Holy shit! This song is about the best musical venue in Atlanta- The Masquerade. There are two parts: Heaven, the upstairs and Hell, the downstairs, and in between is the Bar- aptly named Purgatory! He alludes to it when he sings: "I still remember my first time with Armour in Hell// But somehow I planned my escape to Heaven//" Armour is band they toured with. Hell is where the smaller or local bands play, while Heaven is where the main attractions play. Also, the line: "This masquerade remains to be seen//" I mean he literally says the name of the venue! And then, he drives the point home when he speaks: "As I pondered in silence, motionless in the Georgian heat// I realized nothing would ever be the same//"
I hope that I'm wrong; I just don't trust all of the development happening down there. www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/print-edition/2015/02/06/a-brand-new-show-set-for-the-masquerade.html?page=all
+Laurence Hageman Haha, sounds similar to me I'm 25 too. But I didn't know shit about post hardcore in middle school, I listened to them in high school. Discovering the waterfront was my fave. I'm seeing them for the second time tonight, always brings back memories
Alexisonfire and Counterparts are right up there with them in that genre. Don't forget about Protest The Hero, Structures, The Afterimage, Mandroid Echostar, Intervals, Ion Dissonance, and Devin Townsend.
This is the first time I've listened to Silverstein and this sounds pretty great. To me hey sound really similar to Story Of The Year, a band I'd very much recommend.
Considering the fact that this song it's about The Masquerade, when i hear the music and the screams of Shane, i get a vibe from ADTR. For some strange reason the lyrics of this song reminds me City Of Ocala. It's nicely how the bands can easily remember the most beatiful places in their lyrics.
Actually in tears. Best and most consistent band ever.
Erin Honor this band has never released a bad song. such a phenomenal band
I recomend WAGE WAR that band never release a bad song to!
I hear that love this band

Which makes it that much more depressing that the masquerade is moving. Hopefully they'll get to play there again before then.
Stephanie people have been saying that for years lol
Stephanie its moving?
FromtheEasternLands I saw them last time they came in heaven :D
