    Awww! Sea lions are related to dogs, hence the friendliness, barking and adorable personalities. Plus the gratitude to let him escape somethings that want him for lunch! What a sweet little animal. God bless you for rescuing him!

      Their closest living relatives are bears, weasels, raccoons and skunks, but they are in the suborder Caniformia along with dogs/wolves and other Canidae 👌🏼

    Many years ago at a California beach campground my children and I were sitting on a small incline close to the ocean. All of a sudden a little blonde-furred baby seal slides out of the water and up the incline right onto my lap. He/she nuzzled me and my kids went and got some tuna for it. We played and snuggled a while then took it back down to the water and said bye :) I will never forget it.

      That used to be commonplace at the Harbors in Southern California for many years. My friends and I used to go down to the docks to visit what the boaters called their regular mascot. They called him Sammy. The Sea was the Sweeteest and most friendly wild creature I had ever had the privilege to spend time with and even pet. That day you had was such a blessing for you and your family. So happy for you that you had this wonderful experience in your life👭🤗💖

    I rescued a sea Lion when Living in Mexico, the poor little thing was up on the beach and some horrible kids were hitting it with sticks, e got him back to the house, it was not far, he was mad kept hissing at us. He was in a bad way covered in barnacles! I called a resort not far from us the y had a sea Lion program there, and they agreed to come get him and rehabilitate him. We named him Barney, because of the barnacles. Never found out what happend to Barney though. ☹️

      Lisa, animals that are covered with barnacles are usually very sick and don't have much time left to live... especially when this happens to turtles. I've never heard of it happening to a seal before! Poor thing... so glad you tried to help.
      People will remove the barnacles which sometimes causes more damage to the animal than before. I don't know how "Barney" was helped, but I hope he made it! Brought tears to my eyes thinking about those horrible kids hitting it with sticks when it was stranded on land. How mean can people of any age be sometimes!

Some will growlif you get too close. I live 2 hours away from Monterey bay where otters live and you can quite often see them at right locations. February- April whales migrate through. I know you guys have dolphins (and other cool animals we don't have), if you're lucky you may see some. They're more prevalent down south.

    It's pretty incredible that a wild animal chooses us to protect it from another wild animal. It's happened up here a few times. Same kind of thing the seal gets in the boat to avoid the Orca. Amazing.

    Beautiful and heart warming story, love it. It was also educational. Seals are so cute. I'm thankful for given the experience to be close to couple of seals at Galapagos Island, it was wonderful. Thank you for sharing this video.💕🥰

    Very interesting and informative.I’ve watched so many docos on seals before and I’ve never heard anything about their evolution ,who knew bears and weasels are the ancestors of seals.WOW

    • @karnovtalonhawk9708
      @karnovtalonhawk9708 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      like you never once have i heard about the differences or that they had evolved from different ancestors, normaly watch these types of video just for a feel good but this one had a plus side of some knowledge

    • @gracet7159
      @gracet7159 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure they are correct about that ! I think when God created, He created bears as bears, seals as seals, and weazels as weazels. They may have simalarities, but they are not the same or 'evolved'.

    I have seen 150 to 200 killer whales at a time in Alaska while commercial fishing for years. The big males would stay way back in the pack and the females would bring their young up, after they made sure it was safe, and expose them for treats. What an amazing planet that God has placed us on. He truly loves us!

    It doesn't surprise me that a seal will jump on a boat to avoid Orcas. If it happened to me I would save the seal from certain death.

    Awe, so cute, my cat does that head butting trick when she is being affectionate. That baby seal would have been lunch for the Orcas. We have two paintings done by some sea lions.
