  • This is a quick guide on how to put together a 4 cell LI-on pack. That will double your power for half the weight! Here are a list of things you may need:
    Wires (copper preferred)
    Solder
    Soldering Iron
    Clear packing tape
    4S Balance Plug (male)
    Your connector (Tplug, Eflite, Deans, JST)

    good info, back in the day when I had access to li-ion batteries I used to make my own packs but I did have a way to balance charge them,so they wouldn't last very long maybe 30-60 cycles, either way it was a lot cheaper than lipos at that time

    how can u charge that batter pack..?what kind of balance charger u will use..?can u apload video for me tnx..nice job on your battery pack

      jhayr soriano most rc chargers can charge them same as a lipo battery. If it the charger charges pb batterys, lipo, etc then it will charge in that charger for sure. just dont allow your pack to charge above or below the 4 cell setting.

    do you know how to make a 4s2p, 4s3p or 4s4p? And what the resulting capacity would be? Thanks

      Zac Johnson Mah adds in parallel i.e. 2 3400mah in parallel would result into 6800mah.
      Also no changes to mah if batteries connected in series so 4s(4batteries in series) will have same 3400mah but 4s2p(2 4series batteries in parallel) will have 6800mah.
      In short mah adds in parallel (no change in series) and volts adds in series(no change in parallel).

    Won't the heat from soldering damage the battery?

    How to scuf ther terminal.. u used what tools?

    simple, short and sweet, thanks.
    I'm gonna order some in a min, what is the minimum voltage you can run these at? I understand you can go lower than a li-po. For example, my low voltage alarm is set to 3.5x3 (10.5) on my apm2.6

      I am not sure I limited mine with a timer. I tested all my stuff real time. Example: 45 minutes for my long range plane with apm and lights.

      On the negative end on the direct other side of the positive. (far battery)

    so how would i solder it to increase the capacity but still keeping it as a 4s battery

      By adding cells in parallel.

    Hello, I have a question, I need to buy 3 other 18650 cells, and i'm sticking between this two model, the LG HG2 for 3000 mAh at 20A and the LG HE2 2500 mAh at 35a, which is the better ? This is for a ZMR 250 with 2204 motor.
    Thanks.

      Martin Thibodeau im not sure, I only use these packs with my rc plane. it doesnt need much voltage. my tricopter wouldnt fly with these for long because the discharge rate is 3c. i always pull more than 3c with multirotors.

      Martin Thibodeau -more amps more better but seriously the 35 amp and make sure that this is not stated Burst amp or pulse amp these battery’s are almost 50g each keep that in mind

    Difficult to say, but it looks as if you're using PCB protected cells. Can you clarify?

    • @fpvflightairborne2168
      @fpvflightairborne2168  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shadowcruise99 18650's are all pcb batteries unfortunately. gotta be careful with the charge.

    lipo cheaper ! more voltage and more power.

    • @HeavyDist
      @HeavyDist 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lipo has way less energy density. Pretty important parameter for a UAV.
