The first video I saw from you was a procreate vs fresco video. I fought myself but after switching, not only do I enjoy fresco 1000 times better, I also draw almost every day
Ok. Job well done. You may have converted me to Fresco. I used it when it first came out and I hated it… but this looks awesome. Especially the brush flexibility.
This is a great instructional piece for me. So helpful! You've got great content. I'm also a huge fan of long-form Draw With Me videos. I just can't believe how every illustration channel that focuses on long-form Draw With Me sessions are all centered around Procreate. Even on platforms like SkillShare. What's up with that? You've definitely convinced me of Fresco. Now I just need more of the illustration community to jump on the bandwagon!
Thanks so much! I think a lot of people don’t know about Fresco and are just comfortable with Procreate. It’s a great app and many people don’t really need the extra stuff that Fresco can do. But for those of us that do, it’s sort of a game changer.
Like Chris said. I also think that Kyle and team need to start pushing Fresco more. I just do not think Adobe is doing a decent marketing and promotion with Fresco like they are with their Adobe Firefly or some other newer apps they seem to be pushing.
I'm not gonna lie, I thought you were just on adobe's payroll at first. I recently had to do a project in illustrator and kind of enjoyed the program. Now I'm giving Fresco a fair shake and loving it so far. Personally, I like vector because it feels cleaner to me, if that makes sense. Being able to draw a bit more freely than illustrator is kind of eye opening and your guides are the perfect intro to it. Thanks.
Hah nope, definitely not being paid by Adobe. That would be nice. I just find Fresco to do everything I need in such an efficient way, that paired with the vector capabilities and great motion tools make it perfect for me. A lot of people don't know about it, so it's become something that I do lots of videos about to share the stuff that helps me out.
Hi Chris, the content you create is inspiring. Not only that you convinced me about the need for an iPad, but Adobe Fresco was one of the main reasons for choosing Apple ecosystem over Android as I wanted a tool which is capable to take on a go. A drawing tablet like a Wacom was not an option. Furthermore I am also able to exploit calligraphy in Fresco using vector brushes.
This is awesome !!! Are you going to go into a deep dive on managing files and how they work within the CC App ? This is the one thing that is very confusing. Also creating palettes and using the Adobe color website to save your palettes and swatches you create ?
Huh. I never would have thought to try fresco. Now I have to. I always missed drawing on my wacom/iMac in photoshop (yea I know I'm weird for not using illustrator) for things like "paste into" and I'm running to my iPad right now to try it out again. Thanks for these videos!
Hi Chris! Are we restricted from creating pixel and mixer brushes from within Fresco? It appears that I cannot create brushes similarly to Photoshop. For example, some brushes have their settings hidden compared to others. I’m not sure how we can change shape/texture. Ultimately, do we need to create our brushes inside Photoshop for full control and then import them into Fresco? Thank you!
I don’t think Fresco has all the advanced brush building stuff that Photoshop has. Making them in Photoshop is definitely going to give you the most control/options at this point. Who knows if that will change though.
Is there a way to id an element within the drawing to find out what layer it is on without scrolling through the layers, or activate it? ✌️ I probably should have asked in your layers video😬
i have a question: if i use this program for drawing some backgrounds in development of a game (about the free version), i must pay some "commission" in case i start to make money with this game? Or is total free for uses like that? (nice vídeo about the program by the way)
I was always loving procreate so much and was hoping for years and actually believing that they will one day bring some updates like fresco, the vector and all. But all they did was a terrible animation app. After so many years, I seem to be parting from procreate. Fresco can do everything I ever wanted, and more.
I need to know : can u make glowing effects using only vector brushes ? I can't find a way to make smooth transitions between 2 colors without adding a pixel layer, so maybe there's a trick to mimic that with vectors ?
Why my pressure sensitivity doesnt work with any brush? on my tablet application which is a huion and other apps like krita and photoshop my pen pressure works fine but when i use fresco it doesnt. Also i know that i selected the pressure pen on fresco because it shows in the brush preview but when i draw it doesnt work. i Tried to unistall my graphic table app and reinstall still no result . I also tried to find some Fresco files but i couldnt even find them, idk where they are.
Yes and no. Fresco is much more focused on drawing/painting and as a result provides a better experience for that. It also has the ability to draw with vector brushes, the live brushes, and the special motion features that you’d have to do manually in Photoshop. I spent years drawing in Photoshop before the iPad and now I much prefer to work in Fresco.
But why use photoshop or other drawing app if you can do the same in adobe fresco and plus you can create vector art? like i dont see any reason to draw on photoshop because theres everything in adobe fresco
It would be funny, hear me out, if you had a character co host.. that you created.. for when you look off camera to say something.. just an unsolicited idea!
@@chris-piascik lol the character is totally animated, and you could be the voice. Alter the voice or something. I believe you have some funny accents in you
How about a deep dive into LAYERS in Adobe Fresco? th-cam.com/video/cQR2cGIvKdk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oEklUcBY0YUVPsG-
Appreciate the shoutout, as always, man! Your videos are so pro- fantastic, as usual. ✨🤘
Thanks so much!

Chris you are god sent . Goldmine of information !
So glad my videos are helpful for you!
That was a great overview. Thank you!
Glad you thought so!

I loved this video! Hell, I love all your vids!
I appreciate that
Love your presets, highly recommended 👍
Thank you!
Awesome video man! I'm looking forward to experimenting more with Fresco custom brushes 😎👍
Thank you! Glad you liked it.

This is my first time watching one of your videos - so easy to follow - fantastic - thank you. Looks like I have a few more to go and watch now 👍
Awesome, thank you!
I needed this video so badly, u just explained everything I was lost about thx a lot 👍🏻
Oh so glad to hear!

Thank you! I’ll consider doing something about files in the future. I did talk about the palette thing in my recent color video.
@@chris-piascik Cool thanks. I'll go check out the palette video as well.
Cool, hope you like it!
Aw…the savior has answered
Hah are you referring to Kyle Webster? Or is this one of those weird out of context religious comments I’ve been getting lately?
@@chris-piascik not really though, just hv been waiting for a video solely on vector and pixel brushes
Huh. I never would have thought to try fresco. Now I have to. I always missed drawing on my wacom/iMac in photoshop (yea I know I'm weird for not using illustrator) for things like "paste into" and I'm running to my iPad right now to try it out again. Thanks for these videos!

Where do I find all those multicolor brushes you have? the chain, cheese and rainbow ones ?
Is there a way to id an element within the drawing to find out what layer it is on without scrolling through the layers, or activate it? ✌️ I probably should have asked in your layers video😬
Unfortunately not…
i have a question: if i use this program for drawing some backgrounds in development of a game (about the free version), i must pay some "commission" in case i start to make money with this game? Or is total free for uses like that? (nice vídeo about the program by the way)
It’s totally free for you to use however you want. There’s no limit for how you use what you make in the app, it’s 100% yours.
I was always loving procreate so much and was hoping for years and actually believing that they will one day bring some updates like fresco, the vector and all. But all they did was a terrible animation app. After so many years, I seem to be parting from procreate. Fresco can do everything I ever wanted, and more.
Ah yeah, they don’t seem interested in vector.
I need to know : can u make glowing effects using only vector brushes ? I can't find a way to make smooth transitions between 2 colors without adding a pixel layer, so maybe there's a trick to mimic that with vectors ?
No, the vector brushes only allow for solid colors or outlines.
@chris-piascik well guess I'll have to keep combining pixels and vectors then, even if it feels unpleasant 😒 thx for the answer 👍🏻
Hello, I'm trying to add some of the brushes on Adobe Fresco, but it doesn't show on the tab when it says fonts added. How long does it take?
Fonts or brushes? If brushes, are you adding them with the “get more brushes” thing in the brush menu?
Yes
What is the name of the uniformed dotted brush that is used on the cover of this video?
I believe that is one of Kyle Webster’s halftone brushes that are available through Adobe Fresco.
Why my pressure sensitivity doesnt work with any brush? on my tablet application which is a huion and other apps like krita and photoshop my pen pressure works fine but when i use fresco it doesnt. Would you say that Adobe fresco is adobe photoshop without photo manipulation and of course other PS features
Yes and no. Fresco is much more focused on drawing/painting and as a result provides a better experience for that. It also has the ability to draw with vector brushes, the live brushes, and the special motion features that you’d have to do manually in Photoshop. @@chris-piascik nice thanks
Its a lot more modern and convenient. Its like photoshop but for illustrators finally
is it free forever or you have to buy it after 1 month?
Nope it’s not a trial, the free version is free.
@@chris-piascik thx
If you pay for one year, then stop paying, do you still have access to those brushes you downloaded?
That’s a good question. I actually don’t know because I’ve had a CC subscription since before Fresco came out.
But why use photoshop or other drawing app if you can do the same in adobe fresco and plus you can create vector art? like i dont see any reason to draw on photoshop because theres everything in adobe fresco

Lol
It’s not $9.99 a year. It is $79.99 a year.
I don’t think you could draw bad if you tried, even your doodles look printable.
Haha well I appreciate that!
