    Another insightful and intelligent review of A Maneskin song. You correctly stated that we all have our own reaction to art based on the art interacting with our experiences and viewpoints.
    I’m one of those that agreed that “The Loneliest” was a little more pop, and yet found the song quite emotional and impactful. Part of Art is emotion. So when an artist can make me relate and cry, I consider that a successful piece of art.
    Vent ‘Anni is a little different. I love the song, it is beautiful sound and cadence, highlighting Damiano’s voice. That is my feeling before understanding any of the words. When I translate the words it adds meaning and depth and a bit of poetry, which just makes it even better. But, I don’t have a deep emotional reaction, likely because I’m much older.
    Clearly our life experiences, and individual emotional, and intellectual differences will strongly impact our reaction to art and music.
    Damiano who writes most all the lyrics for their songs, has the ability to be deep and poetic(Coraline) and superficial and fun (For Your Love) in his lyrics, with success in both. That is a bit rare. I think the majority of the cords and riffs, and beats come from the other three, so it is a successful symbiotic relationship. Elton John had something similar, but reversed with Bernie Taupin.
    Going forward they have pretty much said they will keep exploring different ways of creating, as well as different genres. So I suspect a variety of stuff. So far they have been able to keep it all good if not always amazing. But, taken all together, there is a lot of talent, and I don’t foresee a lot of crap coming our way, even if some may not warrant a deep analysis.
    Thanks again for the excellent analysis and the excellent English, I’m bilingual, but always had to work really hard at other languages, and it’s not easy for me.
    By the way, I saw them live in Florida last month and they were excellent with amazing energy, musicianship, and stage presence. Very much a Rock performance with only Coraline and The Loneliest to slow things down. The sold out crowd was way more diverse than I would have imagined, with some children and a lot of middle age and even older people in addition to the younger crowd. One of the best concerts I have ever been to, and I have seen a lot of famous artists over the years.

      Thank you for kind words and the elaborate comment! It's awesome that you manage to see them in concert, it must've been awesome! From what I saw, their live performances never disappoint and even their more pop songs pack more a punch when played live (which, to me, confirms the idea that they decided to "tone down" their studio version in order to appeal to larger audiences and attract new fans) because Damiano puts so much soul in his singing and Thomas is a really a great guitarist. I always cry with Coraline, Torna a casa and Amandoti, so I imagine it would be even more impressive live. They haven't announced any concert in my country yet, but I really hope to see them one day!

    Thank you for this great analysis this is one of my fav songs by Maneskin and I love the video too showing them so beautiful not particularly because of "simmetry" but more because of their youth and still intact vulnerability: when I look them in the eyes me, a much older one, I still see their unguarded souls and that for me is the representation of youth and real beauty.

    So not only do they choose their substantial independent long sought and fight ways to success, they are credible in more domains. Many are envious, especially in Italy, but not only, and we'll see more of that, but that is Good in the realms of reality.

    What I like about this song is the opposite mindset to Pink Floyd's (for example). I was a big fan of Pink Floyd, but I prefer the mindset in Vent'anni. There's an added responsibility intertwined with searching different perspectives that CAN be activated beginning from adolescence.

    I'd like to add a note about how older people can enjoy (even more ?) this song, i'm 20 years old in italian is, literally "i have 20 years" and even if its' first meaning surely is i'm 20 years old it can also be read (like in english) "i have 20 years [of time to do something]" (like to live as i'm a little over 50 ?). Yes, it doesn't work on every line pf the song, but i (as an older italian) think it still works very well.

    Thank you. 🙏. It is one of their best! It says it all. I gave this song to my daugter at her 20th Birthday by taking her to Rome to the Circo Massimo-concert last summer. The line "sarai qualcuno se resterai diverso dagli altri" has become my life-motto. I am not a tattoo- person (yet).. but I wrote it in silver as a necless.. and I had it sewed on my jacket.

    What a class! I always wondering why you have very few subscribers. Before this video I listened to the new album Rush. I have to listen again but thinking of they “ old” songs, I’m afraid that the original and genuine Italian style is compromised. That’s how it goes in every form of art. It develops and change with age and experience and practice.

    • @dr.metalhead5452
      @dr.metalhead5452  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you so much!! I still haven't built up the courage to listen to it fully, but I felt the same. It's not bad, I don't think they have any bad songs, but the sound and song structure in their "old songs" was different from what we usually hear on the radio, and a part of that came from that Italian style which I was hoping they would try to perfect instead of change. I'll listen to it more, maybe I'll discover more memorable songs there, as well.

    I love that you see and desire artistic dimensions of the comunicative soul. Let's also underline another important dimension. In their new album, the track Timezone shows us a side that is very appreciated, and that is faithfulness! It's not only relative to a loved one, it goes deeper. We know Damiano can get to many and varied females, but he remains irreducibly faithful. The other members of the band are equally credible in that.

      @@dr.metalhead5452 don't you hate that when that happens. I always see the error right as I hit send.
      I have an interesting take on the Marlena subject of several songs on that album.
      That they meet Marlena (their Muse) in L'altra Dimensione and fall in love with il ballo della Vita (the dance of life...Damiano has that tattooed across his chest). Then in Morirò da Re, with Marlena by next to them they will die as a king, in Le Parole Lontane they start to feel Marlena leaving and wander lost and then Torna a Casa where they beg Marlena to come home as life cannot be perfetto without the inspiration. It is truly inspired work.

    • @dr.metalhead5452
      @dr.metalhead5452  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Unfortunately, yes. My hope was that they would try to perfect the style they had in Teatro d'ira, instead of changing it to please larger audiences. We have enough "generic"/"international" sounding songs out there, it was their Italian style that made them stand out, along with the artistry they put into the songs.
