The reunion has been absolute magic. Look up any tune from their “United Alive” DVD, the onstage chemistry and genuine comraderie is a sight to behold. Believe me, the fan battles over the Helloween vocalists rival the Nightwish drama. Never say never!

At least they have set aside their differences, made peace and accepted that they have moved on. That they can be side by side on stage like this and even hug proves it. Friendship was never gone entirely.

This is not a Nightwish project. Marco and the "Heavy Christmas music team" organized Tarja to join for some gigs and album to perform heavy style Christmas songs together. I do not know the details but what is nice is that these two "sparrows" sing duetto like one and need no practice cause this co-operation comes from their spines even though 12 years break ... I think.
Pretty sure Tarja won't be going back to Nightwish, would be nice, but she doesn't need it, her solo career has been successful and she's doing non-metal work now and she's a judge on Finland's version of "The Voice"
She was a judge last year, not any more. It's very good, if she's doing non-metal work, as singing metal isn't good for her voice. And Nightwish doesn't need her either, now that they have Floor Jansen. It'd be nice to see some co-operation sometimes though... I'm pretty sure she can make peace and hug with the other NW guys too.
Look at it this way. Nightwish has (in my opinion) the best female vocalist the world has ever seen, Floor. And they are very happy. Tarja has gone her own way, creating some really beautiful music herself, which makes me very happy! Will Tarja ever be featured at a Nightwish concert? Well, never say never. Floor and Tarja are also really good friends, :-).
I am embarassed everytime a Nightwish fan say Floor is "the best female vocalist the world has ever seen". Just goes to show some of us are like frogs under a coconut shell. Floor is fine for Nightwish fans' vocals standards, or niched pop metal genre standards.

@@janspiljard Hi there. We are talking about a singer who chose to be and was chosen to sing in a symphonic metal genre band or whatever genre Nightwish is in now. I am not too sure what a "not typical" Nightwish fan is. As far as I can read, many Nightwish fans are vocals experts stating at lenght and repititively, Floor's ability to switch from head to chest voice and vice versa, can belt, growls, grunts etc. I have heard her tries at some opera pieces which was regretable. I don't care too much for growls, grunts and screams nowadays as "proof" of great talent and/or versatility in singing. Floor can't do jazz, soul, r&b, soul or even folkish songs and ballads with conviction and authenticity. Made me realised when she sings Sleeping Sun or Elan that her voice is sweetly girlish and without depth. Even for Nightwish's slower tempo songs/ballads, Anette is better and Tarja is magnificent in affecting listeners. Floor is best at straight up rockers giving fans a rush. She can sustain notes, but can't hit high notes and the straining and pushing is apparent. Anette's warm timbre and jazz inflected singing style makes her distinctive. Tarja's base of European classical singing style infused with the stylings of African-American soul singers makes her distinctive. Not to mention her timbre. Floor is the most convectional of them in her textbook and expected rock and metal vocals stylings. Some would say Billie Holiday is a lousy singer with a lousy voice compared to Ella Fitzgerald, but what an impact and influence she has too in singing and on music. Beyonce, Etta James and Tina Turner etc has sung in more music genres than Floor and with great influence and impact in the genres they sang in and beyond. I like masters and influencers in music. Celine Dion's fans may insist she is the best singer ever, but Whitney Houston fans knows she set the trend of vocals divas with influences till today in the likes of Ariana Grande even. Floor is a good singer whom no one has said she was inspired and influenced by artistically. Even Amy Lee, Sharon, Simone or Tatiana fans would not yield to Floor as best singer, much less Beyonce or Lady Gaga. And both these two ladies are terrific and genuine artists who are technically great and artistically creative.I also agree with boomers who insisted the likes of Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Etta James are great, impactful, memorable and influential female singers in the rock genres till today. For really impressive technical singing, there's opera. Ok. I want to have fun and watch Band Maid. Cheers

Very nice and I appreciate their duo, but in all honesty, Floor is so much better. It only takes the Aaa of Ave to reduce me to a total mess. Her voice is phenomenal.
This is totally opinion for an individual taste. I have not heard better than this. The emotion and feeling is so amazing too...including the audience which is in trans. By the way...they sing this in Finnish...I assume Tarja can do that quite better.

I think Tarja and Marko are okay together these days but as far as I know, Tarja and Tuomas are still not speaking to each other.
