I like this mainly cause of the pure comradery that majima and kiryu have here. No secret agendas, no doubt in each other's minds. Just two guy's hanging out. Which for kiryu is something I feel he need's as the only other time he's done this with another guy was with nishiki (R.I.P) and with how closed off he normally is, seeing him sing a song with majima was bliss.

What i learned from the series is that it is me who sets my limits and halfassing what you do wont get you anywhere, walk with pride, become stronger with every encounter and protect the people you call brothers, if theres the slightest chance you will succeed in life then push those chances to their limit even if everyone else gives up. I used to think that everything i do was left unnoticed, it made me anxious everyday but i realised that a man doesnt do what he does just for the appreciation of others, a man becomes stronger with every hardship that he overcomes. This song basically embodies the yakuza series. There's the core story, filled with despair, yet moments of just being batshit crazy mixed in. Snaps you out of the rhythm at times, but keeps things from stagnating.
That's the vibes I was getting, especially when the music becomes soft and Kiryu holds onto a bloodied Majima. It really looks like a Yakuza death scene
Seems like the opposite to me. Kiryu always tries leaving, but gets involved with Yakuza business anyway and drags Majima back in with him. Like in 2. Kiryu decides to help the Tojo clan and gets Majima to leave Majima constructions and go back to the Tojo clan. In 3, Kiryu AGAIN, asks Majima to go back to the Tojo to support Daigo. Now, Majima really stays for Daigo and Saejima.
In the karaoke gamplay, i love how at the end when majima crashes, he doesnt flinch and stays completely still. Not even some whiplash from the crash or a smile or nothing. Hes just... there.

The voices of these characters are incomparable with whatever people could try to do in other languages. Usually I defend English voice acting and like it even more than the original in most of the anime I watch (don't kill me), but after hearing how it went in Yakuza 7, no...I love Matthew Mercer but he can't Majima...and no one can Kiryu as Takaya Kuroda.

There's something about this song that always lifts up my spirits. There are many inspirational songs out there, but this one hits different. Many songs of the kind usually go about how "life is good, and as long as you do what you want, nothing will hurt you", which is not a bad message; but this one feels far more grounded, because it acknowledges suffering. Yes, life will be cruel. Yes, you will suffer. Yes, all the lights may fade away... But even then, you still have to rise from the cruel pit of despair. At the end of the day, the only thing that is truly yours is your pride, so light the fire within it and engulf the pain. You will suffer, you will fail sometimes.... But wouldn't giving up be far worse? What would all that pain mean, then? Make that pain worth it. Otherwise, why are you still here? To collect pain without a reward?

The way the song bounces between rather chaotic chatter, quickly-rapped lyrics, and a catchy pop-esque chorus, all while keeping a consistently hard-rock/metal tone, reminds me a lot of Maximum the Hormone; especially Buiikikaesu, I'm sure there was some inspiration taken there. I don't blame em, MTH kicks ass.
I am absolutely addicted to that song! What a banger. Im currently on yakuza 3 and this is the best song so far. Hope the other games will continue to impress me with such masterpieces
This song and this video was one of the things that carry me through my years long depression. I am grateful for the assist. I also know the chorus in both thematic tone and melody are a great fit for "Future Pop" though one would have to go crazy to make most of everything else fit.

haha, i got used to it while working on the video, japanese is quite a melodic language that flows well into itself so its not too hard if you know the words, its a lot easier to sing this fast in japanese than english. its one of the reasons i didn't bother with singable english lyrics and just went for a translation instead
OMG this is the only translation i found that has the backing vocals during 0:58 and holy shit i was not disappointed. i thought i was hearing "fuck up" during that part but i thought "no that must just be my english brain hearing english words" but they are actually saying "hey boy! get up fuckers!" that is so fucking epic.

Seems like the opposite to me. Kiryu always tries leaving, but gets involved with Yakuza business anyway and drags Majima back in with him.
Like in 2. Kiryu decides to help the Tojo clan and gets Majima to leave Majima constructions and go back to the Tojo clan.
In 3, Kiryu AGAIN, asks Majima to go back to the Tojo to support Daigo.
Now, Majima really stays for Daigo and Saejima.

Being in a shitty situation, whether it be financially or you’re in deep with something in business, having health problems and a lot of these lyrics are encouragement, encouragement to YOU as a person in general. It’s encouragement that you keep on pushing, pushing on with your life and that you make an effort. An effort to be the best person you can possibly be, and that’s also why this is a song I listen to whenever exercising/working out now :)

Oh wow, thanks for translating, I need to read the lyrics of this song while I listen to it for the rest of my life...I love how unique the Yakuza games are. The voices of these characters are incomparable with whatever people could try to do in other languages. Usually I defend English voice acting and like it even more than the original in most of the anime I watch (don't kill me), but after hearing how it went in Yakuza 7, no...I love Matthew Mercer but he can't Majima...and no one can Kiryu as Takaya Kuroda.

haha, i got used to it while working on the video, japanese is quite a melodic language that flows well into itself so its not too hard if you know the words, its a lot easier to sing this fast in japanese than english. its one of the reasons i didn't bother with singable english lyrics and just went for a translation instead
