- We had a super rare visitor today, the BYU Football team chartered a Delta CLASSIC 757-200 for their game against the ducks today. I am going to be uploading a separate video of the other takeoff and landing. Like and subscribe for more Oregon Aviation content and comment your favorite clips!

@theoregonaviation5 Did they really allow you to go out near the runway to see the planes taking off and landing?
No, this video was filmed from the Lane Aviation Academy parking lot which is adjacent to runway 34L. The camera I use for filming is a camcorder style so i can easily stick the lens through a fence for filming. When I film landings I move back from the fence so that I can move the camera around more, but during takeoffs i put it through the fence for more close up shots.
@@theoregonaviation5 I wonder if I'd be able to make field recordings of the planes there. I've talked with Andrew Martz, the head administrator of Eugene Airport, and he tells me that the jetways and ramp areas are off limits to visitors for safety reasons. He says the only place I'd be able to record is in the lobby and the terminal, and possibly the restaurant. Though he didn't say whether I could record at the gates and security areas.
@@MsAussie83 I’ve talked with Andrew many times also! There’s a few spots around the airport that work, but this spot at Lane Aviation Academy parking lot is the best by far.
@@theoregonaviation5 I also want to record the inside of the terminal, to get a feel of an airport atmosphere. This is where I'm confused, because I'm not sure what the best way would be to record in the terminal. I especially want to try and get an impulse response of reverb of the room, but they don't allow any loud pops in there, as those could be mistaken for fireworks or guns! That's scary, and it's probably not safe!

I'm thinking about going today, where do you spot from when they are landing from the south.
For landings Kokkler road is a nice for overhead stuff, but I mainly use the Lane Aviation Academy parking lot. If you want get out here quickly the BYU football charter and a Breeze E190 charter are taking off soon

I was at Kokkeler for that! The Breeze tho is a rare visitor this is the first time Breeze is at Eugene so it’s pretty damn cool out bere

Lol, that T-38 came into Eugene yesterday also and I saw it land. You guys have the fire tankers though.
