How did Israel stop the Iran missile and drone attack?

  • Tehran dubbed it Operation Honest Promise - waves of drones and missiles launched from Iran, Lebanon and Yemen directly at Israel over five hours. How many of Iran and its allies weapons reached their target though?
    [Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe]
    We explain how Israel defended itself against an unprecedented attack by Iran - how layers of sophisticated missile defence successfully neutered a potentially devastating and deadly attack by Iran's military.
    And look at whether the well telegraphed assault was supposed to fail all along.

    The two airbases, the secret service building in Tel Aviv and the radar station in the (occupied) Golan heights - all of which did the consulate strike in Syria, were hit - by the top tier missiles - which are mid-tier missiles in the Iranian arsenal.

One missile was fired reportedly at the building - Iran sent a fleet of 600 ballistic missiles, UAVs and cruise missiles carrying well north of 60 tons of explosives - in no way was this proportionate - of course the attack was a dismal failure and it opens the door now because any attack on Ithe cowardly Iranian regime which has been hiding behind proxies is now fair play. Completely wrong. Iran was well aware what confronted it was one of the most sophisticated layered air defence networks in the world. And yet it still managed to achieve hits via it's ballistic missiles. Go take a look at some of the videos out there, the reentry vehicles were making evasive manoeuvres less than a second before hitting the ground. There was also a lot of warning in advance which gave them time to prepared. If this escalates further, oil goes >$150, that's going to affect the global economy.

That 99% interception figure is nonsense and the way their attack was designed was for air defences to be saturated with cheap drone swarms. If the response happens, it'll probably be a few ALBM from their fighter jets, which are hard to intercet. The US wont give them the refueling capacity, the response the next time round from Iran will be even more serious. They have the ability to shut down the strait of hormuz, which means oil spikes, and the global economy tanks. Goodbye to that India-Israel land corridor too or whatever it was.

The 99% success rate thing is an absolute joke: People don't realize how hard it is to hit a tiny object in the air going at hundreds of kilometers an hour. Israel can handle its own when fighting children, women, doctors, journalists, and aid workers. But when it goes up against Iran, it needs three foreign-funded air defense systems, three other countries to send in their own fighter pilots, two of another country's warships, and another country's air defense system. Even with all that, missiles still got through and hit Israeli military bases. Embarrassing.

      @elikanoelikano1192 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +8

      I think you are emotional, what is power and weaknesses? This is a question someone need to understand.
      When you say israel need UK, us, France USA, Jordan and saudi arabia to counter iran what are your analysis?
      First you also mentioned yes it has iron dome, so what is power? Again you are confused, leave emotion when you are observing geopolitical structures. Israel has something the middle east doesn't has, brain and this brain build ths iron dome, so you really think saudi and jordan helped? Mr you are making here a stupid observation, because they want us to be believe those two arab countries helped and you believe it?. Listen here we only know israel made the entire job and the usa little as always, the usa only make good things in term of money in term of technology israel give one of the best. So listen if saudi and Jordan intercepted something it was the usa, France and UK Arab don't have the technology, and in term of communication, allies wanted to show usa and those two European countries as big player which is geopolitically true but in term of what happened when iran sent 300 missiles it was israel which intercepted 80% that is the truth hidden also it wise to give saudi arabia a good geopolitical figure, a role of figure because iran and saudi hate each others so can you understand even communication here? This is how the usa take credit about many things it ally in that region because this is geopolitic move.
      So this doesn't mean the usa is weak no, the usa is the most strongest but in term of power but israel is the only country which take its own security seriously, if they leave stupid debates among dem and rep to define their own way to defend themselves nothing will work for them, look at gaza the entire world said but the jew state did not care and you see the result hamas has won a single land but has one strategic card hostage.
      So what you must ask is, if israel sent 300 missile in iran will iran be ingenius as israel to intercept them with 99% of success not 80% because they will use Russian s300 or s500 we have seen how ukrainian drones go even near Kremlin this is not going to work

    Each time Israel knocked one of the 30 Iranian missiles, it cost about 30 million dollars.
    There were 30 ballistic missiles, thats almost 1 billion dollars. Then for the 130 drones, maybe a million dollars to blow up each one of those. Add in the rest and we are already talking about over 1 billion US dollars.
    Iran targets were military and the one base they wanted to hit, they did. This was not an all out attach by Iran - this was a very, very expensive warning.

    $2million per defence rocket!! i guess that's part of the "success" Iran talks of, not to mention all the data gathered on positioning of defensive capabilities. What is Persian for "dagger" ?
