I wonder if Jill would have held the camera they would have let the test be filmed ? I 've seen TH-cam channels film the Driver's license test . The Dad on one of them I watched just held the camera from the passenger seat and nothing was said . The camera surely was seen by the person giving the test as well.

I never took drivers Ed class, I just grab a book from the DMV study, got my permit, practice and took the driving test it was pretty easy where I live
ohhh okay I was confused I didn’t know if she was getting her permit or her drivers license but then once I seen her driving I was like oh no she’s going to go get her drivers licenses!!!! yayyy
I was to get my driver’s license on my 16th birthday (in 1978) and drive my 2 friends to go see the movie Grease at the theatre. I did great until parallel parking. I got in between the cones, which was the requirement, but I decided to make it perfectly straight (there was a slight angle) and aaaaaaaargh, I hit a cone! I was so humiliated and my friend had to drive us that night. I only waited a few more days before trying again and passed. Besides learning to ride a bike, your driver’s license is a huge milestone towards independence. Enjoy your journey, Katie! It’s a blast!
In my state, you touch your phone while you're driving, boom, stopped and fines 2ndX cost more, 3rdX? You cannot afford your insurance rates for that stupudity.
congratulations katie!! it must be so different taking road tests in different states because i got mine about 2 months ago and i live in new york and we go to a road test site instead of the dmv and we don’t take a picture or anything if we passed we just get a receipt to use as our license until the actual one comes in the mail with the picture from your permit. the lady that tested me was also in the car with me as i drove down different blocks and such but it looks like they were just watching from outside when katie was taking her test. it’s so interesting to see how other states do it differently!

You lose your licence if you passed your test in the last two years. The US appears to be far more relaxed about it, despite nearly 400,000 injuries a year because of drivers texting.

USA also has to do that.. we have to have 8 ours of in car training and I forget how many hours of classes. But no USA definitely doesn’t have it that easy 😅
I refuse to believe the USA have it easier than us in the UK! Here we have a 40- 50 minute test which most people opt for a manual(car) test. You also can’t apply for the actual practical test without passing a 50 question theory test and a hazard perception test aswell. By the looks of it from this vlog the test seemed to be all of 5 minutes long (yes you have done practice but so do we so do we!!) 🤷🏽♀️
No one spends $1500 here, it's far cheaper. Some kids get lessons, others learn themselves, most have parents help them. There are 50 states so 50 different sets of rules. Some places do require car hours, others have nothing like that at all. Some places on the same day of your 16th birthday you can taken the written test for a permit, and take a road test for your junior license.
literally. dont think they understand how difficult our tests are. they havent got to deal with gears and roundabouts either let alone we have to wait till we are at least 17 before we even think about driving. it seems to be like it was in a car park and takes about 10 minutes. we drive for a good 40 with a bunch of manoeuvres, driving on main roads. id laugh if they ever thought they could easily pass a UK test.

You don't need to pay for hours and hours of driving lessons in the UK either. It's all dependent on whether you have access to a car so you can be taught and get lots of practice beforehand.
You can take lessons and do a drivers education course but if you have access to a car and a licensed driver willing to supervise and teach you then you can do it that way too. Study the book for the written test and just drive till you are comfortable and practice in lots of different situations….
Nah we have to prepare for over 40hours of driving and take driving school. You can’t compare a little snippet of her driving test to the whole USA process. Ours might be easier than yours but ours still isn’t easy

We also have to complete a manoeuvre which is either parking in a bay, parallel parking, reversing round a corner. We also have to pass a theory test and a hazard perception test. We can only have minor mistakes and we are strictly marked on how we check our mirrors, use our gears, breaking, following directions round an area, roundabouts .

I have never heard of the turn signal thing for parking.. I mean people will turn the turn signal on if they want a spot and if others are around… lol but that’s the only time. Also my driver’s license test was a legit drive around the town and parking…
Well done Katie!!! In the uk, the driver drives with you in the car and you would fail for crossing your arms over while driving. In the uk you have to drive as if the wheel was a clock and your hand have to be on 10 and 2 and thread the wheel through your hands. It’s crazy to see how different things are.
I've had my learners for 2 years (I'm currently 18), I still need to do 118 hours to go for my test, but that's hard to do if I don't have anyone to drive with. Are your tests really that simple? In Australia, ours are so different
Well done Katie! Here in Northern Ireland you have to get your provisional licence before you can even learn to drive. Next you have to do your theory test which alot of people struggle to get first time. You have to get a minimum of 86% to pass the theory test. After you pass the theory you can then take your driving test. Here in the UK most people drive manual cars so it takes bit more time to learn with the manual car. When test day comes you have to do an eyesight check (basically reading a number plate from a distance. Then the instructor will ask you 2 ‘show me, tell me’ vehicle safety questions. The test lasts for 40 minutes roughly and your allowed up to 14 minor faults before failing the test. If you make a serious fault it's a straight fail. You have to do one of 3 manoeuvres, which could be reversing around the corner, 3 point turn or parallel park. Next step of the test is independent driving. I passed my test about 6 years ago so things could have changed since then. To me it seems harder to get your driving licence here in the UK than USA.

In Michigan they take you on the road, and it’s thought a 3rd party company. First they have you do parking in a parking lot, then you go on the road.
