pound bales of hay all summer in the heat! Today they all want to live in the "city" so things are handy to them. If there ever is a real disaster kind of emergency, us old folks will be up a creek with only people like you to help us survive. So thanks for your common sense and willingness to teach us beneficial stuff.. And I have several ways to get a fire going even getting fatwood and dry twigs. And yes, I have Bic lighters for backup!!😮
Looks like the woods behind my Dad's house in upstate NY.Like you, I find I can pack more in a pack without all the pockets etc. Have to unload everything, but, for me if it's not raining, that reminds me what to do next, what I have, and where things are in my bag...lol. 75 remember!!!

Hello mate, one would think so right??? Anyway, TH-cam is a business like any other, so in order to get noticed one would need to advertise and it cost a great deal to do so on TH-cam. Regardless of content, one must invest. It’s the hidden secret. Most TH-cam channels do it when they start off and also to pump up the viewership on a video they put out weekly (the more views people see the more prestige in their minds, so the more they are willing to watch it). There are videos out there a only couple days old with a million views, they didn’t go viral, they were promoted through TH-cam. It’s around $15000 thousand dollars to get 1 million views. Even if you have 100,000 subscribers, only about 35-40% of them, are gonna watch a new video so you need to promote it to get more viewership, which in turn you also get new subscribers. It would be nice if content alone determines the success of one’s channel, but as they say, “if it were easy, everyone would do it.” A lot of channels survive through the support from Patreon because TH-cam is minimal income, however, the more you put into TH-cam, the more you get out of it. Thanks for letting me know you appreciate the adventures. My channel is just the love of the outdoors,a thriving in such, and a shared mutual interest in Bushcraft. It has also been a way to document these cherished Adventures for life, and if I can bring all along for the ride and that’s all I get out of it, then it’s worth it. Glad to have you along.
*Scandi Grind Knives are Ok as far as wood work goes…However, for food prep; nothing comes close to a folding ‘Opinel # 9’… phenomenal slicing action and great all rounder..!*
Hello, yes indeed, I have 5 different varieties of Opinel knives including the Opinel Slim which is razor sharp and thin. I have used them in my previous videos. I planned to do some carving with my new Skog knife from Helle but I ran out of time, however, many have said that it’s great for cooking as well since it’s super sharp, and I agree. The blade is also triple laminated stainless steel which holds up incredibly well to moisture whilst cooking. Also the Mora #2 around my neck is great for food prep. Those are my reasonings.
Hello, yes it can be a challenge but one gets used to it. And the closer you get to nature, the less you will need to bring. I simply enjoy certain things. Thanks for coming along!
Wow! Awesome adventure. Like you, the plow point is my favorite set up for overnighters. I also will say that I enjoyed your commentary of your adventures just as much as the video footage. Also, the quotes that you add to the footage is just as inspiring as the footage itself. Thank you so much!
Yeah, the plough point is nice and easy. Well, I really wish I can inspire others as well as just share my adventures as I’m sure you do the same Andrew. People that don’t go out into nature do not realise that they neglecting themselves from what comes natural. These places are where we belong and they are like coming home. Thank you for your encouragement mate. Cheers
@@TheLoreofBushcraft of course! And dang it they look great also look like they fit perfect. I was editing a video for Roku when yours dropped yesterday, just got sometime to sit down and watch it. I can see why that place is your favorite!
Yes indeed I love it. Also, I've gotten multiple inquiries regarding your gloves, so you should be getting some orders in. They are a great fit and just what I was looking for as I stated before.
Dude is prepared in a way that defies description- great videos - never seen so many different bags of things, there is no way I’d come back with them all, i would lose half of them 😬
I just stumbled on this by accident. I have to say it's refreshing to finally see someone who knows how to be comfortable in the outdoors along with eating well. Most folks i've seen chatter all throughout the vid, telling you how tough it is, you have to do it this way to survive, yada yada yada. Your vid was excellent. No talking, just a comfortable camp setup, good food, and did I mention silence?
It is refreshing to hear that. I’m not hosting a television show. I’m simply enjoying myself in nature whilst filming my experience and simply sharing it. There’s no acting no script, for it is truly authentic and therefore one gets an authentic experience. Thank you for appreciating my format!
Love your use of the toggles on the ridge line of that tarp - very creative and functional. New sub here - I just love the "old school" stuff so much and it looks as if you do as well.
Hello Steve, for years I use to just lay the trap on the ridgeline but that can cause damage, although the tarps I used were Bombproof. With this new tarp of thinner material, I don’t want to take a chance. Old School is the way to go, quality equipment that will not only last but take on the rigours and punishment I deal out. Thanks for the acknowledgement, Welcome to my adventures Steve! 💪🌱🗻🌲🌿⛰️🏕️
Hello mate, yeah, it truly was an epic adventure. I was at that spot last year I couldn't wait to return. The setup was Johnny on the spot, however, I'm sure others have put it together before. I prefer tarps with structures. This is now my official favourite setup. Thanks for joining me on this outing! See you on the next one. -Càrn 💪🏕️
Hi there Tim, I would consider that however, I often use that set up more in the summer since it’s so airy. I’ve got a different set up coming up in the next few weeks I’m sure you’ll enjoy.
Hi Daniel, it was simply perfect, I provided the kit and nature provided the backdrop for a great adventure. I much appreciate your support greatly! 💪🏕️
Thanks Mark, I had great fun, as well as relaxing and taking it all in, I couldn't have been more content. I'm glad you got to be a part of it. Cheers!
You really go Nessmuk all the way. Great video! I could not handle all that stuff hanging off my pack. You used every bit of it in the video though. Very nice spot to camp. It is like a little oasis.
Hello mate, I believe we chatted before when I first launched my channel. Thanks for coming back. I've been over to your channel quite a few times. Nice to hear from you again! Cheers
Wow. Just wow. Your woods is similar to my upstate NY. Your filming is scary amazing! Would love to see a behind the scenes on your filming gear/bag. It has to be epic gear based on bushcraft/camp gear I’ve seen. Going back and watching all of ya videos now. Bravo
Hi Joe, right you are, that's where I am. The backdrop was provided by nature so I won't take any credit for that. Thank you for coming along. Below is a loadout but I took extra stuff along so people didn't see you variety of what I might carry. See you there! 💪🌱⛰️🏕️ th-cam.com/video/iMgP9cdSq7M/w-d-xo.html
Hi Robert, Their tarps are perfect for what I need because they are so lightweight yet durable. I would certainly recommend them. Thanks for coming along.
Put a leaf litter browse bed in there and that would be the most cosy set up ever! Usually I use the adirondak set up with a ridgeline.. but I agree, i think the freestanding plow point is my new favourite set up now. (No ridgeline or guylines!)
Hello Hunter, I'm glad to hear to are enjoying the adventures. as you can see, I go out in some truly rugged environments so only the best kit will do. Nice to have you along. Welcome to the adventure!
@@TheLoreofBushcraft Thank you for the reply! I have got a few of the pieces of gear you have and I will be adding to them! You should make a full gear video just going through all the gear you use with affiliate links, it would surely support your links. Have an awesome day, see you on the next adventure!
@hunter_1776 Thanks mate, I’m not affiliated. I purchased nearly all my gear myself with passive income. I’m simply listing the gear I use per adventure for the benefit of my viewers and amplifying top gear from great producers so that they may benefit as well. I list it so viewers can make informed decisions on kit that might be useful on their adventure. Happy New Year to you!
@@TheLoreofBushcraft I tend to do most my camping alone as well which is what has drawn me to your channel its exactly how I practice bushcraft and camp only exception is your skills are far above mine lol
Oi mate, leaves are too much work and and carry a lot of Ticks (although I do use them often). The Moss was just so readily available that I even used it underneath my ground cloth for a sleeping mat. I don't think I ever use paracord, but I do use Bankline often. I used it on the spine of the Tarp. I do prefer traditional line and traditional kit, but as you can see I do mix it up. The rope in the video comes from Bushcraft Spain and is waxed, oiled and treated, it makes for excellent rope, however, you're not going to want to cut it, so I use thick twine instead.
outstanding sir! I absolutely love and adore your content, what an amazing 3 day you had the food looked on point. Those gloves are also my favorites i hope you enjoy them as much as me. Till next time my friend best regards Dutch
Wow, thank you Dutch! Nature is a perfect canvas. I truly enjoyed that adventure and needed it. And, the gloves are perfect, thank you so much for recommending them! 💪
Hello, I actually sleep the best when I'm out there. All the cares in the world melt away when I'm out there. I'm glad that you appreciate my outdoor adventures. Thanks for coming along!
Hello, I usually just make sure it’s dry and if it’s not I’ll lay it out when I get home. The Sun can dry it out, but I haven’t needed to retreat any of my traps,so for. Let me know if you need anything else. Cheers
Have you tried the BC Spain Nessmuk tarp? I'm thinking of getting it but not sure if it will be large enough. I prefer a plowpoint shelter or my onetigris tentsformer.
Hello, I haven't, the 2.5 X 2.5 is just a little heavier, so I would rather more function and just a little more weight. Let me know if you need more info. Happy New Year!
@@TheLoreofBushcraft Makes sense. my 12x12 is so heavy and bulky that I never carry it, which is shameful. Thinking a small oilskin is in my future. Thanks as always. Happy New Year.
Just came across your channel because I searched for traditional camping gear and your equipment and your way of bushcrafting has exactly the vibe I was looking for. I appreciate the detailed video description, the text inserts, and the fact that you put the moss back in its place. Very much respected. I wonder how much your pack weighs. Do you have a lighterpack link? Might be a cool addition for your video description. Anyways, you got a new sub!
Hello Lynus, happy to hear that, traditional is the way to go. My ruck weighs 2.5 kg and 15 to 20 kg when full. The thing is that it's not the weight of the pack but the equipment one brings along. And the less equipment you bring with you the more work you will do out in the field. Also, the more skill the less you carry. The Matilda from Helikon-Tex is a great light weight easy all-round carry pack. Here's the link below, is part of their bushcraft line. Helikon-Tex Bushcraft Line, Matilda Backpack a.co/d/fR9UPHc
I felt the tranquility! Reminded me of Doc Savage in his "Fortress of Solitude". Hope you got the recharge you needed. Did you find a pocket full of mushrooms when you got home? Love from NZ
Hello John, yes, it's always like pressing the reset button. The cares of the world just melt away. I didn't know who Doc savage was, so I looked him up. They seem like great adventures for lads. Well, I never bring foraged food back to the fabricated world, because I wish to have more when I return :) I'm sure I could dry some mushrooms and have them for an extended period of time. Nice to hear from you mate!
I’ve just seen a couple of your videos and I subscribed. I’ll go hiking and camping with you anytime. Your very good my friend. I also like that little iron, swing arm grill setup that you have over the fire pit. Did you make it or where may I possibly get one. I’m interested in to seeing you in the cold weather. Keep enjoying this great life that you are having, and keep these great videos coming. Peace be with you my friend.

Very much enjoyed your video. Very beautiful location, would you care to provide a general location? Impressive you returned the moss. Question, it did not appear you filtered your water, to me a bit scary.
Hello Ric, thank you, nature provided a beautiful spot for me indeed. It’s in the northeast states. Yes, I returned the Moss because I believe in leave -no-trace principles as much as I can apply them. Right, I don’t normally filter my water if it comes from a flowing mountain source (nature’s tap). I do filter or boil my water if it comes from a lake or a standing pool. I am 50 years old and have been nourishing myself from the outdoors nearly, all my life and I’ve never had an issue. However, I do encourage anyone I train or who asked for advice to filter or boil their water from the outdoors to be safe rather than sorry. Great input thank you!
@@TheLoreofBushcraft Thank you for your reply. This year I will be 80, and still have the desire to camp. Maybe it is the ex-Army Ranger in me and thinking I am in my 20s-ish. We are located in the South East states. Regarding water, I have seen many folks get Giardia or the like; not pretty. Again, thank you.
A bushcraft knife that will slice bread that easily is a beautiful thing! Great video again sir. Do you mind if I ask...what is it that you shave into your coffee cup?
Hello mate, I got it from SRO but that one was too short for me so I got this one below that suited my needs better, it’s in my latest video. Cheers www.etsy.com/uk/listing/658613152/

Hi there, another great video and enjoyed very much as always. I have a question and hope yoh could point me in the right direction. Could you tell me about the shirt you are wearing in video? TIA 👍
Hello, yeah I think It’s obvious that I take my adventures seriously. I really appreciate good quality items. The hat is Tom Backbe, although I wouldn't recommend it, the leather band came loose on the first day. I would recommend the Flison Tin hat and the Outback brand hats. Hop this helps. You really go Nessmuk all the way. Great video! I could not handle all that stuff hanging off my pack. You used every bit of it in the video though. Very nice spot to camp. It is like a little oasis.
Yeah, it truly is a place of peace
Great adventure as always sir!! 👍🏼🙏🏼
Yeah, I truly enjoyed it!
Thanks for joining me!
Very nice footage and editing! Big Like from me! I also love camping and upload some videos. Keep on !!!
Hello mate, I believe we chatted before when I first launched my channel. Thanks for coming back. I've been over to your channel quite a few times. Nice to hear from you again! Cheers
I like you and what you do , I just subscribed .
Awesome, welcome to the adventures! 💪🏕️🌲🔥
Wow.

Really nice kit! Lots of cool bags and pouches. What did you think of the Bushcraft Spain tarp?
Hi Robert, Their tarps are perfect for what I need because they are so lightweight yet durable. I would certainly recommend them. Thanks for coming along.
Great video!!! More kilted vids in the near future??
Hello mate, indeed there will be. I'm looking forward to being free. Thanks for coming along! 💪
Love the channel and content. Beautiful spot of camp and do bushcraft style setups. Subbed!
Thanks for the sub! I am glad you are enjoying the adventures. The great outdoors should be appreciated and shared. Welcome aboard!
Put a leaf litter browse bed in there and that would be the most cosy set up ever!
Usually I use the adirondak set up with a ridgeline.. but I agree, i think the freestanding plow point is my new favourite set up now.
(No ridgeline or guylines!)
Awesome! 👍
I do have a Browse Bed, but the set up I made was very comfortable soft ground, a moss bed, and the form padding that came with the ruck.
Just found your channel, you have amazing vids! You probably have the best gear in one place that i have ever seen!
@@TheLoreofBushcraft You are a class act, Sir! Thank you!
thanks for the adventure man! really enjoyed this food and camp looked perfect. I wasn't able to get out this weekend this video saved me cheers.
Well I'm glad I could bring the essence of the wood to you mate.
Cheers JTD!
@@TheLoreofBushcraft your channel is a gem I've watched hours of your content this weekend 👍
I’m completely honoured! I love the outdoors but I mostly go alone, I’m glad I can share my experiences.
@@TheLoreofBushcraft I tend to do most my camping alone as well which is what has drawn me to your channel its exactly how I practice bushcraft and camp only exception is your skills are far above mine lol
The moss pillow! Wow 👏 😮
I notice you tend to not use paracord or bank line but some sort of traditional twine?
Love the trad feel to your style!
@@TheLoreofBushcraft awesome! Thanks for the reply. Great work 👏
As usual a cut above the rest!👍🏼
Ty, My love for the outdoors is the love I share with you all.
Thanks brother! 💪🏕️🔥
Sport amazing... Salam Indonesia...
outstanding sir!
What leather gloves are those??
Adirondack American
@@TheLoreofBushcraft awesome BIG THANKS for the response 👍
Where is the standing grill from? love it!
Great!
Another great video! What is the size of the Bushcraft Spain Tarp? Thanks
Thank you, much appreciated!
The Tarp is a 2.5 x 2.5
I love your videos a lot! Do you ever have trouble sleeping out there?
Hello, I actually sleep the best when I'm out there. All the cares in the world melt away when I'm out there. I'm glad that you appreciate my outdoor adventures. Thanks for coming along!
Thank you for allowing me to live vicariously through you and your adventures. Stay safe and God bless, brother.
Absolutely, I’m so glad I can bring my world to yours!
Fantastic 🙌🏾 Any chance you're going to do a review of your Vidda Pro's?
Well, I don’t really do reviews, I simply “feature”. If you’re wondering, the other best outdoor trouser you can get, and their versatile year round.
👍🏻👏🏻
Do you leave your tarp folded or spread out when not in use? Should it ever need to be retreated?
Thank you!
Here's the link below, is part of their bushcraft line.

nice !
Thanks mate!
Hello Randy, I'm honoured that you enjoy my adventures. You are definitely welcomed anytime. The Iron is the SRO Bedrell Cooker. Below is a link to one of my winter adventures. There are many more on my page as wel. Enjoy mate!

Great skills! With all that chow though, I would have to take a massive 💩. Lol!!!
That’s funny mate!
A bushcraft knife that will slice bread that easily is a beautiful thing! Great video again sir. Do you mind if I ask...what is it that you shave into your coffee cup?
Hi Tim, that’s in the style of an 18th century Sugarcane cone. It’s still used in many x British colonial countries to this day.
@@TheLoreofBushcraft That's very cool. Thanks for letting me know. Traditional bushcraft is my biggest interest, that's what drew me to your channel.
What is the shirt your wearing I like all the pockets and the natural look
By natural look I mean the color
Where did you get that swing arm cook kit? Or did you make it? Looks awesome!
Hello mate, I got it from SRO but that one was too short for me so I got this one below that suited my needs better, it’s in my latest video. Cheers

You could try tjm metalworks in the uk,there gear is on another level, also try netherton foundry, they do spun iron cookware, its not caught on in the US👍🇬🇧
Great..
Hi there, another great video and enjoyed very much as always. I have a question and hope yoh could point me in the right direction. Could you tell me about the shirt you are wearing in video? TIA 👍
Hello, thank you very much! It's the Craghopper Adventure 2
Did you make our buy those moccasins? I'm in the market for some and would love to know where to get them or have a video on how to make them.
Hello, are you referring to my boots mate?
Love the location and primitive set up. You know how to do it in style. What is the brand and model of your hat? I dig it!
Thanks for the compliments. Cheers
👍
Thank you!
Used to be able to drink from a running stream...not any more...🤨
Love your contet ( is that how it is spelled?). Best wishes from Norway.
I'm glad you enjoy my content mate from Norway
hey
do you clean your glove somehow? or keep them smell like fire? idk what to do with mine they smell like a campfire haha
Hello Rez, I don't clean my gloves nor most of my kit. These ideas are make for the woods, made for Bushcraft. There is no Bushcraft without fire and dirt.
@@TheLoreofBushcraft so how you store them while not in use?
They are always attached the my pack. I live in a Studio Flat and I never smell them. Perhaps is the leather of your gloves that's the issue.
Love your videos you surely inspire me to get out. May I ask what country your located in? It looks like the Northwestern United states.
Thank you Johnny! I do hope that these filmed adventures will continue to inspire others to discover how much peace the Wilderness can bring to us.
I'm presently in the Northeast states. Not as vast as the Northwest, but plenty of space to roam.
Great video! what did you carve into your coffe?
Hello, that is an 18th century style Sugar cane cone. They since produce sugar like this still in many British colonies. glad that you are enjoying the adventures. Cheers
@@TheLoreofBushcraft neat! Thanks!
