I really think a level skip was the wrong choice in these games as reward for a tougher goal. Because if you want that feeling of achievement of getting through all the stages the best way possible, it makes that impossible to do. A better choice I think would be to give you a collectible item that grants some sort of in-game bonus or maybe even just as a seperate superscore to collect by the end of it.

Spiral just requires perfect timing, pretty difficult but not impossible.
