I can not thank you enough for posting this video. I am an older single woman renting and window AC units were banned. I bought this unit and felt completely overwhelmed. Your step-by-step video gave me the confidence to get it hooked up and running. Thank you SO very much. What a gift this video has been for me on what has been a VERY challenging time.

Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I th-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

President Obama here! I thank GOD For your video. It helped me to be able to install a Magnavox portable AC unit and your instructions helped immensely. You are an invaluable source of information and if I only checked the instructions alone I would have failed miserably. Thank you for your existence on Earth!

It'll cool better at night the sun will not be beaming on the roof, and it cools down easier. I live in Florida, where we have humidity and that ac cools my room nice day and night.

I've had one now going on my 3rd spring. Our AC just doesn't push the cold air upstairs to the master bedroom and my stepson room. And i cant sleep if im hot. Being in Michigan I only need it from April to early September. At night that thing can get the room so cold we need a extra blanket. Probably could hang a side of beef. I love that thing. Best $400 I ever spent. My portable ac doesn't collect water. It evaporate any moisture and sends it back out the vent sleeve.

I just bought this exact one because I have back issues and lifting the window units is becoming to much for me. My son carried it in the bedroom which is about 10 x 11 and it's not crazy cold but keeps my toddler sons comfortable. I left it at 62 with our summer temps in mass rn of 90s for next 5-7 days. It is a little loud but not obnoxious.

I put a giant crockpot behind mine and it filled up more than 3 gallons of water overnight. I got it set to 62 degrees but it didn't cool the area even though I feel cold air coming out. The area is only about 3 feet by 6 feet. It's a little closed off insulated area by my back door that I also bought a storm door with a pet entry. I bought it for my dog. I'm stumped as to why it's not cooling. Lately the temps been over 100 everyday with heat index up to 115.

Two side filters? I got no instructions but it's bit been cool till I shut it off n in again. Drain hose in tip seems to pee out water so I bought a lomg hose. Bottom one has a screw in cap some place thing I aide with a plug on it. Didn't think it was a drain hose. But until I took it off messed with the temp thing aka wiggled it. Finally I git cold again. Are both drain holes n is there more than one filter area? Could be half my issue. I see a filter up top that comes off and you clean etc but where are the other ones ans how do they come off?

The unit adapter? Its a square piece that connects the hose to the unit is what I believe youre talking about. Midea.encompass.com has it for $5.95 plus shipping part number 12120600006211 - hope that helps

The main reason I'm looking at buying one is so I don't have to deal with heavy lifting one in the window. I want a 10,000 BTU which is very heavy.
Newer one have phone apps and require wi fi connection which I don't have so they would have to have optional remote control or push button like your have.

How loud is it? How much much noise does it make? Can you sleep with its noise?

It does hum and kicks on and off as it hits temp or falls below. We sleep just fine with it but that said I dont like really quiet. I sleep with a fan in for tge noise.

And also did u add a bug screen? Plz if you can clarify if the hose stays on the bottom plug or in the top? Ty

My window has a bug screen on the outside. I did not have to remove it because the ac piece goes on the inside. The hose clips in the top hole of tge ac and in the corresponding window hole.

@@ameripino4872 hi thank you so much, appreciate the reply… from what I gathered everyone instructed the bottom plug , the generic useless instructions etc,,long story short, woke up this morning with my kitchen flooded so as you instruct, shoved it in the upper hole , it is elevated and the short hose leads to a bucket , seems to be working great now, I keep checking for water but so far so good…Ty again for taking the time to help someone out, have a great day 😀

I find when it's time to drain, you can tip the machine and I put a thick towel down to soak up the water.
