Some of us are not rich and ONLY have a motorcycle (an older one) and had to/have to ride to work and school and every where; rain or shine. 12 years later and about 10 bikes later, this chick is still riding to work, and I enjoy it to this day. When I drive a truck or car I feel weird and almost will fall asleep if I drive in bumper to bumper traffic or even if I’m on the freeway for an hour going a steady 80mph. I have to have the windows down on the freeway to keep my brain stimulated.

Thanks for this video Matt, I’m a senior in HS and just recently purchased my first bike. Although I am itching to ride to school because I love it so much, I’m anxious as to what may happen to it when I am not there. It sucks but after this video, I will probably not ride to school and keep the riding to myself.

from the uk, just bought a split new bike with all my money and the anxious feeling you talk about is so real here, my family always asks why I don't ride to school anymore but the time from locking up my bike and taking all my gear off im late and i don't wan to go to class incase my bike is gone when im in class😭

Fun vlog! As for me I like to commute to work. It's not necessarily faster indeed, but definitely enjoyable. Especially when hitting some traffic on the highways or within city bounds.
But riding out for fun, or a trip with or without destination or to a motorcycle dealership to get a coffee look at bikes, hang out and look through gear, or just ride to go eat somewhere are definitely more enjoyable.
I hate the traffic right there in Sville I deal with that every day on my way to work

I’m 15 rn, and I when I become 17-19 I wanna buy a bike and ride it to school. Now I say this because by my school there is a lot of traffic, because my school is my a city, called manhattan…crazy amount of traffic. My “smart ass” thinks that it would be a good idea, but now that ur saying these things. Idk about bringing/ridding it to school now… 5:49 but it is my dream/ultimate goal to ride it to school one day.😊 😢

I hate to say it but riding to the gym also takes a lot longer. Having to put on gear, get there, put all your gear in a locker/change into a new set of clothes .. end workout, have to get the gear again, towel off your hair .. get BACK in your gear, then go off. Wahh

As a freshman in college who rides,
I absolutely understand the aspect of not wanting people to touch your bikes. But if you are willing to accept the risk i think it's a great thing to do.
When you have a bad day at school or are stressed, being forced to think about one thing that you love doing is a great way to break out of the doom and gloom.
And if the majority of the time I'm spending on the road is to school I would rather spend it on a bike I love.

@@thoughtaken A brake disc lock takes some of that tension off! If you get one with an alarm, people won't even be able to touch the bike without the alarm going off.

I have this cheap Chinese electric motorcycle that I ride everywhere. I've had it for a year and only now did I just learn that it has a steering lock. Thanks for teaching me something new!

I do like watching your riding content, and it seems that whenever you’re riding, you have something thought provoking to talk about. Best of both worlds.
Wait until you are in grad school and come casually strolling into a 90 minute class every single time 30 minutes after it started. Then, you ace the final exam and get a letter of congratulations from the professor. You run into him in the cafeteria line and thank him for the letter. He then scowls and goes "oh, that's YOU."
Working 2 jobs in school to be able to get my first bike. Very excited! Long road ahead but hopefully soon. Also as a francophone myself, I love seeing other people learn french. Really is a beautiful language.

Duolingo may help with french, even though I took french at school, I still find it a great tool for passive learning.

I have absolutely no idea what it's like in America but I live in the Czech Republic in the middle of Europe and here you can ride your motorcycle in front of the school all you want and I'm 89% sure nothing will happen to it people here have a lot of respect and are more likely to be happy to look at it rather than sit on it or destroy it.

i’m ngl senior i was skipping here and there but once it got close to graduation it hit me that i was gonna be done so i stopped doing that
How did you guys find what you what you want to do? I’m 22 and still have no idea, the only things right now that I like to do is play video games with my friends ( the only way I have to be with them since I live in another country) and soon ride motorcycles (will soon get my license) would love to hear how you found out what you like to do and how you made that your job.

Okay as Someone who lives in a place where motorbikes are stolen Immediately if left without external devices. Things to get
A monimoto Tracker - (Or any external Tracking device, an apple airtag will do) the monimoto Has an Alarm that pings your phone when moved(I.e someone sitting on it) and a Keyfob to disable it when your in VERY close proximity.
A disk Lock Preferably made by Oxford like the Oxford Screamer will make a Loud Obnoxious scream (like 120db) that will draw attention to the bike that it is being handled outside of the Owners intent.
Further than that if your lucky enough to have a Bike/bicycle Parking area they will typically have a fixed Structure like a pole or Mounting rack that a Chain like any of Oxfords lineup will be chained to.
And in many parts You will not get a ticket as any ticket inspectors can see your obvious Lack of trust in Society

I personally find College a waste of money, time, and just useless depending on your degree. I’m making more money than all my friends and some adults I know and I’m 16 working for Family Business started 5 years ago with no degrees or even a diploma let alone GED. Things have truly changed. But that’s just my opinion. 😂

Trades make so much more then you think, the only reason the average is higher for college is because of the doctors, lawyers, etc.
Iv been driving to high school and college on my bike and Idk if it's cause I look scary to people (i dont try to but being tall with a resting b face people dont ever think im not gonna chop there head off or something crazy) but I also live in a small town and there really cool iv had no one do anything like that, it's not like anyone treats me different really besides a question or two ever once and a while. And while I'm at it ima rant a little to the nothing Ness of youtube, but I just thought of it but my brothers recently had to ride with me for school since he has no other vehicle, a d so he takes a helmet with him and he gets people asking him questions and blah blah, nut he is a much less imposing person, and idk I don't want fame right I'm not into that but it makes me feel kinda sad that I seem to scare everyone away nowadays, and iv got some good friends hell my brother rn was a friend that was I'm a pinch and now he's my brother, but I do wish people would make small talk with me like I at least think I'm a decent person, I don't want to scare people off idk, I'll get off my soap box, lol.
