@@jasonstatham5879 except for the fact that his video took alot longer than just a couple days to create... so this was done before school was back in ;)
One thing that could add to some pieces and doesn't take much more effort. Run the knife along the wood pieces to create wood grain, doesn't have to be deep, then add a bit of darker wash at the end and it makes it look very aged and worn. Some times chipping or doing tiny splinters can add to it as well. This looked like a lot of fun and I now have lots of new projects to work on! Thanks!
Another great tutorial, I would love to see your take on some 1920s Call of Cthulu scenery. I have been doing a few videos on painting the figures and am nearly ready to get the scenery done too.
Another great crafting tutorial video. It is always amazing how you manage to make the process look simple & achievable despite how great the end result is.
Thank you Wyloch, you are a cornerstone of internet crafting resources and the world is better with you in it. I love that you're still doing these videos, and providing an access ramp to new crafters. I love my 3D printers (I have 3 now), but I grew up on 2e 40K when crafting was the only option, while I could 3D print something in an afternoon, but I can't make much of a bonding opportunity with my daughter. You're also my favorite channel to recommend to high school kids getting into D&D. Hand crafted terrain is like a homebrew rpg campaign/world; the commercial stuff may have more polished facets and can be lots of fun, but you'll find the most passion in hand-crafted projects.
Huzzah,, thank you thank you for your many years of continuous crafting content. Your efforts in helping the Roleplaying genre is amazing. And nothing beats real wood.
Oh heck yeah, the ultimate solution is actual wood stain. But with the odor, availability, and mess, I stayed clear of it for this video (which is aimed at newbs).
Awesome video! I made the tavern tables from your past video and my dnd group loved them I’m looking forward to making some of these next Keep up the great work👍
This is a brilliant video! Would love some more videos on scatter terrain like this - some more dungeon dressing like braziers and torches and portcullises if you have a method for those Love this channel.
I needed this video last week for a dungeon I've been working on. But now I have it all in one place for later. Painting: I had the genius idea of using wood stain for coloring the wood on the stuff I did build, and I would not recommend it. Took forever to dry and didn't give the look that you'd get from using the paint staining tricks seen here.
Kinda did something like that a while ago. Tried to make some Terrain pieces inspired by the Arcane Enchanter and Alchemy Table in Skyrim, and also managed to make them modular to some extend, so I can use the full table configuration, or just the table top to place on a table.
Always love your vids and the noobie approach. I would love more cheap terrain videos from you. I know you have done some in the past but maybe just a quick tips video?
beautiful work! i have to admit i too sometimes enjoy fiddly bits construction but i started my collection by ordering some cheap 3d printed stuff from etsy and painting it. now i can add in my own stuff using techniques similar to yours to make that inn greatroom truly mine. or durnan's... depends on who you ask. :)
Not super interested in furniture but wanted to latest link to some matt board. Was worth watching this just for the little tip about the accelerant. Normally I spray it everywhere.
I've found the glue activator has a greasy texture to it that seemed to be left over around the bits that the glue didn't contact, I think I'll be using the touch method a lot more. Great breakdown video on a lot of good scenery I've put off building
Have you tried just using a water based stain to pre-color your wood products prior to assembly? You could do whole batches in different colors and have them ready to go.
Finally, YT algorithm put something fascinating that doesn't depress the feck out of me. Subscribed, definitely. Putting to use...eventually. Life is too danged busy sometimes.
Gonna paint that furniture, Gonna paint it fine, Gonna use an oil-based paint, 'cause that wood is pine. Ponderosa pine! OooOOoooOOoo . . . I'll see myself out.
I forget who it was but i remember someone talking about how great a material match sticks can be but theyd pain stankingly snip the tips off matches until they learned you could get just the sticks in bulk
Wyloch just released a damn cheat code for us fledgling crafters. Thanks man
His entire channel is a massive cheat codes book. A jewel in those times of bland 3D printing.
Was there a memo that went out to youtube crafters today?? "must put up videos today" lol I love it
I think it's more "Summer's over and we're back and kids are back to school so we have time to do stuff"
@@jasonstatham5879 except for the fact that his video took alot longer than just a couple days to create... so this was done before school was back in ;)
As a Canadian I appreciate the inclusion of “chesterfield”.
I really love how you use such basic and simple materials! Really makes these way more approachable than 3D printing or foam.

@RyanoftheNorth thx! But that ain't me, it's an ancient term over in the miniature painting hobby.

I will probably never do any of this, but it is so fun to watch. I'd love to play in a game where the DM built all these elaborate maps and boards.
"Touch your pinky fingers" is the best craft advice I had this year. Thanks! ❤
Another great tutorial, I would love to see your take on some 1920s Call of Cthulu scenery. I have been doing a few videos on painting the figures and am nearly ready to get the scenery done too.
I don't know how many years I've been watching your videos, and I've loved every single one of them. Thank you for doing you!
really love how the chaise lounge looks! thank you wyloch :)
That accelerant strategy of using the little straw as a dropper is brillant. I bet that saves a significant amount when using a drop vs a whole pump.
You had me at Credenza.
By far one of the best crafting videos Ive seen...ill be right back...going to dollar tree...must build
Classic Wyloch at his best.

Awesome! These will add tons of character to any miniature building or scene :D

The detail on those pieces is incredible - well done!
This was awesome! Thank you sir!
I love you style of build, especially for the little furniture bits. I was really excited when this popped up even tho i couldn't watch right away. 💜
So many great tips and techniques to use, always enjoy your videos. Cheers!
Good to see you again sir. You are one of my favorites
I like that Americana Gel Wood Stain stuff for coffee stir sticks and Popsicle sticks

So cute and simple making little things ❤. Loved this video 👍🏻👍🏻🤩.
Awesome video. I have to make a chaise now.
Those Dollar Tree jenga blocks are awesome! I like to hit them with a torch to make the grain pop.
Great video! I love how with really simple tools and materials you can always have an amazing outcome!
