Awesome work there, Airin! 😉👍
🇬🇧🤜⚡️🤛🇺🇸
Just discovered this sport today and subsequently found your channel. What a beautifully crafted piece of work well done 👍😎👍🇮🇪.
Thank you! It was a little blade heavy which made it hard to control after you strike
absolutely nuts
Love this stuff man!
Super awesome
Cool build man.
Man happy to see a good compliment from you! I really enjoy watching your videos also! Would love to do some sort of collaboration with you and your channel this year if time permits!
@@Aleeknives yeah man, email or call me from my website and we'll cook something up
Will definitely do that
Great job on this.
Thanks Nick this is my first forging video it was a lot of fun, I'm going to do some more!
Love your builds and the process. One thing I would love to see is how you sharpen your blades. keep up the good work!
Thank you! I have two sharpening videos on how to sharpen regular size knives. Sword sharpening video will come shortly!
Great lookin chopper
Thank you Don! It was fun to build to! Thanks for watching!
Great video
Thanks Mike! If you liked this one please check out the spartan sword video part 2 with the cut test! I think it is some of my better work! Thanks for watching man
Awesome work bro u got me hooked 👍🏽
That's fantastic! I'm glad you're here man, thanks for watching
Awesome video
Thank you! I love this stuff! Thanks for watching
Good video..
Nice project
Thank you! It will chop nicely!
Much as I like the knife that anvil is beautiful, no kidding.
I know right! I fell in love with it. I had it shipped from Austria, don't even ask about the shipping cost! My wife might shoot me😜😂
@@Aleeknives oh yeah, I'm feeling you there. My wife thought my timing was 180 degrees out when I was building my power hammer. I fussed and fretted over this damn thing for months. I probably could have bought a lesser machine for the same money. But it's about pride right?
Look at what I built honey!!!
Hey, that's great. Whatever dude.
Just a note, you can get larger ammo cans that will fit your larger blades better for around $20-$30
Text Josh I'm actually building a larger tank right now to heat treat this new sword that I'm doing for the next video!
Wicked chopper man! I really dig the handle too. Thanks for explaining what was that hole meant for.
But dude, no test again?!
The finish on this blade took hours to achieve and it is spoken for already! I will let the owner muck it up! I am forging the sword from the movie 300 right now so I will do a cut test for you with this one unless of course someone offers to pick it up before it's done. Times are tough all around the world right now, when money is on the table you do what's needed. stay safe and healthy my friend! Cheers
I hear you, buddy. I just didn't think it could've been sold already.
You could, however, cut paper with it at least, or slice couple bottles. Not a biggie budz, you do amazing work anyway, I really enjoy your content.
Can't wait to see 300's sword!
Cheers amigo!
That would be so much fun to test and review on my channel 😁
Unfortunately that one's gone already my friend! My nightstand to sell really fast. Sometimes before I even finish publishing a video! Thanks for watching
Great video... I wouldnt have known what the hole is for either. If you dont mind me asking... what kind of grinder are you using? I am looking into getting a good one and interested to know what the good ones are
I am using a KMG from beaumont metal works for the vertical, an AMK for the horizontal and a homemade disc setup running the beaumont metal works 1 degree bevel 9 inch disc. There are a ton of good grinders on the market today! I would do some research into something that can switch between vertical and horizontal to save space. I do enjoy having 2 dedicated rigs though. Thanks for watching!
I want to buy
I like your channel, I don't have the equipment to make knifes,
do you sell those knifes?
Yes I do, I sell every knife I make at a local gun shop! The Olathe Gun Shop in Kansas City. If you're interested feel free to give them a call and they'll let you know what they have in stock
@@Aleeknives thanks buddy
Nice vid dude.
May you give some specs please? What are blade thickness at the back and before secondary Bevel (thickness before sharpening).
Thanks!!!
Unfortunately I haven't had that bad boy in my hand for like 5 months. I will tell you it was a solid quarter inch thick
@@Aleeknives thanks guy. And usually how much do you leave before sharpening?
I leave it about the thickness of a dime before heat treat then down to half that for a chopper style knife. Then I make the secondary bevel
@@Aleeknives sorry i dont understand dîme...(i'am french)... May you explain? Thanks a lot for your answers!!!
What do you mean by annealing the steel??
Annealing steel brings it back to a soft workable state before you harden it. It gives all your abrasives a break!
Since it seems like no channel that I watch where someone is using a forge can give an accurate representation of how long it takes to heat metal, please indulge me.
How long did it take for that piece of steel to get hot enough for you to work it?
I'm assuming the first time you put it in the forge it takes much longer than putting it back in, right? What's the time-frame on after the first heating?
Thanks, man!
You jave brought up an excellent point! I tend to run my videos longer than other channels also! But I still can't squeeze it all in a single video without cutting a lot out during the editing process. To answere your question. There are several variables that affect the answere. Every forge heats up differently and also insulates the heat differently. Each different steel needs to be forged at different temperatures. Let's make this easy though. 1084 steel, heat it till it glows orange and almost yellow then start forging. It takes about 10 minutes in my forge on full blast to get my steel this hot. You are correct that it heats back up quicker due to 2 facts the forge is now up to heat and the steel retains some heat. Stop forging the steel as soon as the orange fades and return ot to the forge! I am making a new forging video this week! It will release on Sunday! I hope to see you there!
@@Aleeknives Fantastic. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to explain that to me. And yes, you've earned yourself a subscriber.
please make something similar to Bob Kramers Chef Knife in 52100 ...
I will do! I did just make one, however, I did not make a video. Thanks for watching!
love your work, learning a lot
Question I've forged before but recently I've been wanting to do it on my own and was wondering were would I find a good forge?
Make one or buy one. Lots of choices
@@Aleeknives if I was to buy one do you have any recommend websites
Rob with bonifab customs! Tell him I sent you and he will hook you up!
