I got both the Truthear x Crinacle Zero and now the QKZ x HBB (just delivered) I can say now that my older Zeros have a noticeable difference in footsteps and everything in apex, they sound better than the QKZ x HBB but I like the build quality more on the QKZ x HBB
i will get a pair of these during 11.11 since I trust your judgement for gaming stuff, this is not my tuning preference (7hz zero is) but I'm down to experiment with eq and how it affects the experience
When you said only $19.99 I was like ok now you have got my attention. I'm Australian so they would probably be closer to double that price but that's still super cheap for a solid gaming iem.

watch your vid using qkz hbb. yeah this set is awesome for gaming, that bass slam, and smoothness in treble make this also good for competitive game. the bass bleed still tolerable though, not like bloating and overun the mids.
Agreed! In some song tracks with constant thump the bleed can occur but in gaming and most tracks no issue at all! Only noticed in val when spamming vandal
i hv both. qkz hbb have more bass and mids more forward compared to cra. vocal have more body, compared to cra imo lil bit on the thin side. cra have more clarity, but qkz hbb treble less fatiguing, less sharp, less sibilance, more smooth.
@@JC_88_88 thanks man! i did try de cra's a few weeks ago and did like them especially the bass and mids, highs were a bit fatiging in some songs especially the T and S region, for what you tell me i would buy one qkz to try, seems like what i was missing with the cra
@@Crusher91 if you looking for iem that bassy & less fatiguing/sibilant, this could be what you're looking for. 7hz zero also a great option coz the tune its more balance. but tbh, 7hz zero low in my opinion kinda boring, too analytical, too serious, really for enthusiasts. qkz hbb way more fun sounding.
i hope your list on the budget options gets bigger! not every gamer has 300-1000 bux for an iem!😅 like myself i already have a 560s but getting tired of wearing headphones which is why im interested on getting an iem! i have an earpods but not really that good compared to the 560s.

How big of a difference is there between these and the Dunu Vulkan? It’s hard to differentiate sometimes due to the large gap in price. Therefore, a $20 set that sounds really good will get hyped up but I’m not sure how close it gets to something like that.
Ok so I currently own both, and the Vulkans have a completely different sound signature, a broader soundstage and more emphasis in the 4-8k hz region. Imaging is superior but vertical audio is about the same, That being said the QKZ HBB is quite amazing for the price and exceptional for music listening. I didn’t feel hindered whatsoever playing apex vs the Vulkan. The vulkans just made it easier to pinpoint sound cues especially when things get hectic in game.

Have collected quite a few chifi IEMs over the years (CCA CRA, Chu, KZ CRN [lol], Final E500 etc) but none of them have really impressed me in gaming specifically. Recently it's been awfully hot here in Finland though, so my open backs with brainwavz pads have been killing me (even though they're the perforated ones!) Haven't been keeping up with the IEM market much, but these seem to be what I've been looking for. My other choice was the Simgot EM6L's but I figured blind buying these for around 19 dollars new was more reasonable than the Simgots which are like 80usd used, 120usd new.
Hey Fresh do you ever tweak things in EQ for headphones/IEMs that have issues like you described with this pair? Wondering if using a low shelf filter to drop the bass a bit would help these IEMs shine.

@@og_bl6ckgaming602 Honestly, haven't been using them for competitive gaming at all, mainly for music. For gaming (been playing warzone 2.0 mostly) i've been switching between the Truthear zero's, Arctis 7x when i need wireless and opened back headphones when my daughter is sleeping and i need to be on alert in case she wakes up. I tend to still prefer my opened back headphones (Isk HF2010 modded with detachable cable and with a V-moda boom pro mic) over anything else because of the sound stage and how more natural and clear everything sounds. But if footsteps are your only priority i believe you can ear them louder with closed back's or iem's. But the thing with this hobby/obsession is that you are never fully satisfied🤣 I am not fully convinced with Iem's (confort problems) and now i'm on the hunt for new opened back's (maybe the Beyerdynamic Tygr 300r or the DT900X) and also want to try planar magnetic drivers (Very curious about the new Audeze Maxwell)

The KBEar KS2 and CCA CRA also deserve to be part of the "best budget gaming IEM" conversation. They both have amazing imaging, low end emphasis, and are better for games than Harman-tuned IEMS like the Salnotes Zero or Chu, in my opinion. They are also both less than $30.
Hello, FreshReviews! I finally decided to purchase a new IEM, the QKZ x HBB, thanks to your videos. it's good for its price, but I noticed when I played Valorant, the audio output is like completely opposite, for example, the footsteps are coming from the left side of the map, but I am hearing it on the right bud of my IEM. I never had this issue with my previous earphones (JBL Quantum 50), so I'm not sure why this is occurring. it's working properly when listening to music and watching videos, the issue only occurs when playing. already tried configuring/resetting my settings in valorant, and checking the properties of the IEM in the control panel, but the issue is still there. I'm only using my laptop to play. i appreciate any help! thank you!

Would u recommend this more than the Aria for valorant? was planning to just directly connect the iems to the motherboard since i dont have anything the appropriately drive the iems
@@lvm2243 yup imaging is surprisingly good just it's a bit too harsh and loud but EQ can help. It's better than my arias and currently having a S12 on the way
I bought the TRUTHEAR x Crinacle Zero and I was very disappointed they are not good at all for Valorant no sense of direction to much bass no details. I have the Lenovo Legion H500 Pro 7.1 and they are just perfect for foot steps and sense of direction Now I I love them even more and I definitely gonna return the crinacle zero
The directional audio on the zero is unequivocally good for valorant. Must be what you’re using to drive them. I see you enjoy fake 7.1 directional usb audio, which makes me further suspect you’re using on board audio and probably not driving the IEMs appropriately. Your amp and dac matter, even for IEMs
I say this, particularly to stress the fact I’ve had zero complaints from those who ordered the zero playing at high tier levels who are driving them appropriately.

Hi Fresh, some time ago I bought the Truthear Crinacle (since you said they were better than the Final Vr3000 in general) and I have to tell you: musically there is obviously no battle the Final were terrible, on Valorant they are pretty good, but on Apex in my opinion the truth are probably inferior to the Final (I can't always understand where all the enemies are/point the sound perfectly) and in the new mode (absolutely absurd to practice) it's like something is missing, so the doubt is this: (of course I don't want to go back to the Final) are these Qkz for Apex really better or should I try like the Blon Bl-03, which according to many people are really incredible?
Not quite sure tbh. We all hear differently and the final vr3000 for me was absolutely horrific. Maybe it’s what you’re using to drive them. In other words, if you’re using bad on board audio or directional audio software etc.

So just kind of getting into IEM's for gaming and have been using the Chu's for about 6 months now. I decided to give these a try and am very disappointed but maybe im missing something. I have looked everywhere and cant find the answer......do these require a dac/amp to work properly? My Chu's plugged right into my Wave 1 mic and sounded great but these are 1/4 as loud, or did I maybe get a bad set?

The sense of depth, and spatial awareness is what your paying for in the vulkans, very airy experience but in a good way 👍

Make sure the IEM cable is plugged into the correct side.

Bro could u test with more game like pubg mobile, bcs iems such a sweet spot for a mobile gaming

Yes I prefer them more than the aria and they’re a fraction of the price. The aria has poor separation.

QKZ X HBB vs Khan for gaming?
I bought the TRUTHEAR x Crinacle Zero and I was very disappointed they are not good at all for Valorant no sense of direction to much bass no details. I have the Lenovo Legion H500 Pro 7.1 and they are just perfect for foot steps and sense of direction
Now I I love them even more and I definitely gonna return the crinacle zero
The directional audio on the zero is unequivocally good for valorant. Must be what you’re using to drive them. I see you enjoy fake 7.1 directional usb audio, which makes me further suspect you’re using on board audio and probably not driving the IEMs appropriately. Your amp and dac matter, even for IEMs
I say this, particularly to stress the fact I’ve had zero complaints from those who ordered the zero playing at high tier levels who are driving them appropriately.

Hi Fresh, some time ago I bought the Truthear Crinacle (since you said they were better than the Final Vr3000 in general) and I have to tell you: musically there is obviously no battle the Final were terrible, on Valorant they are pretty good, but on Apex in my opinion the truth are probably inferior to the Final (I can't always understand where all the enemies are/point the sound perfectly) and in the new mode (absolutely absurd to practice) it's like something is missing, so the doubt is this: (of course I don't want to go back to the Final) are these Qkz for Apex really better or should I try like the Blon Bl-03, which according to many people are really incredible?
Not quite sure tbh. We all hear differently and the final vr3000 for me was absolutely horrific. Maybe it’s what you’re using to drive them. In other words, if you’re using bad on board audio or directional audio software etc.

You’re doing something wrong. Hard to identify what. Your cable on the right side? You plugging the IEMs into a competent dac? Playing in stereo?

So just kind of getting into IEM's for gaming and have been using the Chu's for about 6 months now. I decided to give these a try and am very disappointed but maybe im missing something. I have looked everywhere and cant find the answer......do these require a dac/amp to work properly? My Chu's plugged right into my Wave 1 mic and sounded great but these are 1/4 as loud, or did I maybe get a bad set?
If they’re not getting loud it’s what you’re using to drive them.
