I may be playing this wrong, but with the leadership example, why did you sacrifice a command token into the supernova? Per the rules, players that have passed may resolve the secondary abilities of other players' strategy cards. I think you showed this later in the vid with the technology card.
In my area we have a gaming club that once in awhile organize a TI event. But this is usually once every 6 months so I am trying my best to get some nerdy gamers together for more regular TI gaming. Yes it is an epic game that will often take half a day or more but I really want to gain more knowledge on how to play different factions etc. Which can be tricky if you only play TI once or twice per year. I have only played 4th once before(with the PoK expansion) and previously 3rd edition 3 times. In 3 weeks I will be hosting a 4th edition 5 player game. Crossing my fingers that the group will get hooked so I will be able to do this on a regular basis. We are playing 4th without the PoK expansion and only with the 17 races from the base game. :)
Hyper researched in R2 will give you 3 command tokens in a game. Maybe 4. I would prefer some blue tech to get Dread II sooner. But then again command tokens are never to many. When we vote for next faction to have a guide? :)
I think that one of L1Z1X's problems is the lack of influence and thereby command tokens and public objectives that needs command tokens. One way to makes this problem smaller is by getting Hyper metabolism as soon as possible. If you are in a influencerich slice, then Hyper may not be that important 🙂 But as you say, you cant have to many command tokens 😃
Yes, I guess we have to take a chance sometimes. Hyper could be irrelevant to get, but it can certainly also give those extra tokens needed later in the game :) The Patreon members are nominating factions for the next poll at the moment. Then I'll post it on the community page on Friday, probably

I don't remember the specifics of that Leadership example. But you are absolutely right: you can resolve 2nd's even if you have passed :)
