Great lesson , straight to the point, no verbiage, every note and every word coming with ease. thank you Dave . My only problem with this song is getting the words timed right , and you have helped me with this.
Sweet Masterbuilt Epi!! Great tone, none of that annoying mega bright treble...yuk! I just bought an Epiphone Excellente, and it is saaaah-weet! Jack ~'()'~ Canada AKA ' Commie - Da' under Crime Minister Justa Turdo!!
i plaY AMAJ 7 ON THUNB ON 5 FRET LOW E OPEN A LITTLE FINGER 7 FRET OF D STRING ON G STRING 3 FINGER 6 FRET B STRING 2 FINGER 5 FRET NOTES A A A C# E G# YOU did a very great job on this thank you
No BS. No history of the song, no fifteen minute biography of the band and the songwriter. Just straight into it. OTHER GUITAR CHANNELS SHOULD TAKE NOTE. Thank you sir.
Dave, amazing lesson as always🎯 Could you do more ELO hits⁉️ You add those little chord and note ingredients that are hard to find elsewhere😎 Definitely staying tuned in, a devoted fan.
I think this is my favorite ELO song. I need to look a few chords up as I can't always see what strings your fingering. I miss those chord diagrams they use in the cheat books.
..and now for a more serious reply. Clearly you meant to say F#7 no root, 1st inversion. Let me explain why that is not the chord used. The Chord you are claiming is A# C# E over A#. This can be used however, it is not what is being played on the record as you can clearly still hear the G in the chords carried over from the A7 before it. The notes of the chord on the record are A# C# E G which is an A#dim7. You can also see it as an F#7b9(no root) but that would be silly. When you hear the transition properly you will hear A C# E G go to A# C# E G . The root note is moving changing the chord. Thanks for watching though and thanks for your comment.
best tutorial ever! Also, man I first heard this song in a video by Casey Neistat (hope you know him) but the song played there's not the original one. maybe you'll know which one it is. Here's the link to the video... th-cam.com/video/rRwcIumf-mI/w-d-xo.html it starts at 5:26 I think.
Dude you do a great job but write the words for the actual song out, so that your singing the words of the song and not something else your just making up, it's very hard to follow when your doing that! other then that as I said great job, thanks!
Gig and busk this one ...This is a vv good tutorial..Exactly like the recording...👍👍👍👏😎

All killer // zero filler! Great breakdown lesson. #VG 🤟🏽😎🛸
Thanks man. I hope you are well.
Despite the doowap added to the song... Those major 7th notes always tear me up.
Omg this is a big trip in the past with that ELO song. Again, I really like how you do your lessons videos 👍 very simple approach, and very friendly.
You are the Best Dave, thanks.

Great work man! Helped me spot some details I missed previously., with the diminished chords. Definitely a Beautiful song, by a F'IN GENIUS!
Nice ! The Am 9 chord very cool, and the Fº 7, thanks a lot
Great lesson, any chance anyone can explain the little "string" fill after the chorus -- not sounding right for me?

You are the only one who has gotten this song right. Kudos. I'll subscribe. Good stuff. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for noticing. Usually I do lessons for songs I can't find anyone else doing, or I don't like the lessons that are up there.

If there is a chord eluding you, let me know, I can help.
Damn good old ELfn0
Funny how. Chorus 1. Isnt called a bridge.
Try F7 (no root, 1st pos.) in place of A#dim 7.
You try it I'm just playing the chords on the record
