    Did mine by taking out valve core (removal tool from Harbor Freight $3.00) buying a liquid transfer hand pump again from Harbor Freight ($12.00, came with adapter) and pumping the washer fluid in. Takes less than a minute per gallon, put valve core back, add air, done.

    Are you tires backwards

    • @justooln2
      @justooln2  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@joeparker7508 yes. I put them like that to help prevent scalping my lawn when I turn. It helps a little. But w tires this aggressive they peel the lawn on any tight turn.

    Yup I've done it on all my zero turns and it does lower the center of gravity and give you better traction. Any farmer will tell you they have methanol or antifreeze in their tires.

      Years ago they used lead dust in the tires of heavy-duty equipment . The freight outfit that I worked for used to handle this and I would have to unload it and even when it was loaded you had to line the sides of the trailer with these little barrels they were so freaking heavy.

    Stumbled upon this video while looking for comments on going for a more aggressive tire for zero turn mowers. I was thinking about going with the carlisle stryker like you have and wanted to know your opinion on them. I only have a few small hills, but also have a few wet areas and a spring in the yard. thanks for any feedback.

    • @justooln2
      @justooln2  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kenny Dennis, they are great if you need them. You've got to re-learn your machine thou or you'll just strip your lawn. My turns are wide and sweeping now. But I can go just about wherever I want to. Sideways on hills and mild wet grass is no longer as big of an issue.
      My dragging tire strips a patch around my trees (I like this).

    How long before the wheels rust out? You should use tubes.

      Terry J Tubes would be good. But I’ve ran up to 7 years without any issues.

    Is there a reason that you mounted the Strykers backwards on your zero turn? Does it keep you from tearing up your yard so much?

    • @justooln2
      @justooln2  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      bigbluegpr you'll tear up the yard no matter what, if you make tight turns with an aggressive tread. I run these backwards so the wipe as opposed to dig. No loss of traction overall.

    Will this work in tires that have inner tubes? Putting the water in the tubes?

    • @justooln2
      @justooln2  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Same principle. But you may have an issue w air between the tube and tire.

      I put them on this way to try and keep from digging holes in my lawn. They still strip the grass if I turn to tight but it’s a give and take.

    What does windshield wiper fluid have , methanol alcohol. What does methanol alcohol do to some rubbers and plastics.

    • @justooln2
      @justooln2  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to mix antifreeze go ahead, hell go ahead and use concrete if you want. But if you really want to pursue this question, First you need to establish what your tires are made of. natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), polybutadiene rubber (BR), and butyl rubber (along with halogenated butyl rubber).
      This is completely dependent on manufacturer.
      Then you can pull of this nifty little chart; mykin.com/rubber-chemical-resistance-chart-4 and cross reference the. Just take a look and decide for yourself.

    • @justooln2
      @justooln2  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very much so, only down fall is the fact that you strip the grass if you turn to tightly.

    Hey thanks for the video man, just subscribed - Great info! - I have a situation where, basically I built a sleeve hitch with an actuator, then welded
    up a plow for it etc...The tires started to spin out, so I got the Carlisle's with traction bars. It still spins out.
    My question to you is, how beneficial would you say the washer fluid is in this situation?
    I just don't feel like wheel weights would give me much advantage - Don't know if chains would help much in my situation, but here is where
    I am at...The plowing starts out fine, then bam-tires spinning. I thought my weight at 220 would fix that, but to no avail so far. It begins to
    spin out, I start to lift it up, and finally, barely touching the ground it will take off again. Its like, 'I am almost there', but not quite.
    In your opinion, what kind of increase in traction can one expect by adding the washer fluid?
    Thanks man!

    • @justooln2
      @justooln2  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Patrick Paul I can't guarantee the washer fluid will fix it, but if you're almost there is bet filling them would get you there. It's the cheapest easiest way to get you more traction.

    • @patrickpaul1783
      @patrickpaul1783 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cool man, thanks! - I was on the fence with that one for a while - the wheel weights were just insane cost-wise - Its just a hella lotta beer money! Thanks for the reply, and heck, there is no way it would be worse at all. At the very least, there would have to be at least some traction gain, so I certainly have a lot of confidence in this approach. I am about a week away from my wiper washer earnings, but I will let you know how it goes. Just in physics alone, there is certain to be some improvement in the process. At any rate, awesome videos! - Keep em' coming man!
