We recently purchased a Clubman All4 S. Before our decision, we were browsing through our options of SUVs & CUVs. Deep down I’m a hot hatch/ wagon sort of guy. So after carefully looking at our options out there, I decided to show my wife the Clubman. At first she was adamant but was open to go test drive one. Fast forward, my wife instantly fell in love with the car the second she saw it in the dealer and that pretty much sealed the deal. The plus is my two kids love it and it stands out in the crowds of trucks and SUVs. Just for reference, I’m 5’7” and my wife is 5’ and this car has more than enough room for our needs. Oh and it was the design that really made my wife and I to go for the Clubman. It’s such a quirky and practical car. And I love looking back at it. The designers at Mini really hit the ball out of the park when designing this.
Mini/Bmw, can always bring this model “Back” in their line up as a special addition years down the road. GM stopped making the Camaro and brought it back into their line up years later. So Never say “Never” I seen on the internet that not to many “Mini” owners, an lovers aren’t very “Happy” with the brand new looks of any of the new “Mini’s and specially the brand new EV “Iceman” coming out from China. They want Bmw/Mini to keep it as they are now in design specially the front/back lights and the inside front dashboard circle ⭕️ and lower toggle switches as is. And not to many really like the lights up dashboard or the seats either. They are saying leave the Mini’s as they’re or they will not be following this brand anymore? People are saying on the internet they will not be buying any of these new models at all. They will buy one now before the newest versions come out. The new Chinese versions will be a lot more expensive to produce and buy for their many customers worldwide. Because China has put a lot of tariffs on most of their goods leaving their country, and other countries and governments around the world have put tariffs on all their products entering their countries from China too. And a lot of people working for the Mini Plant are going to lose their job in Great Britain because they will only be producing Half of a Mini vehicle there, the other half will be made in the new Chinese plant? Even though they are going to retool it for some of their new future EV models, and a hole Mini will not be built there anymore? Different parts will be shipped there from Chinese Plant making it longer and more expensive to produce these Mini’s each day, week, month and year. And all Mini Models will not be offered in every country around the world because I really don’t think a lot of the Mini Customers now will be buying or following the Mini brand in the coming years and future if they change the looks of all the mini’s models, and make them all into Electric Vehicle’s down the road. I’m not interested in owning a Electric Vehicle now or in my lifetime. They are not Good for the environment in the first place. And they are also very expensive to buy, and repairs if they break down and I’m not going to pay to replace the batteries 🔋 under it at over $20,000.00 dollars each time. And I live in a country that it gets snow, and electric vehicles really don’t work well in the colder weather.
I have a 2022 JCW Clubman. One of the last available here in Canada. I've had MINIs since 2007. Always Hatcbacks with the manual. This time it's a 300hp 8 speed sequential box. I always loved the size and quirkiness of the Clubman, but sadly it's leaving to make place for a SUV smaller then the Countryman in other markets, the Aceman. For the moment, no words if that model is coming to Canada and USA. The design feel and features of this car are great and just the perfect size. Love your design analysis, i agree with what your saying . thanks for the review !
It's not an 8-speed dual clutch; it's a 7-speed dual clutch you get with the FWD version. If you the ALL4 (all-wheel drive) version then it's an 8-speed conventional (non-dual clutch) automatic. Two very different automatics, but BMW tunes their conventional sport-automatics to be as quick shifting as dual clutches without any of the jerkiness associated with DSGs.
Like other brands that some people don't "get" - "if you have to explain it - you probably wouldn't understand" - I'll be first to admit that they're not for everyone - though after you drive one you'll likely smile.
The cool thing about the "radio" presets are they can be assigned to other things other than the radio - for instance I have the last one set in my wife's Clubman to turn on/off the heads up display - she doesn't like it - I do... Things like the preset buttons will also be different depending on the key you have or the driver profile....
Off topic question. Could you do a computer sketch of the 1962 Plymouth Fury without the ugly side blade moldings? I would love to see what that car would had looked like without the oddly molding design on the 1962 Plymouth Furys and Dodge Darts
The clubman is great variation of MINI’s lineup. But, I still think the MINI cooper 5 door with the 3 cylinder is the perfect car for 2 people; Excellent fuel economy, can get 46 mpg on highways, enough practicality for 4 people to fit in the car, great for long journeys and lastly not needing to spend so much on gasoline because of the small tank!

Dual clutch issues. I’m thinking about the cousin, the BMW X1. After reading reviews, I’m convinced the dual clutch is a safety hazard, as well as an expensive repair.

Clubman will be missed when they stop taking orders in November.
That's why I bought two - a JCW and a S (his and hers)...
Didn’t know Mini was killing the model. Is it being replaced?

Yep the DCT is fwd only. The All4 S that is being tested is the 8 speed. I had a 2019 and it’s a great transmission. Super smooth 😎
Nice car and good video, I placed an order at early July, clubman JCW and hope can enjoy it soon.

I'm so happy to have the possibility to see it everyday in my house garage. I just wish mine was an All4 as well but at least regular fwd is lower

I assigned one button to jump to the tire pressure view.

The real question is, how well does it handle going 70-80mph and then hitting a bridge expansion joint?

The back light detail is supposed to be the uk flag as it’s a British car, glad I’m British
MINI is GERMAN now it's BMW 😂😅 Once upon a time it was UK car .... was long long time ago thank GOD.

The standard mini hatch has definitely grown but is still only about 150in long, it’s still a subcompact

Any ideal whats the specs of the wheels and tyres on this clubman?

I love the clubman they not making them anymore after February 2024

I think he's italian🤫
The wheel spokes are modeled on the British flag - he didn’t notice.

Anyone that has this car? I want to get it this December but I have my doubts
fuel economy 23 ? The engine and gearbox are still arguing. A lot of repairs are smiling
this design has not changed since 2016.
definitely better looking countryman
A mini? FFS its taller, larger and longer than my Kia soul.
The Clubman is about the same size as a VW Golf.
I drive this car and the fuel consumption is ridiculous, it does almost half of what it's supposed to. I hate it 😡
Куплю такую!❤
