Just ordered a SB55 double cut Junior with the varnish finish. I can’t wait for it to get here. Neat to see the factory and the craftspeople that built it.

The only negative I noticed was their lack of vacuum to get rid of all the dust. A hand made instrument also comes at the cost of carpal tunnel and arthritis later in life both of which equally effect many high in boutique luthiers through out the world. Still makes me more likely to buy an Eastman instead as my next guitar instead of the Martin I can't get because of supply chain problems.

I have a lot of respect for Eastman. Their quality runs circles around most musical manufacturers today. Hand built instruments are almost unheard of today unless you're willing to pay an premium price. Eastman an SB59 guitar for example is hand built and about half the price of a Gibson LP.

@@anthonydavella8350 It would be interesting to know. It is a truism that you simply can't maintain consistently high quality with poorly paid workers, so one might guess they are respected and paid fairly for that type of work by Chinese standards.

I've had my E10 OM now for three weeks. Craftsmanship is amazing. Sound? Sustain for days. Piano notes. Volume, projection, clarity, all amazing. I get mesmerized turning the back in the light, watching the mahogany's vertical grain and the horizontal silking dance. Bravo to the craftpersons and designers at Eastman. I love my J45 and Bedel, but they're sadly being ignored as I can't leave this OM alone.

Factory tour otherwise known as how many times you can say WOW in 9:40. Actually it's a good tour and makes me more likely to try one. Where else are you going to get a actually hand made guitar of this quality and price? Here in 2021 you can get a hand made all wood Eastman for as little as $530 US which is the less than the PCL (plastic) body Martins. Oh WOW such a deal.

No safety precaution gear or air dust vents or just fans and masks which is not mandatory to wear it looks like. Yet still cheap labor and standards at play. No difference with clothing wear etc. They should be getting paid the same as the workers in the N. America etc.
