- This video had been one I wanted to put together sooner, but with the last winter being a very mild one things didn't go as planned. I've been getting a lot of questions lately asking about this shoe. Now that we are approaching the winter season again, I thought I would put together a video going over one of my dedicated pairs of footwear I purchased for winter backpacking. I share a closer look, the fit and my first impressions of the Altra Olympus 5 Mid GTX. The Olympus series has been in rotation for me over the last few years along with my favorite Lone Peaks. I hope this brief first look video helps anyone interested in the shoe. I'll post a follow up video on this channel after I get more mileage in with the Olympus 5 Mid GTX.

My friend said they are more comfortable than not even wearing shoes. I’ve had lone peaks and allwtr since 2019 these really do look amazing

I have bee using these and they are fantastic in below zero conditions but too warm for anything above 2C

The widest version of Altra is Torin 7 WIDE (only in blue). It's fantastic and I hope they will make wide waterproof shoes in the future.
