I really can't get enough of your planet zoo builds, one of (if not the the number one) most creative creators out there. Love your stories you make up for each of them as well❤
I love this series and i absolutely would love to see it come to an end with everything fully added. It's so well detailed and wacky (but in a good way) and it's just not something you see in other Planet Zoo builds most of the time. Love em, keep it up!
Been enjoying the Planet Zoo episodes! I work overnight shifts and just having you talk about these animals and your process while I work is very calming and goes a long way! On the topic of possible Sloth Exhibit ideas, maybe it could be a memoriam of Barry, since he -at his core- cared deeply for his animals, with Sloths being possibly his favorite and/or the last exhibit he ever made before he died and/or disappeared.
Southeast asia zoo: 💀 Modded zoo: 💀 African zoo: 💀 North american zoo: 💀 Amsterdam zoo: 💀 Elderwood zoo: PERFECTION I personally love your planet zoo videos so much, and not just the game, its fun to hear you talk about the zoo builds and the animals, and especially the backstory that you write into each of your builds. It really shows your passion for this game and I really enjoy it. Keep it up with the planet zoo!
I love these episodes so much~ The exhibit turned out nice, and I love the little truck, it's adorable. Always excited to see where the storyline for this zoo goes!
Yes! I like this build! Love the idea of "free" animals in an extremely wild and overgrown forest with humans safely travelling inside of their natural habitat. The transition with the deforestation zone is painful but so realistic. It is even more shocking considering the point of view of the zoo visitors just before they enter the dead-lands. It really puts us in a wild animals perspective when they lose their home. Anyeays, Very good job on this build!
Elderwood has become such a diverse park, which somehow all still fits together. Such a great project to follow. Keep up the awesome PZ vids, I can't wait to see how Barry's story will end!
I love the trucks w small wheels! I think it matches Bonker's Barry-Bob perfectly. Like he couldn't afford proper trucks so he built the truck cab & bed for the logs onto an old car chassis or something. Best part was 22:40... just 30 seconds of pure dark terror as the story spiralled into chaos for Bonker's Barry 🤣 Love it! And I love listening to your chatter, BIS, but to answer your question a lot of YTbers I watch just use music over portions of their speed builds so they don't have to talk the whole time. Also, just throwing in my 2 cents, but I think the wall-archway out of the deforested area should maybe be changed to a temporary wire-mesh gate that kept people out of the work area but allowed the trucks through (otherwise how did the trucks access the area when the zoo was open?). Great build as always!
I only caught up on the last couple episodes of elderwood recently, so here's my (now episodic) comment to support one of my favorite planet zoo projects out there! I've been around on the channel for at least 8 years, but admittedly I rarely comment- it's been awesome to see you get better at building in planet zoo over the past few of those years, and I honestly feel like elderwood perfectly balances the batshit bestinslot vibe we all know and love with actual plausibility perfectly- much love BIS!
Maybe Barry had a pyromania issue and somehow caused an underground mine fire under the fishing town (look up Centralia in Pennsylvania, US). This caused the grass and foliage to die. An earthquake or something collapses to cause the river to dam which also contributes to the arid environment. This as well as the deforestation really just added to it. Barry had camels as a side petting zoo maybe in town and then when he died whether that be by the hands of the sloths or by the underground fire, the camels and the arid pack animals kinda took over the fishing town. Love your Zoo videos so much. The chaos is everything!
I can't wait to find out what happened to Barry! I LOVE that you create stories for all your zoos! it makes watching you build all these amazing habitats even more fun
An idea for the sloth habitat, maybe, after they've brutally killed and eaten Barry, the sloths have taken over Barry's house. You can put the walk through area/ actual enclosure as the conservatory or maybe one of the downstairs rooms that has become dilapidated and overgrown. It would make sense for Barry to live close to his zoo, so maybe this detour is going to take us past his house, and you could integrate the climbing frame as, like, parts of the interior of the house (broken cupboards, rafters/ ceiling struts/ shelves) that the sloths have started using or the town have modified to suit the sloths (as nobody really wants the hassle of having to move a gang of man eating sloths). Just an idea. Got into this channel through the jwe stuff, but I love the planet zoo builds. Can't wait to see what you do for the rest of Elderwood.
I don't know if you have an idea for the sloth yet, but you could do an abandoned sawmill or something -- could fit with having just gone through the deforested bit. And there's an old safety fence that's broken down or whatever. But yeah, could be just an old sawmill with broken beams and stuff and the sloths have taken it over after escaping from their original habitat -- maybe they were in the cage which is now empty. (And maybe the sloths have learned to use the saw.....? Because it's Elderwood Park, and anything can happen, and maybe Barry's death involved industrial logging equipment.) The dense jungle for the gibbon exhibit really turned out well! It's so hard to capture that sort of feeling with the plants available to us in PZ, so it's cool to see it come together like that. And I do like how the little logging truck turned out! It ended up being really cute. (Side note: I could totally see Elderwood Park: Horror Edition being a fun build. Designed as a first-person walkthrough experience, at night, with just the little torch you get by pressing "L". Basically, I feel like this could be really cool and spooky by intensifying the Alan Wake vibes. Part of it, I imagine those gibbon calls being kinda spooky in the dark, when you can't see them.) And as for the Arid pack... I mean, you could just have zoo exhibits, like you did in the beginning. Or there could be an old pit mine or quarry or something....? Honestly, no idea. Arid habitats are tricky. Anyway. Love the series, always so much fun to watch. And I know I've said it before, but I think it's worth repeating: Your skills in this game have dramatically improved from your early builds. So different. And really, really intricate and well thought out.
The idea of the damn is absolutely perfect. It would explain the arid area and all of the animals could have some horror or fantastical backstory or extra idea unique to them :D Can't wait to see it :D
For the arid animal pack, perhaps you could do something similar to a simulated safari - sort of like they have at the San Diego safari park. Basically big open area with several animals and a driving tour. Nice thing with arid-accustomed mammals is that they don't really need to be living in arid conditions to do well. So perhaps based on your idea of a dam, maybe that created a large low area, and someone (perhaps Barry if he doesn't die) wanted to start up a safari attraction, bought up the land, and filled it with a bunch of animals. For the smaller animals like the cat and snake, you could make the entrance and exits arid-themed gift shops.
Instead of an entire rotting Barry corpse inside the sloth exhibit, you could make a chalk outline on the ground with white bits and pieces where his body used to be. Think about it, if the zoo was shut down by authorities it would make sense that they found him and CSI-ed the shit out of it. Also I love how your ideas keep spiralling more and more into madness the more you talk about it to youself ahaha.
Since the Arid Pack is mostly ungulates, you should do something like the Columbus Zoo Wilds area where they're all combined in a safari jeep tour. I think that would really fit the landscape of Elderwood. The non-ungulate animals should be put in a small desert dome building to keep the heat in.
I have an idea you could use for the arid pack. In order for the town of elserwood to thrive, they created a dam. In doing so, part of the land dried out and became arid and uninhabitable to most. When the town was going bust, a businessman from dubai who had a private collection of animals he needed to move somewhere, descided to buy the land and make a zoo. Maybe try keep the paths and fences simple but have the focus on the enclosure. Make a big focus on commercialisum for revenue sake.
Lar gibbons and that genus in general are my favorite mammals, they're so cute! ok technically all gibbons are cute but i just like those ones the most i don't actually know why
I wanna say I LOVE that you're talking during the time-lapse! The reason why I don't watch a lot of great creators is that they let you watch their building process in silence. So thanks for all the nonsense!
Aww, I'd be sad if you dropped the fishing village. It's such a fun and cute idea. I'd love how cozy it could be. But given your skills and storytelling, whatever you choose to do, I know it'll be great. ^^
Some rainforests go through pretty intense periods of drought. I know in North America there's a rainforest that directly borders on a desert. If you put the arid section behind a mountain it would make sense for the rain shadow to create a desert area. :)
Love it! I remember you used a skull in your tropical horror zoo. Maybe all thats left of Barry is the head :P I really love the fantastical, and that you don't put a lot of stock into realism :D
For the camel you could something along the lines of what Homosassa Spring in Florida did with their Hippo. He's the only non-Floridian animal in the park, but he was already living there when the place was built so they kept him.
The gibbon exhibit is pretty impressive, and I like the idea of making it an immersive diorama with the deforested part. Thinking of stuff for the arid pack, it sounds like you want to take inspiration from desert domes, like the one at the Omaha Zoo, desert zoos, like Phoenix or the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, and national parks that span multiple habitats and biomes. I would suggest looking into John Day np, the Badlands np, toadstool state park, or even Wind Cave np, though that one is more black hills forest to prairie and not really desert. Any national/state park or national grassland/forest between the Mississippi river and the cascade range would be good for inspiration for the arid pack.
Thanks for another great Planet Zoo video! The reason I like watching your Planet Zoo videos so much is because you keep talking during the whole thing. 😉
Just wanted to say I only watch your planet zoo videos and really look forward to the story and build coming together so even if they aren't your favourite to do, I really appreciate your creativity. I first started watching after seeing your crocodile lab habitat as someone who works in a lab it was so different and fun. Just thought I'd let you know 😊 keep it up please 🙏
Comment for the algorithm The gibbons can also brachiate on the vines now so you didn’t have to add the climbing frame, could have just had lots of vines around Also it’s Foo-sa

If you were to place the climbing poles as part of the mesh tunnel, It could give the effect of the gibbons climbing up it that you were after, I'm not sure if this would work as I haven't really messed around with the brachiation pieces.
Hello Mr. Slot I am 100% on board with your evil sloth idea, and I would love to see it in a zoo. I think maybe the sloths should have a ruler or a “sloth god”. I found the name Malachi the cursed crawler and thought it was funny
I totally get not wanting to get influenced by other creators. I'm the same with my art, especially if I'm doing like a challenge like Inktober or Mermay. I'm scared both of accidently copying someone and of "getting stuck" on an idea and being unable to think past it, if that makes sense 😅 Anyway, lovely build! And I don't mind listening to you talk about whatever 😊 Also, Baryonyx is my favourite dinosaur 🦕
Also, for one of the desert animals, why not have a rocky/sandy beach area down by the docks? Maybe you could justify it as escaped exotic pets for the sand cats or something. And the locals are just so used to them (and they're good for pest control) that they leave them be.
I love all your horror theme zoos. The deforistation area is awsome. The camel whold be a cool animal to have in there. And just fade it out to a dessert.
You talking nonsense is one of my favourite things when watching your videos. You crack me up. Haha. Please keep it up! For the arid theme, you could build on the idea of humans destroying the earth through climate change - maybe the deforestation along with rising temperatures and the dam caused a drought in that area which made the landscape desert like?
Nice build. But I would suggest you turn Off Animal escapes in settings. If you turn off animal escapes then you can have the invisible barrier and the animals can not escape.
What if for te Arid Pack, there is a dam and because of an earthquake, all the water from the dammed lake flowed through caves to the central lake (possibility for flooded part of the town/harbour). So while the dam is barely damaged, the area behind it is arid and barren. Also you can build the caves (possible path to reach the arid part) as places and say that there are prehistoric beasts in there that were trapped but were freed due the earthquake opening the tunnels (cave hyena's, aardvarks and porcupine as cave beasts) and then how scientists want to discover the prehistoric tunnel but struggle because of cave beasts
I would love if you made an out of place habitat for camels like they have in australia. You would never expect a camel in a forest but guess what happens in australia
I think its pronounced fooosa, at least thats how they pronounce it in the movie Madagascar, build looks amazing btw! P.S. I think salt pans are large areas where there is very little to no vegetation, that could work for an arid area
Ok, so. Make a sloth cave, with blood marks going in and possibly down into a cave. Like bloody legs being dragged. Then in the sloth habitat put like a Frankenstein esque table and torture area. Just something simple 😅
I can't wait to find out what happened to Barry in the finale. While I don't have an idea for enclosures, I really hope Elderwood gets finished one day. P.S. I wonder if you have finished the memorial, as we don't see it in the episode.
The desert could be a big abandoned mine/quarry behind a hill with so much pollution in the soil the plants haven't grown back yet. The desert animals could have escaped from the zoo and found their new lives in the mine/quarry.
The mine/quarry could have been created due to Barry siding with the Mafia (to find extra cash for his failing zoo) who built the mine/quarry but then started dealing in illegal animals (sloths stolen from foreign royalty)... The sloths had to be kept out of sight in a "condemned" *shifty eyes* part of the zoo.
Plot twist, bonkers Barry actually wasn't bonkers but actually faked his death of being eaten by sloths but actually lives in the hidden part of the forrest in the zoo and is secretly watching over the zoo like bigfoot.
What if Barry is trapped in the sloth exhibit? He locked himself in and the zoo failed to reopen, leaving him desperate for survival among the sloths in the back of his abandoned zoo.
This video is 12% about gibbons and zoos, and 88% an existential monologue about the corruption of innocence, and I am absolutely here for it.
This planet zoo video says a lot about our society
I really can't get enough of your planet zoo builds, one of (if not the the number one) most creative creators out there. Love your stories you make up for each of them as well❤

Don't forget temple zoo and Black Rock
Love this zoo. Reminds me of the old ZT2 tropical theme for some reason.
I enjoy watching you build so very much. But I love the backstories you come up with just a much. Always happy to see Elderwood.
when your wedding is in 20 minutes but an elderwood video drops:
yea i've got time
I love these episodes so much~ The exhibit turned out nice, and I love the little truck, it's adorable.
Always excited to see where the storyline for this zoo goes!
Thank you for continuing this series! It always makes me so happy to see a new planet zoo video drop 🥰
I'm so glad this series is doing well! Your plant zoo videos are my favorite play throughs on all of TH-cam.

YAY! Love the new build and the idea! I can't wait to see who Barry becomes! The story is EVERYTHING!
I think for the arid pack you should maybe combine the somli wild ass and the addax in one exhibit
An idea for the sloth habitat, maybe, after they've brutally killed and eaten Barry, the sloths have taken over Barry's house. Thanks for making the speed slower, the reptile house video was making me a bit too motion sick so appreciate the slower but slightly longer video

It's great seeing this come together.
Dude, I genuinely live for these Planet Zoo videos. Keep the series going and keep up the great work!
He never gives planet zoo as much attention as the dinosaur games anymore
Instead of an entire rotting Barry corpse inside the sloth exhibit, you could make a chalk outline on the ground with white bits and pieces where his body used to be. Think about it, if the zoo was shut down by authorities it would make sense that they found him and CSI-ed the shit out of it.

Unfortunately doesn't work anymore since it's an old old mod, but yeah it would have been perfect!
@@BestInSlotGaming Oh.. That is so sad :(
For the camel you could something along the lines of what Homosassa Spring in Florida did with their Hippo.
Appreciate the suggestions, I'll check those out!
Thanks for another great Planet Zoo video! The reason I like watching your Planet Zoo videos so much is because you keep talking during the whole thing. 😉
YES! I'm so glad you are going to be doing the new Planet Zoo DLC in Elderwood
I A-Dore these Planet Zoo videos ! You are such an amazing builder, with a lot of attention to details. The Elderwood series is so great !
Comment for the algorithm
The gibbons can also brachiate on the vines now so you didn’t have to add the climbing frame, could have just had lots of vines around
Also it’s Foo-sa
If you want a flat rock texture, you could use those normal flat rocks. If you want a circular one, you could just rotate them until they form a circle. Alternatively, you could use the aquatic faux rocks, but theyre pretty thick.
If you want flat wood I guess either use the new tropical pack bark pieces or the regular wood panels, but both of those are kinda a stretch.
And the people talking about the fossa pronunciation, i think its pronounced Foo-sa.
Hope this solves all your problems ;)
Maybe for the arid pack you could do a nocturnal house for the sand cat and porcupine and maybe aardvark/fennec fox? Maybe Barry saw the success of his reptile house and decided to expand it
If you were to place the climbing poles as part of the mesh tunnel, It could give the effect of the gibbons climbing up it that you were after, I'm not sure if this would work as I haven't really messed around with the brachiation pieces.
I know I am late to it all but I absolutely love elderwood zoo and I am sad to see that there hasn’t been content posted for it in 3 months.
I'm sick just now so seeing this in my sub box really made me day! Thanks Best in Slot!
I would love, LOVE, Mesh pieces that just work like the regular walls and roofs. The one time I really, Desperately, Want the grid.
Maybe a desert/arid house?
Always a good day when an elder wood video is out
Hello Mr. Slot I am 100% on board with your evil sloth idea, and I would love to see it in a zoo. I think maybe the sloths should have a ruler or a “sloth god”. I found the name Malachi the cursed crawler and thought it was funny
The speedbuild speed seems just perfect to me.
Great!
Bis+Planet Zoo=perfection
I am no mathematician but that is simple maths.
Also, for one of the desert animals, why not have a rocky/sandy beach area down by the docks? Maybe you could justify it as escaped exotic pets for the sand cats or something. And the locals are just so used to them (and they're good for pest control) that they leave them be.
O and with the New Arid Animal Park you could made an old Egyptian ruins just maybe giving you an idea love your videos keep them coming
I love all your horror theme zoos.
The deforistation area is awsome. The camel whold be a cool animal to have in there. And just fade it out to a dessert.
You should use the deforestation idea to the arid animal exhibits as well
I think the sloth exhibit should be The Temple of the Sloth where they worship sloths at an altar (and where Barry was sacrificed)
Your builds are always so inspiring!
Praying for Barry/Sloth blood pact. It's so unhinged, i love it
Could do a fishing village that's Nile/Egypt themed? An abandoned amusement park?
Can’t wait for a horror themed sloth exhibit.
Its always a good day when Best In Slot uploads a PZ episode 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I found your channel through the JWE stuff, but love these Planet Zoo builds, too.
you could have an abandoned strip mining area that gets turned into a home for the arid pack animals
epic algoritim helper of epicness
Thank you for sharing your creativity.
Today is great a new Minecraft update and a planet zoo video. Keep it up bestinslot
Another amazing build!!! How do I visit this zoo?? 😂
Great build 🎉
I really love this series and please continue the series❤

Also you can build the caves (possible path to reach the arid part) as places and say that there are prehistoric beasts in there that were trapped but were freed due the earthquake opening the tunnels (cave hyena's, aardvarks and porcupine as cave beasts) and then how scientists want to discover the prehistoric tunnel but struggle because of cave beasts
I would love if you made an out of place habitat for camels like they have in australia. You would never expect a camel in a forest but guess what happens in australia
please keep making PZ content, your always entertaining to listen too and your builds are fab and something different which I'm all here for
What if the sloths have killed barry and then took over his house? To crazy?
Another great build. Keep it up!
We love the planet zoo builds ❤
Yay more Barry lore
Always enjoy your videos and commentary ❤️
I think its pronounced fooosa, at least thats how they pronounce it in the movie Madagascar, build looks amazing btw! P.S. I think salt pans are large areas where there is very little to no vegetation, that could work for an arid area
I think that’s how native Malagasy peoples pronounce the fossa too
Staying up to 01.00 to watch the video, well spent time.
Ok, so. Make a sloth cave, with blood marks going in and possibly down into a cave. Like bloody legs being dragged. Then in the sloth habitat put like a Frankenstein esque table and torture area. Just something simple 😅
P.S I have no idea how you would do blood stains along the ground
the camels could be stable animals in the fishing village
I can't wait to find out what happened to Barry in the finale. While I don't have an idea for enclosures, I really hope Elderwood gets finished one day. P.S. I wonder if you have finished the memorial, as we don't see it in the episode.
Memorial should be showcased in the final Sloth episode if I remember :)
I don't have anything to say other than you did an amazing job. Love it❤
For the camel, what about a retired/escaped 'riding' camel? The ones that used to be in zoos and stuff in the 90s that they just let kids ride on?
Bestinslot keep it up it’s an amazing series and I hope elderwood is not the last of planet zoo for you
The desert could be a big abandoned mine/quarry behind a hill with so much pollution in the soil the plants haven't grown back yet.
The arid part could be because of desertification
Could the fishing village, have a poacher who has caught the arid animals to then sell/trade
Still praying there will be a console release for this eventually like Planet Coaster had💯
What if Barry is trapped in the sloth exhibit? He locked himself in and the zoo failed to reopen, leaving him desperate for survival among the sloths in the back of his abandoned zoo.
this is awesome amazing gibbons habitat and great add to it and dam with dresert behide it
Love your work 💜
