    This is a great demonstration. Over the past 10 years running sales for QC Manufacturing and most recently with AirScape Mfg. it has been cool to see more and more people come to an understanding of ventilation cooling and the options available for their specifice home construction and designs. This is a fair comparison of how much quieter the ducted AirScape/QC type fans are. One thing thats also interesting is true airflow as most companies advertise a bench tested CFM rating while others use the more accurate HVI method which is more applicable to real world application. Keep up the great work!

    We had the last whole house fan you showed at our other home and loved it even with the noise!

      There are locks you can buy that allow the windows to be opened partially, too small an opening for someone to get in or defeat the locks. Here is a link on amazon.
      www.amazon.com/Boao-Siding-Window-Adjustable-Security/dp/B07FX4YH6W/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2AF5YEBRMADPD&keywords=window+thumb+locks&qid=1686005048&sprefix=window+thumb%2Caps%2C521&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFKWTNHNkZWSEJKVTcmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA4MzczNjYzTjhBRlozN1FYVlUzJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTEwMzU5ODUzNjJYSkFUS0FQTFFCJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
      You can then lock them partially open, about 4 inches, to allow enough air flow. At my home we have double hung windows that would require a 8 foot ladder and would be very difficult for someone to climb in through. We also have the second story windows that are safe due to the height. However, if someone is determined to enter your home they will, that is why I have firearms readily available for just such an occasion.

    Wow perfect demo. Im debating between a quiet cool and traditional house fan. My house is smaller 1500 sq ft. I like the low noise of the quiet cool. Sounds like quiet cool would be perfect for a smaller home.

    Wish I had found this video first, had to go through so much nonsense just to find out what I really wanted to know/see. Now what is the best brand 36 inch whole house fan to buy?

    I've been a whole house fan since the early 70's. My problem now is this house I have has vaulted ceilings. The attic is literally 3.5 inches high. How can I get a whole house fan properly mounted in this situation?

    Thank you for posting, it was nice to have them operating in one video to compare ... I wish you would have been quiet for some five seconds to appreciate the noise level, you kept bringing it up but you never paused talking an raised your voice so it was hard to capture....still, thanks, I may call you to check on the Tamarack price...I don't need a big one.

      Your right, but it is hard to hear the difference on video. So, I will shoot another video using a sound level recorder to show the difference and post it for you.

      Okay, I just posted a new video demonstrating the noise level difference, which really comes across on the video, plus I gave you a visual with a sound meter on my phone.

      QC ES-4700 would be good enough, however, when it comes to whole house fans size really does matter, the bigger the fan, the quicker it will exhaust air. So any of the three larger sizes will work. But if it was my house I would either choose the largest QC ES-7000 or two smaller ones like the QC ES-4700 or 3100.

      So I guess I can just use the biggest one and get by with it 👍
