Thank you for this comparison. I recently sold off my Fuji X-T3 + lenses I’d been using with Atomos Ninja V, and ordered a Sigma fp. I’ve been looking for videos of ProRes RAW with the fp, and your videos reassure me that I’ve made the right choice. Can’t wait to shoot with the fp, but until it arrives your videos give me something to watch.
Interesting I came across your video. I currently own multiple xt4’s and was looking at changing to the sony fx3 but started looking at some sigma fp videos. This struck my interest because i could buy two sigma fp’s for less then the a7s3 or fx3 with the lens and a full rig for both. I could use the monitor and everything else I’m using on my Fuji xt4 setup and have a full cinema setup with a and b camera. This would give me the flexibility to finally get a gfx 100s for stills and the Leica q2 for street photography. Still debating if i should just stick with Fuji and wait to see what the Xh2 has in store for us. So many choices. Thanks for doing a video that doesn’t include the canon eos r5.

I bought the Sigma FP. It was so Expensive (In Europe). I don't start it cause my set up is not ready. I thought damn I did a mistake. but after your comparison I was surprised. I'm happy to made this step. Thank you for your test !
I sold it just in time to get most of my money back. Bought the A7SIII and after that bought a S5 because I of the insane value that camer is for the money.
Thanks a lot for the video. How sharp is the Sigma FP compared to Sony? I found information that Sigma is missing lines in the video even when recording DNG, since the 6K sensor records only 4K, so I wanted to know how, in your opinion, the sharpness of Sigma?
In 2023 sigma fp is far superior as it still gets software updates and the Sony doesn’t. Also plenty of good value Leica dc lenses on the market now since they are officially phased out, as well as the fact that now you can get a 2TB external ssd for the same price as a cf express 256GB. Now ProRes is now officially inferior to 12 bit cinedng in every way apart from monitoring / (demonstrating to clients in field). You can get an 80gram pancake Leica 18mm elmarit tl which is in a league above a Sony lens, and the fp only weighs 422g. Absolutely no need for an expensive gimbal as a result 😮
I don’t think so. I can do one if people want to know. With ProresRAW I Usually convert it to Slog3 in final cut and ad Alister Chapman’s Venice Luts on on it. Then I do the final look in resolve.

I was very happy with the Fp. I did trade it in for a Panasonic S5, that camera really is greate value for the money when paired with a Ninja V.

What happened to your S1H? Sold it for the Sony? Do you like Sony’s image as much? It doesn’t seem as pleasing to me.

It's really hard to judge image quality in video. Can you make the same comparison for stills and compare the raw files?

try crop mode if you are worried about the missing lines

I would only buy the Fp as a second camera. The S5 is such a well rounded camera. I would get that.
